These speakers have seen it all, from jamming in the garage, relaxing in the backyard, serenading in the kitchen and soothing to sleep... these have not stuck to the desk at all. They're easy to pick up in one hand and hook to an ipod for easy, good quality sound. I never judge music until I hear it on these speakers at least, because they can and will rock the house, if you let them. Cons: ...the blue light is a little intense, but who cares? I was pleasantly surprised by how great these speakers were. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: For $20 what do you expect? Has mic/speaker jacks on one speaker for easy access. Small-ish profile on upper speakers. Cons: Horrible sound on anything except computer sounds. Not worth spending money on. Splurge another few bucks and get the nicer 2.1's. Small sub lacks kick. Sound very tinny and flat, and I'm not an audiophile. Other Thoughts: These will do the job...and that's about it. Bought for my new Dell, plugged into motherboard sound, sounded terrible. Bought a cheap-ish sound card with good reviews. Didn't help, still bad sound. Like I said above, spend another few bucks and get the better Logitech speakers unless you really don't care about sound. And I mean REALLY don't care. I did and don't regret it at all. Cons: Blue LED is brighter than an ordinary blue LED you would see on an indicator. Other Thoughts: I don't hear the speaker's humming noises as other reviews have mentioned that they do. It may be individual hardware issues, or maybe just my room is too loud all the time and I cannot hear subtle noises. Either way, great sound for the price you pay. Pros: Excellent price, good sound, nice bass (For the price!). I still genuinely like this unit as it has so much potential if they just fixed the... Cons: ...humming. It is unbearable. I ignored peoples humming complaints as well because the price was fantastic. I humbly admit to my mistake now. I suggest purchasing the next model up, the X230 I believe. You may think you can stand up to the S200's humming... but this low frequency sound will drive you insane. I feel my ears popping over time :P Other Thoughts: Returning this for a refund is out of the question. Shipping was more than t.w.e.l.v.e. There is a restocking fee, and original shipping is lost. Replacements will just get you the same humming model and more shipping charges. So just save yourself and listen to me oh savvy shopper, I am writing this to save you! The Mic and headphone passthrough sockets are convenient so I don't have to reach under the desk. Cons: It picks up some radio station, so if I'm not playing any music or whatever, there are these distant voices in the background. Compare this product with the other logitech series and there is not much difference except these crazy speakers save u a hell lot of money. Vol and sub knobs on speaker, also hweadphone and mic port. No separate power block, it's in the sub. Have had mine for quite awhile now and they are still going strong. mostly use them for lanning, and they fit great in a shoebox. Also makes a good set of speakers for an iPod, way better than most docking station speakers. Cons: Only a few tiny things. Sub must be plugged in at all times, you can just have the 2.0 speakers hooked up. No big deal since most people don't pack up and move speakers alot. And the integrated cables, always think they are going to get ripped out, but it saves money. Other Thoughts: everything will fit in a shoebox basically, awesome sound for a twenty. No comparison to my logitech Z-5500's. But built with the same logitech quality. These speakers will last awhile, even if you though them around in the trunk of your car like I do. Cons: i bought these to replace some 9 year old altec speakers that cost fifty back then. after listening to both, i still think the altec speakers sound better. They are not going to blow you windows out by any means but they are just right at the optimal volume. You will feel explosions in your games and taste the bass in your music. Cons: I have experienced a faint "hum" I have read from other reviews but it doesn't bother me when I am listening to music. I am sure it has to do with the wires, so one of those wire magnet thingies will prolly help that. Other Thoughts: You say you need some speakers? Got not much more than a twenty-spot? Mic input built into speaker. Cons: Wow, I'm surprised I'm not the only one getting a humm, though I'd like to think mine's worse than most. My speakers pick up radio signals occasionally and humm annoyingly loud if I don't position the wires juuust right. The satellites sound tinny and the sub seems kinda weak after a listening a while. And speaking of that sub, the enclosure just looks goofy. These speakers are just silly things. Other Thoughts: Logitech's great and all, but these speakers really missed the mark. They are loud enough and I can hear the bass pretty well. Cons: These speakers make an annoying humm sound. I was able to eliminate the sound by adjusting the bass setting.. just can't turn bass up past halfway. which i guess is alright since i won't do that unless i'm listening to something loud enough to drown out the humm. Other Thoughts: if not for humm, I'd have given 5. These speakers seem solid in construction. They have great crisp sound and the sub has very good bass. Cons: They should shorten the wires a little but they are not a problem. So i guess there are no cons. Other Thoughts: I am havening a slight problem with them. For some odd reason i am picking up a spanish FM radio. But i did some research and i have to buy these things called "ferrite beads". They sound decent, look modern, feel solid compared to orhter brands. Simple controls where you need them. Cons: Bright blue led power indicator, put next to a screen, is distracting at times. Other Thoughts: I can deal with the little light, its a minor concern. At least you know the power is on. Cons: I listen to my music really loud, and these start to distort before they get too loud. They have a very mid-rangey sound (especially the subwoofer), which some people might like, but I don't. The bass isn't very bassy. Like I said, it's more mid-range than bass. Other Thoughts: You can get a better sound out of them if you mess with around with an equalizer. I use this for my laptop and the sound is very crisp and has excellent bass. Easy to hook up and has a headphone jack, the wires are long so the speakers can fit pretty much anywhere. Under $xx, you just can't beat. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: I was tired of the built in speakers on my laptop, very little sound coming out of it and I needed something more. Other Thoughts: *As for any sub, place it on the floor in a corner about 1/2 a foot from the corner and you will notice a giant sound improvemnt. CaseStudy Scenario: The subwoofer in the sub-component box died after lots of heavy frequency testing (My Fault). Because of this I had to open the sub enclosure up. Very impressed with the thought and engineering that went into this OEM product. The speaker and the grill are insulated at the edges to prevent rattling, and the internal power transistors that provide the power are fixed to a nice large 4-5 inch heatsink. Pros: Compact - They're really small and allow for a lot of space saving. Loud - Despite their size they can get extremely loud and handle all frequencies well (that subwoofer is exceptionally lethal with bass). Pass through audio - My old set of Jxx Platxxxx's had a passthrough port on the side of one of the satelites for easy switching between speakers and headphones. These have that as well with the addition of a microphone slot, which I LOVE. Cons: These things are so tiny that they look kinda goofy, but I'd gladly trade off aesthetics for the space saved on my cluttered desk. Also, I personally would have liked to have the passthrough for the headphone and mic to be amplified. My old Jxx Platxxxx's did that and it was great for boosting volume to headphones when I plug into weak onboard audio processing. But that's a personal quam really. I espicially like the mic and ilne in built into the speaker, this is useful for plugging in headphones, so you dont have to plug into the back of your computer. They sound very nice, BUY THEM.
