Pros: None
Cons: The first set i ordered the mic plugin broke and had to send it back. The set they sent me back the elastic broke on it and had to glue it then eventually tape it together. The right side now doesnt work.
Other Thoughts: I would pass on these...im ordering a new set cause these just pretty much fell apart on me. I had 2 sets sent to me and both of them broke. I will never buy turtle beach products ever again.

Nice and Effective
Pros: Great sound. Bass is deep and responsive. Positional audio is effective. Completely cover my ears, which I like. Bullets do whiz past, and I am able to pinpoint enemy locations in games.
Cons: A little tight on the ears after a few hours of gameplay, but not bad.
Other Thoughts: I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card (a little old, but still works). I had a time setting up the sound, because my center/sub channel is simulated based on the front and rear channels. Once i dusted off the manual, and made the appropriate setting changes, it made all the difference in the world!

Pros: Works as it should. Easy setup, nice design. Sturdy. Very nice for games and movies, especially when everyone else in the house is trying to sleep.
Cons: Not very comfortable over long periods. Fortunately, your head goes numb and the discomfort goes away about the same time you black out from the tight fit.

Excellent
Pros: Combined with a good soundcard it gives you excellent quality and an unbelievable 5.1 experience. Also, saves a lot of space instead of cluttering your PC area with speakers.
Cons: Requires a sound card. Earpads take a while to get broken in, however after they do they're quite comfortable. It's just during the initial hours (10-15) they start to hurt your head if you play for extended periods of time. Also, they require an AC adapter, which isn't really that big of a deal.
Other Thoughts: As of right now, Turtle Beach have created a follow-up product to these.. it's the "X2" ones. They come with redesigned ear-pads and other enhancements, so if you're really interested I would go with those instead.

Would Pay $100 for these
Pros: Great sound quality, you can really turn these up, in line control is nice, sturdy and well made, I am very rough with my headphones and these have taken a beating and have taken no damage, good for gaming.
Cons: In line control is a little to far away from the headphones. Lots of cords, pressure on the ears, padding is not sufficient for long sessions, does not contain sound well and as such are not perfect for listening with other people in the room.
Other Thoughts: I have had these for over a year and bought them for a lot more than new eggs price.

So-So
Pros: they can really put out a lot of sound. not a bad price for headphones, not cheap, but not too expensive.
Cons: the left ear piece is falling apart... its being held together right now with a rubber band until i can find a more permanent way to fix it. construction on this is fairly cheap with the two plastic parts that hold each earpiece, break with average use after about a month...
Other Thoughts: the mic isn't the best, but it is better than those poor $3 ones you can buy in some stores... overall i would recommend something else a few dollars more that may be of a better build quality.

fixing the pads
Pros: supposed comfort, mic.
Cons: thin pads, distracting pinnae pressure.
Other Thoughts: an easy fix for this, is to tuck a thick guage wire around the underside of the pad, as far away from the center as possible. this is a well known fix for any headphone with the same issues. head-fi

Question
Pros: i have a question for the people who bought these, i got them without the cable splitters, are those suppose to be inside the packaging, or what, im in the process of replacing them other than that these things sound amazing, the bass is awesome,
Cons: the only thing is the padding on the ears is pretty shallow
Other Thoughts: if someone can please get back to me on that

Pros: I love these headphones! You can't buy a better set on the market for the money. If you have the sound card to support 5.1 surround sound then it is the only way to go. I use my headphones for gaming and I can hear everything in the game. It's amazing!!!!
Cons: The only downside for me on these headphones is that the don't have a mute button for the mic. Other than that I can't complain about anything.
Other Thoughts: You can't beat the price of these headsets. They are outstanding for the money. Like I said I use it for gaming and I can hear everything that is going and know where it is at.

So much potential...
Pros: Contrary to most of the reviews here, the headset is rather comfortable. It could use more padding, but it's pretty snug. The subwoofer, when it decides to kick in, rumbles the headset which is pretty cool.
Cons: The sound quality is sub-par at best. Despite having a subwoofer in each cup, the bass is horrible. It's very trebley with no depth whatsoever. The mic was shipped dead, so I can't comment on that. The directional 5.1 surround sound is replicated exactly by my plain stereo headphones. There's no significant difference.
Other Thoughts: It has so much potential, but a $xx pair of headphones can do the job better than these.

Dont make same mistake
Pros: -5.1 surround sound -good mic -handy control on wire
Cons: ok... -5.1 surround sound was difficult to hear and the sound quality itself was terrible (5.1 or not)if you are looking for descent bass.... look elseware -THESE THINGS ARE WOEFULLY UNCOMFORTABLE
Other Thoughts: i was disapointed by the over hyped surround sound, but that is not why i returned this headset. I tried to put it on my head but the thing is uncomfortable to a degree that causes migranes, no joke.
this headset had a handy sliding feature that would almost auto fit to your head every time you put them on and then slide back when you dismounted it. however, this only works for people with small-medeium sized domes. this thing did not adjust enough to fit around my head. The speaker part that goes over your ear could only be stretched to about an inch above my ear and unfortunetly you cant angle the earpieces down to cover your ears, but instead they stick out almost and the bottom of the ear cup isnt even touching my head.
all in all, if your head is big.... pass on these. they gave me a headache in 5 minutes and after one day of usage i sent it back.

Overall Good
Pros: The sound quality is very good. The Mic quality is fantastic. They are a good investment - with a good price for 5.1 headset. Turtle Beach managed to find a way that these akward speakers will fit on your head. The elastic band is comfortable, and will also hold them steady (although, it may not *feel* like it) if you move around.
Cons: Headphones could be a little more comfortable - but they're not uncomfortable - just akward. No Mute switch for the mic. If you have a large or wide head, beware that these speakers have a completely flat past the cushion. There is only a 1/3 inch between the cushion & speaker.
Other Thoughts: Any 5.1 headphones you find will be hard to get comfortable. They have to fit 8 speakers in there! These are a great value for $xx. If you've had trouble with headset's fitting you in the past, though, beware, you might need to replace the ear cushions with something larger.

Very Comfortable
Pros: Accually very comfortable. I have a normal size head i guess and I can wear them all day without pain. i play America's Army and I can hear everything around!!!!!!!
Cons: Left ear cup fell of a couple of times no biggie
Other Thoughts: I have read alot of reviews stating the uncomfort of these headphones. I didn't have a problem with it at all. Unless you have a crome dome i guess you might run into a problem

Not worth the money
Pros: Great detailed surround sound quality.
Cons: I bent the head clamp to alleviate the pressure but the cushion around the earpiece is not deep enough so the hard surfaces press against your ears. Plus the pads come off easily but are a royal pain to get back on. There is no mute switch for the mic!
Other Thoughts: I had high hopes for these but save yourself the trouble, spend a bit more and get something practical for day to day use. Sound quality does not outweigh other annoying factors.

Pros: Sound quality is great (but make sure you tweak the bass response up in your surround control panel or they sound a bit tinny). Surround sound is terrific -- not as good as my living room 7.1 theatre surround, but WAY better than stereo headphones for those of us that play competitive FPS games and use voice-over-IP. I also suggest you tweak the volume of each channel within your surround control panel, not with the headset control knobs.
Cons: The microphone boom plugs in and it can move around a bit, but a small bit of of tape fixes that. The mic boom itself is wonderfully flexible and stays where you bend it. Many people complain the headset is uncomfortable -- just bend it out (they are made of reasonably sturdy metal wire) until you find the shape that best fits your head.
Other Thoughts: Unless you've got the room to put in a full blown surround system, these are a great alternative. NOTE: the first pair I was shipped had a dead left surround speaker, but NewEgg was brilliant in getting me a new pair within a few days. Hat's off to NewEgg for a superior customer experience! (I've ordered many, many times from NewEgg and this was the first time I ever needed to return anything.)

Sounds good, but they HURT.
Pros: The sound is second to none, the in line amp allows you to change the sound level for all of the sets of speakers individually so you can hear just what you want to hear in that move or game. They work VERY well in FPS games.
Cons: Man, do they hurt. They compressed my head after a year, and I've also got an indent in the top of my head from the strap.
Other Thoughts: Clean your head strap, they get really greasy after a week of hard core gaming!

Sweet headset
Pros: Amazing sound, I use this with BF2 and I am able to hear the other team walk and from whatever direction, I feal like I'm almost cheating. Overall just amazing, would buy sevral more.
Cons: Get's uncomfortable when worn for a while, but can be fixed easily
Other Thoughts: Great buy, must-own for gamers.

Excellent headset.
Pros: Great sound quality, great bass, easily removable mic (I pull it off as a form of muting it). Has held up well to the abuse I have given it. Came with Y adapter to plug 5.1 speakers into the same sound card.
Cons: Uncomfortable if worn for a long period of time, but this was solved by adding a thin pad between speakers and the stock padding (didn't take much)
Other Thoughts: This is one of the few things about my gaming rig that I don't think could be upgraded.

Awesome
Pros: Sound quality, bass, awesome sound when gaming (specifically BF2)
Cons: Very uncomfortable for the first week or two but that is temporary, hard to adjust the settings to your liking but I just followed what BATMAN said in a previous review:
"If you have a Creative labs sound card, go to your advanced bass or bass management section on your speaker settings and turn on your BASS REDIRECT on. Now set the frequency to High. Then set you bass volume to high. On your TB headset, set the front, rear, and center gauges to a setting of 5-6. Then set the subwoofer setting to 10. Now play an mp3 that has bass...thats right buddy...your jaw should be dropping right about now!"
Other Thoughts: Awesome headphones for the price. GREAT for gaming, you can hear everything. Once you tweak the settings the bass when listening to music is great. I used to own 5.1 speakers and these headphones are so much better.

Would Buy Again
Pros: Good bass response and sound. Surround sound is very real and very immersing in games. Comfortable (for the first 30min). Amp is easy to adjust and great to have. Easy set up.
Cons: They become uncomfortable after about 2hrs of use. Very heavy too (I see neck pain in my future). Sound quality is mediocre, but I blame that on my on board audio (sound card is in the mail)
Other Thoughts: Sub woofers sound bad when you CRANK it up and I get scared I am gonna break them... hehe, its bad for my ears anyways so I guess its a good thing.

Sweet or not so sweet
Pros: Great 5.1 sound. I love the long cord cause my comp is a little far away. Comes with a splitter so that I can have my 5.1 speakers and the headphones on at a quick flip of the on button
Cons: NOT MADE FOR LONG USE!!!! After about 2 hrs my ears hurt and I do not have big ears. I have a audigy 4 sound card and the center and subwoofer channels are fliped
Other Thoughts: I got a jack made to flip the sub and center channel and they now are great. Good deal at a good price

Very good, but not perfect
Pros: I just upgraded to an X-FI which is a huge difference from the Audigy LS I was using. They are ok on the LS but they are unbelievable on X-FI. These are meant for gaming and the surround sound though not true 5.1, does an excellent job in FPS's. Very immersive experience and impressive once you tweak the bass.
Cons: As others have mentioned..not the most comfortable set. I can last about 2-3 hours before I need a long break. I've had them a few days and they seem to be breaking in but if you have a large head/ears..find something else. I don't have a huge head but if it were any bigger I could see these being very painful.
Other Thoughts: Other than the occasional discomfort which seems to be subsiding with use, they sound great and aren't terribly expensive. I'm happy with them and would buy again. The detachable mic is sweet as well.

Good headsets
Pros: After I setup the headsets and my sound card setting they sounded better then what they did before.
Cons: My ears are small so it doesnt hurt as much that it does for the other people. It hurt only minor for me
Other Thoughts: It be good if they make the padding on the headsets a bit better.

Nice Headphones
Pros: Amazing! The sound quality that these headphones put out is wicked. The cord is long enough to have your computer reasonably far away.
Cons: They will hurt your ears for the first few weeks. When you aren't using them put them around something about the size of your head to get them to stretch a little.
Other Thoughts: play around with the settings until you get it how you like it. i put everything on 5, and Bass on 10, combined with my sound settings makes it amazing.

My ears are RED
Pros: The sound is ok. I thought for being a 5.1 compatible headset that these headphones would really to justice, but all in all they just simply sound "average"
Cons: Am returning after 1 day of usage. Played online last night for a couple of hours and was grimmacing throughout the entire session. These things just "HURT". The padding is not thick enough so your ears are literally pressing against the hard speaker in side. By the time I was done last night my ears were very red and I had to take 2 tylenol for the massive headache I had. Do not recommend these by any means. Buy something else.

Nice but not true 5.1
Pros: Good bass if you are running creative x-fi and follow past posters directs. Sounds good in BF2 true true. Audio tracks sound good. I like my live grateful dead stuff with these phones. feel like I am in autzen watching a show.
Cons: Not true 5.1 keep wishing. These may come as close as headphones can get with todays tech. I got a weird bass buzz in world of warcraft that is a real concern...blizzards or turtle beaches?? I had problems with the right rear speaker in creatives sound app..hmm
Other Thoughts: I like and hate this head set. It does hurt that is true..but I have a big head and it manegable..It sounds real good if dialed in right. You just have to work your sound card and the levels on the amp..good luck! I would still buy it..unless I was poor..then skip it and sink this loot into a video card!!

Good headphone but painful
Pros: Good sound. Good bass. Good looks. High quality construction. Nice detachable mic. I love the in-line amp and it's ability to tweak levels!
Cons: The foam cups are too shallow and my ears start to hurt a lot after an hour or more of use.
Other Thoughts: The kinda cool part is getting the sub drivers in the headphones going so much that they vibrate! The secret setting to make them work is the bass redirect function for Audigy cards.

WOW
Pros: I have my HPA connected to a Soundblaster Fatal1ty XFi and could not be happier. The annoying sound listed in some of the reviews in gone because they now come with the external power supply.
Cons: Only that I didn't buy all of this equipment sooner.
Other Thoughts: Buy, you won't be disappointed. Get a good surround sound card.

Great headphones
Pros: Great sound, sleek design, great for surround sound in games.
Cons: Hurts your ears after a little while. Foam ear cover falls off pretty easy and can be hard to put back on. Only other thing is that it sound great but the rear speaker channels are weak. All speakers except the rear sound good in games, but as soon as an explosion happens behind you it sounds very weak compared to the left and right speakers.
Other Thoughts: Over all its a good set of gaming headphones.

Best headphones I ever owned.
Pros: Great audio, great bass, playin CSS and get called a hacker even more now with these things.
Cons: The padding, small annoyance for the best headphones I ever owned.
Other Thoughts: The mic detaches, I would also have to buy headphones cuz the mic broke, these things I will have for a while

Complete Garbage
Pros: 5.1 Sound, Includes 5.1 splitter, the microphone is great because it is detachable and is extremly flexible, easily the greatest feature of this headset.
Cons: They're heavy, they have hardly any padding (I thought my Altec Lansing ones were bad!), the control box is made of extremely brittle plastic, by FAR the most uncomfortable headphones I have ever worn.
Other Thoughts: These headphones are so uncomfortable I couldn't even keep them on my head for a minute. I usually am pretty forgiving about the comfort of a product because nothing's perfect but these HURT. I'm getting my $xx back and getting something else.

Amazing expirience with one issue
Pros: -High quality sound -Easy to set up and use -A lot less to worry about than 5.1 speakers
Cons: -It may be easy to drop the controlbox on the floor, and roll over it in your chair -Uncomfortable to wear after long hours
Other Thoughts: Amazing experience with these, I use them more often than my 5.1 speakers. Only problem is after several hours your ears may become sore.
I did find a remedy. if you wear a thick, hooded sweatshirt, and put the headphones over the hood, you get the same sound experience with a lot more padding for your ears.

Pretty good
Pros: Awesome sound when gaming, can customize the sounds to your liking, long cord, being able to disconnect the mic
Cons: Bass pretty much sucks but I'll try what other people have said to turn it up when I get the power cord for the headphones from home, can hurt your ears the first few times you use it then it seems to conform nicely to your head but still hurts a little after extended periods of use like 3 hours+, volume controls somewhat hard to make to your liking, mic connection gets a little loose
Other Thoughts: Awesome headset in general. Great sound except for bass. If you play BF2 or WW2OL you can hear everything with this headset. I recommend these if you can't get a decent 5.1 system.

Pros: Excellent sound quality. The 3D sound is better than what people say. Even though the speakers are so close to your ears, I still can distinguish directional effects.
Cons: As mentioned, padding. I'm not one to complain about headphones. And I realize it can take up to 6 monthes to break in a pair of headphones. But these really do hurt your ears. I've built up my pain level to last 2-3 hours. But you really start to hurt. For me it's nice, because it forces me to not play games all day/night. :)
Other Thoughts: I use the splitter to connect my logitech 2.1 speakers and my headphones. There is a bit of a short in the splitter and sometimes I get static from it. Have to move the cable a bit to make it go away. I use a SBLive 24-Bit sound card.

MY JAW IS DROPPING
Pros: Let me tell you, when i first brought this home... i was very disappointed....i thought the bass sucked, i thought it was too loud. BUT THEN THAT ALL CHANGED! i started to read some of the reviews and i realized i had some tweaking to do with my Creative Audigy THIS IS THE BEST HEADSET EVER!!!! and for the price its a steal... the only other set i was looking at were the Tritton AX360s but this seemed to be offering the same thing without the external box and for about 70.00 lower in price. THE TRICK IS YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR SOUND CARD!! If you have a Creative labs sound card, go to your advanced bass or bass management section on your speaker settings and turn on your BASS REDIRECT on. Now set the frequency to High. Then set you bass volume to high. On your TB headset, set the front, rear, and center gauges to a setting of 5-6. Then set the subwoofer setting to 10. Now play an mp3 that has bass...thats right buddy...your jaw should be dropping right about now! :
Cons: NOTHING...if you got big ears, any headset out there is going to hurt. I played CS all night tonight and i feel fine and i have a big head
Other Thoughts: If your looking for a gaming headset that you can listen to music and watch movies on, this is the set to buy. If your looking for something to listen to music and watch movies, there are better headphones if you fork out more money. For the price, you are getting more than what you paid for with these head phones.

Nice Headphones
Pros: These are great headphones for gaming at night when you can't use your speakers. They sound great and the mic on these is also clear in Team Speak. These give me 5.1 but it is not as good an experince as real 5.1 speakers, but there headphones.
Cons: They can be a little tight at first just need to pull on them to losten them. also the cord is longer than I need just sitting at my desk and I run it over with my chair sometimes.
Other Thoughts: being able to remove the mic is so nice when your not using it also these come with a splitter cable so you can hook up the these and your speakers at the same time.

Meh so so
Pros: 5.1 sound, individual channal adjustment.
Cons: individual channel adjustment, mic that doesn't lock into place, not sound isolating so you get ambient noise, poor sound quality, poor comfort.
Other Thoughts: as you see i put the channel adjustment as a pro and a con. it's a pro because if your using onboard sound you can tweak it with the headphone box. however if you have a good sound card the adjustments should be made there and should not be needed by the headphones.

Are not that good
Pros: none actually
Cons: I gave a lot of thinking before getting a headsets, and this ones are not good. The pressure my ears to hard, that i can't use it for more than 45 minutes. If i can spend some money on a headsets, i wouldnt buy this ones, even if is 5.1, btw not that good. My old plantronics work even better, and very confortable.

Great for games until it wears out.
Pros: Very good for gaming. You can tell exectly where someone is when its set up correctly. Helped out my gameplay alot.
Cons: FALLING APART. The nice leatherish strap that goes over your head falls apart. 2 months after i got it the one of the straps plastic ends just came off, exposing the elastic holding it together. About a week later the other side went. The elastic is on its last legs now and about to break (i just ordered a sennheiser headset because of this) Like the others said it hurts your head. I feel like I just got out of a boxing match everytime Im on the comp for more than an hour. LAST. The mike is held in by a 3.5mm jack. After about 4-5 months it loosened up to the point where if i move my head it swings into my mouth or away from my head. Really ticks me off.
Other Thoughts: I was exceptionally disappointed with Turtle Beach Tech Support. They not only didnt help me but they never responded. There is no tel. support. Only email. I sent 2 emails to them a week apart. No answer. 2 months later I get an email which i hoped was a very late response that turned out to be an advertisement. I AM NEVER GOING TO BUY ANYTHING FROM TURTLE BEACH AGAIN. Good Luck

Pretty good!
Pros: Surround sound, Very loud, great for games, COMFORTABLE (contrary to what others have said). I like the removable mic and individual volume control. I also like the pass through cables so that you don't have to disconnect your speakers to use the headphones.
Cons: They are really big (you look like princess leah when you have them on). The sound quality is decent although there is not that much bass and the directional sound could be better, but these are the best (and if I'm not mistaken, the only) 5.1+ channel headphones you can get. May not be the best for music per se', but for games, it's the best 5.1 solution I've found.
Other Thoughts: It is really nice not having to change my speaker settings from 5.1 channel to 2 channel whenever I play games online or use teamspeak. I HATED that.

Just OK
Pros: Sound is OK for gaming. LOUD. True surround sound is great for certain games. Fragrate increased significantly switching from computer speakers.
Cons: Uncomfortable, I got a second pair of cushions from the manufacturer and its much better now. I blew some of the speakers and have a mean rattle. Sound quality is too low for music or movies.
Other Thoughts: My friend has a pair of Sennheiser HD 485 headphones and they are crystal clear, great for music, and he can hear every noise that I can without blowing his ears or speakers out. They are not 5.1 surround, but if I could do it over I would buy those.

Great for Gaming
Pros: Awesome sound in games. Great for CS you can tell where every sound is coming from.
Cons: Not the best for music. But how good they are in game makes up for it. Not the most comfortable headset. Took a couple of weeks to get used to them. Also had to mess around with my computer settings to get them to work right.
Other Thoughts: Once you get past the initial bugs and get them running right, they are the best set of headphones around for gaming.

yuck
Pros: I guess on some level these headphones are ok for gaming. The mic is nice and flexible.
Cons: oh boy where do I begin...
1. The ear pieces fall off all the time.
2. The front right speaker comes out of the left earcup.
3. They are the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn.
4. Movies and music sound awful.
Other Thoughts: I'm going to spend a good 2-300 dollars on a nice pair of headphones this time and I suggest you do the same if you have the money.

Very nice
Pros: Ok heres the thing.. these babies are awsome but there is alot of tinkering involved. I have mine paired up with an X-Fi Extreme music. BF2 on ultra high sound is amaising and you can here everyone before they are even in site.
Cons: doesnt play music that well.. but the gaming makes up for that 10 fold
Other Thoughts: If you are into gaming.. Get a pair of these babies.. Mic is also a very good design.

Good headset
Pros: Comfortable, good sound quality, good sound reproduction, easy to setup, I could go on and on. This is a great headset for gaming.
Cons: My only complaint so far is that the left ear cover wants to fall off. It only takes a couple of minutes to put it back on and if I don't rip the headset off my head then it doesn't come off in the first place.
Other Thoughts: I use this headset for BF2. It is a night and day difference from my 2.1 speakers going to this headset. I can hear people sneaking up behind me, I can hear and locate vehicles long before I can see them, and the microphone is perfect for communicating with my squad. If you're looking to improve your game, but can't afford 5.1 speakers or don't have room, definitely consider this headset.

Complete review!
Pros: -It has surround sound -Mic is built in to headphones -They look good -Bass is boomy -Volume control built in to cord -Solid construction -Nothing failed after a year of travel and hard use -I use these headphones for first person gaming rather than my 2 channel $xxx Sony
Cons: Simply put these headphones hurt. I first had to bend them outward as to not crush my head. Once I did that the pain came from the inside of the headphones. They simply need more padding to bring the headphone farther from the ear. I don't have large ears and they start hurting in about 30-45 minutes. I'm a competitive gamer so I force myself to wear them for matches. Also, the headphones are not sealed so if you crank up the volume people can hear exaclty what you're listening to. It took a lot of tunning with the channel volume controls to get the surround sounds even. Once I got it right I actually taped the channel levels in place. To much money for what you get! Go cheaper or go somewhere else!
Other Thoughts: The sound quality is like a $xx pair of Sony headphones. I still find it a joy to move back to my MDR-V6 headphones. If you are not use to Sony $xx headphones you will like the sound but if you are then you will dislike the sound quality. Even if you have small ears you will get pain from these headphones because there isn't enough padding.

so far so good
Pros: Plugs directly into sound card, this is not a USB headset. So, there is no drain on your CPU.
Cons: Hurts the head after 30 minutes. BUT, the headset is made so well that I was able to bend it so it fits like a glove. No more issue.
Other Thoughts: I have pretty much purchased every headset I found. So far, this one seems best.

Great Sound, while it lasted
Pros: Great sound localization, and skull thumping bass when tweak your Soundblaster's Bass setting. Awesome volume, quite comfortable. The headset itself is built quite nice.
Cons: The weakest link, the quick disconnect on the wire from the headset to the amp. I have kids, so I constantly connect/disconnect the connector. There is no match-up markings so you're always pushing and spinning to get it to go together. My pins are bent after 1 month, and one of them broke off, leaving me without my left-rear channel (quite annoying).
This is quite severe, as I can pick up a pair of Sennheisers with much higher sound quality in 2.1 which is what I'm having to run this headset in now.
Other Thoughts: Don't get this set if you have young children around as eventually you will ruin the quick disconnect constantly disconnecting/reconnecting, also the foam earpiece slips off with the flick of a finger. So several times a day I found myself spending several minutes a piece trying to put the dang thing back on.

Just keep tweaking...
Pros: Absolutely clear sound, deep and powerful subwoofer, decent surround-sound effects. Great price for any quality headphones, let alone ones with such capabilities.
Cons: Very, VERY uncomfortable at first. Amplifier's individual-channel volume setting is worthless. It did take a lot of effort to get really good sound with music.
Other Thoughts: Out of the packaging, these did sound pretty good with games, but they were atrocious with music of any kind (it had a kind of high-pitched static at all times, and wasn't clear or crisp at all- I think that this was because the subwoofer was playing when it shouldn't have been). I own a Creative Audigy 2 ZS though, and by playing with the included software (all good sound-cards have something), I got better results- mostly by lowering the subwoofer's frequency cutoff (so that it only played on the low notes). As I noted though, surround directional-awareness is ok at best. I think that it's worth noting that despite exceptional workmanship on the headphones themselves, HPA really skimped on padding. There is a roll of foam maybe the thickness of your pinky around the edges, and nothing at all for padding in the middle where your ear sits against the cans. Lickily it's really easy to replace the outer padding, and I also used a couple of layers of paper-towel to help with the hardness.

Torture
Pros: Decent Surround sound for headphones. Very easy to install. Not much tweaking needed to get good sound.
Cons: Most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn in my life. Mic tends to spin around a bit and if u smoke it's easy to burn the mic boom with ur Cig. Sub isn't very loud. Rears aren't very loud.
Other Thoughts: All in All I'd say save some cash. I paid over 100 bucks at a walk in store for these. If they were comfortable they might be worth it but they aren't comfortable AT ALL.

Awsome 5.1 Headphones
Pros: My old 5.1 headphone set were the Kinyo KY-100 5.1 Headphones, and I thought those were great. I had them for around a year. Sadly one of the earcups broke off.
I had to find a replacement, and I stumbled upon these and boy am I glad I did. The 5.1 on these is amazing! The surround sound in truely there; in gaming you can hear enemies, or team mates behind you, and as they go in front it blends into the front smoothly and without any interruption.
DVD's sound near theature like, and the 5.1 is just as amazing.
I love the fact that these headphones have an amplifier, and volume control for all channels. Also the built-in adjustable mic is wonderful.
Cons: Causes pain not on the ears directly, but the head bone just above the ears; this is due to thin padding, you'll get used to it though eventually; but don't let that steer you from these amazing 5.1 headphones!
Other Thoughts: An amazing product, better than the Kinyo KY-100 headphones, as the surround seems more true to the actual thing. I highly recommend these headphones.

Pros: Overall great sound. Really like the control of the speakers with overall volume and individule speaker settings
Cons: The padding on the headset is really thin. My ears actually come in contact with the speaker surface making these uncomfortable after awhile. For the cost, I would think that this should not have been an issue.

Good for gaming
Pros: 1) You need to have the Audigy drivers installed 2) You need to have the Audigy PlayCenter software installed 3) You need to make sure that CMSS is enabled in the Creative Audio Console.
Cons: Tight! Even when stretched out but I have a big head.....
Other Thoughts: Very well built. Solid!

Great for LAN Parties
Pros: These are by far the best 5.1 headphones for BF2 and Quake 4 I have used. Fit was good they're not to heavy the mic works great. Sounds great with my Audigy sound card. Mite be even better with the X-Fi!?
Cons: Need for external power. Should have USB power or run at 12V so you could tap power from PSU.
Other Thoughts: Would be better if it was a standalone system with it's own USB 5.1 sound card biult in and USB power as mentioned earlier.

Nice build quality
Pros: This is my second set of 5.1 headphones (The first being Kinyo KY-100's). I did a good bit of research, compared the brands and read the reviews before buying. Overall, I am happy with the Turtle Beach Product. The headphones themselves have a nice build quality. A number of parts are metal as opposed to plastic, and while they feel substantial they are not heavy. As far as channel separation, I think it's purely subjective. Turtle Beach recommends that you leave the separate volume controls maxed and (using the master volume to adjust levels) only use the channel volumes to fine tune the surround sound effect. So far I am happy with the result. The sound is crisp and while the separation is not the greatest, it is an improvement over stereo headphones.
Cons: I did not find the headphones uncomfortable, but being a 7 1/4 hat size, I can see how those with large heads might. I also thought that the bass sounded rather anemic and experienced no "rumble" effect until I read a comment somewhere that suggested that with the Audigy 2 sound card you needed to adjust the bass crossover frequency. By default, this option wasn't even enabled on my card- after adjusting it though, the bass was much improved. I know Creative and Turtle Beach are competitor's but it would have been nice to see this in a faq or readme somewhere- in light of the fact that the Audigy is a very common sound card.

awsome
Pros: amazing sub woofer sound quality great with 5.1 removable mic feel the shaking amazing ingame
Cons: removable mic semi uncomfortable, i dont find them so uncomfortable, but i do notice them after about an hour or 2.
Other Thoughts: I recomment these. i was looking at another and my friend recomended these. these are the best in the price range. i feel like im at the concert or im in the middle of a battle. CoD2, CS:S, BF2, Quake4, FEAR, UT04, FARCRY. all these games sound great, i can pinpoint enemmies and most of the people i play wiht think i have wallhacks, i just can hear where they are. witht the spliter it comes with, i can use my 5.1 when just causal gaming. the mic is great too, except it is prone to being lost. i havent lost it yet but it is very flexable and can be moved out of the way very easy. i highly recommend them.

MIC Broke
Pros: There are three speakers in each side of the headphones... They sound great! The splitter works wonders if you use speakers/headphones!
Cons: -Padding on headphones is poor for about the first week and then they eventually stretch out. My MIC does no work any more... I've gave Turtle Beach a fax and a E-mail regarding the issue. They have yet to get back to me.
Other Thoughts: Splitter Is GREAT! I couldn't find it anywhere except here! Thanks NEWEGG!

Extremely Uncomfrotable
Pros: They look cool, the've got enough volume to blow your ears, they got separate channel amplifiers, and a very slick cord that won't crows up your desktop. Also, when you turn up the base on the amp control, they actually vibrate. Real cool with games like BF2.
Cons: EXTREMELY uncomfortable. At first it seems ok, but after wearing for about an hour, your ears will hurt (not because of the sound). The problem is that there's only a quarter inch of foam, but there's lots of tension, so your ears have lots of physical stress. It becomes painful.
Other Thoughts: I'm looking for away to improve the foam situation. going from 2 channel to 5.1 headphones did make a difference in sound, but not a significant difference.
Buy them if you don't care about the money, otherwise it's not the best value.

A descent set of headphones
Pros: Good construction quality Light Weight Good sound quality
Cons: Channel separation isn't on par with real 5.1 speakers Lots of wires
Other Thoughts: I have a creative x-fi fatality sound card and klipsch promedia 5.1 speakers on my pc and wanted a 5.1 headset that would sound descent for late night gaming and listening to music. When I saw this headset and that they used the speaker outputs on the soundcard I was interested. I went ahead and purchased them and and pretty much satisfied with them. I wish that the front and rear speakers had more separation especially when gaming. If you're looking for a 5.1 headset that shares your sound cards speaker outputs then I believe that this is the only one that can do it.

Review
Pros: Good bass (actually sounds nice and vibrates), good surround sound, good setup. Good for gaming.
Cons: The sound quality is an issue. There are some sound levels that the headphones just dont seem able to produce clearly. If you are looking for all around clarity for music and related then dont purchase this, you will be disappointed. However if you are just a gamer than these are pretty decent.
Other Thoughts: Overall they are decent and the surround sound sounds good, but some clarity and quality issues.

Can't beat 'em!
Pros: Awesome sound reproduction. 5.1 sound in a set od headphones is wonderful, fully immerses you in any experience. Very stylish and sturdy. I love playing games with these... makes the game much more cinematic. The headphones come with a dongle so you can have your 5.1 speaker and headphones hooked up at the same time!
Cons: The padding on teh earcups is lacking a little bit. I would not say that these are uncomfortable though. They require an external power source.
Other Thoughts: These headphones are a joy. I play a lot of pc games. My fiance hates hearing all of the gunfire and explosions (she says it scares the cats). I bought these to replace a pair of old 2.1 headphones that broke when they fell off of my desk... I think these are sturdy enough to drop down an elevator shaft!

Very nice set of headphones
Pros: Very good sound and adjustment i use them with a Audigy 2 ZS and have tried them with several games, cod2, bf2, HL2 etc...
Cons: they are uncomfortable at first. but as I found it was simply because they were NEW with a bit of "training" as i call it ( i left them on one of my kid's balls about the size of ur head over night) and they no longer squeeze your head.
Other Thoughts: I've wore them for over 8 hours straight with out any uncomfortable side effects. I really like the amplifier and in-line volume control.

Nice
Pros: Very nice and loud. Can tell a difference from my old headphones.
Cons: VERY!! uncomfortable after 10 minutes of use. Ear wells are not very deep. Kinda fixxed by stuffing cotton in between the cushon.
Other Thoughts: people say the bass shakes while they play bf2, and cod 2. I don't know why but i don't get this...wish i would though. Nice and loud though

Serve purpose
Pros: It serves its purpose. Exactlly what I expected. Well made product.
Cons: None really
Other Thoughts: If you have a pretty good surround system , don't expect this to take there place. The seperation isn't as good with the head phone or the base. They are excellent for late night gaming though

Okay... but fragile.
Pros: -Music sounds great -Decent in COD2, BF2
Cons: -Uncomfortable -Rear is too quiet, front too overpowering -Deadzone in the center, even with center adjusted all the way up. -Developed a rattling noise in the left earcan after 6 days of use, not dropped once.
Other Thoughts: There's definately better fish in the sea than these headphones. Hold on to your 80 bucks for something better, I wish I had, because I have to buy a new set of headphones... These are not acceptable for long use and the dead/quiet areas in the sound field are detrimental to certain games.

I am impressed
Pros: Amazing sounds quality. You truly do get surround sound with them. I love them for games like Raven Shield and BF2. Convenient level controls. You can adjust each chenel's volume independantly. They do not have a USB power source, so you dont have to worry about those weird interferences from the USB. They even come with a splitter so you can have both your speaker system and headphone system plugged in at the same time. I personally think they look good too.
Cons: Like others have mentioned, the ear-wells are a bit shallow and put a bit of pressure on the ears which can get a bit uncomfortable after extended use, but for most headphones I've used, this same problem comes up.
Other Thoughts: I have not had a chance to use the mic yet. I might try to write an additional review for it once I give it a true evaluation (meaning VoIP durring a LAN perty).

Pros: -Front, Center, Rear, Bass audio adjustments on Amp. -Volume range -Can fit almost any size head (not ears) comfortably -Easily removable mic
Cons: -Extremely painful for my ears. The depth of the foam padding is extremely shallow. I have to adjust/remove headphone after about 5 min.

Pros: Overall sound clarity and volume are incredible, the bass is really amazing when playing games like call of duty 2, if a grenade goes off near you or something, you really feel it, makes for a more immersive gaming experience, microphone works great
Cons: not 100% as far as the actual surround sound in games and movies but what do you expect with all the speakers crammed together? The earphones are painful after extended use, added some extra padding and not a problem now, weight not a problem, only real complaint is no mute button for the microphone but it's easy enough to just unplug

Could Go Either Way On These...
Pros: LOUD (I like loud). The built-in amps for each channel make a HUGE difference compared to what comes directly out of your sound card. The subwoofers actually WILL vibrate, if you crank the bass and volume high enuff. They 'look' good, if that matters.
Cons: Cable management is a major concern. This thing is LOADED with cables and you have to put them all SOMEWHERE. I am surprised at the construction quality. I was actually expecting it to be HIGHER, but to me they have something of a cheap, flimsy feel. As mentioned in prior reviews, the ear cavities could definitely be DEEPER and the earcup padding THICKER. I haven't worn them for long periods and don't plan to, so pain probably won't be an issue for me. I will never use the mic, so can't comment on its functionality, or lack thereof, either.
Other Thoughts: It seems to me that if a bit more attention to detail had been paid to comfort and construction, this could have been a superior product. As it is, however, I can only rate it as 'Good'. The NewEgg price made it easier for me to take a chance on these. Overall, no regrets (so far).

Decent set of phones
Pros: So far I have had no issues with these headphones. Good sound, strudy enough construction that even my 5 year old son has used them numerous times and no problems.
Cons: Not really any that I can think of.

Awesome
Pros: Awesome headphones and I couldn't be happier with them! They sound great, the bass feedback thingy is absolute amazing. I used to wear the zalman surround sound headphones and therefore I am not complaining about discomfort. They feel just right. I forced the metal bow a bit apart and now there are perfect. Sound quality is also great. I love them and gaming is twice as fun! Cool stuff!
Cons: None so far in my book.

Great Headphones, worth the upgrade
Comments: You will enjoy these headphones. I love the Y Splitter that allows you to keep your existing external speakers. The comfort issue is fixed by stretching the headphone wires out a few times and then they won't pinch your ears. Sound is very nice but takes awhile to appreciate. You expect perfect surround sound, but honestly if you have a good 5.1 setup already, you aren't going to really notice an improvement. These are nice though when the situation calls for headphones. They will crank up load too! I am recommending a set of these to my brother so I would definately recommend them to others as well.

Great Sound.. but OUCH
Comments: These earphones give great surround sound. Not quite the same as a true 5.1 setup, but for my family who have no desire to hear my war games echoing throughout the house, these are great.
DOWNSIDE.. the ear padding is extremely thin... and the speaker covering is shallow within the ear peace and is ver solid. So these things hurt like crazy after about 30mins to an hour. If only they had thicker padding, they would be perfect.

Great Sound, Solidly Built
Comments: Wonderfully sounding headphones. Quality is top notch and great control with the remote built in to the headphone cable. The only bad thing is that they do hurt your ears after a while and cause some pain on your head. The ear muffs are too shallow.

Solid Headphones
Comments: The headphones itself is very well built despite the somewhat cheap remote for it that controls the volumes. As for the padding, it's not problem once you adjust the two wire frames a bit to relieve the pressure from your ears.
As for the item's main selling point:
1.) SOUND QUALITY - Rock solid, love the feedback and vibe that the subwoofer gives. Best set of headphones I've had for this price.
2.) SURROUND SOUND - Doesn't substitute an actual speaker setup, but it usually does the job (sometimes the surround sound is put out awkwardly). Great if you don't want to disturb others, but if you want theater quality surround, look at speakers.

Decent Headset
Comments: This headset is very nice for anything you do on the computer really i gave it a 4 because the padding isnt 100%.. but the sound is unbelivable. It has a 12volt AC Adapter that needs to be in the outlet for the sound other than that its really nice.

Thin Pads & Not Great Sound
Comments: I would have to agree with Jeff and Trojanman's review. The padding was to thin for me and this made it uncomfortable to wear for longer than an a hour. They pads also retain the heat and adds to the discomfort. I expected to have very good positional sound but was very dissapointed. I did a lot of research on this product before I purchased it and it got mixed reviews. The one thing they did get right is that these headphones don't discern between the front and rear speakers too well. I have a set of Kxxs Portapros 2 that sound a whole lot better and for less price. The sound card that I was using was Creative's new X-Fi. I'm still going to search for a good gaming headset.

Painfully Good
Comments: First, this is a good sounding headset. Feels solid and has a mic that comes out and is very adjustable. Unfortunately, this headset becomes painful, merging on torturous, after about 30 min. I have experimented with hats and rolled up tube socks to increase my duration (yeah, my girlfriend has been trying to sneak pics of me!). Sound quality is great, and as soon as my headset helmet comes in the mail, i can use them again ;)

Uncomfortable/painful
Comments: The immediate feelings I got with these headphone were how uncomfortable they are. The problem is the padding is so minimal, the hard surface presses against your ears which starts out as uncomfortable and in a short amount of time, turns into a dull pain. My ears are NOT big, in fact probably smaller than normal and they do not stick out. If properly designed, the headphones would be supported against your head by the padding, and NOT by your ears. There is approx. ½" of padding both thick and wide and that is it. Most people's ears stick out more than ½"-- unless you were born without outer ears. --- With that said, the quality of audio is almost unimportant since your attention isn't on what you are listening to, but the dull pain of your ears. Surround reproduction is subtle to weak. Bass is not very strong.
I expected better quality throughout with these. Please post my review.
I am using a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs

Excellent!!!!
Comments: I want to say that I have 15 years pro audio experience from live bands to film, so I am pretty sure I know what I'm talking about when it comes to sound...With that said, I placed the order for these at 10:30am here in TN & had them overnighted to me. By 9:30 the next morning they were in my hands. Excellent shipping service from Fedex & prompt processing by Newegg!! Now on to the Turtle Beach HPA's: They (simply put) rock! Especially with a little sound card tweaking, they will blow your head off! I play Counter Strike Source & never have I heard things quite like this. I was using Sony 7506's & they were clear but didn't have the texture or bottom end that these have to offer. The built in subs will pound your head & I didn't think I would like the vibration but, it is subtle enough blending with the subs that you actually just feel everything...It's really crazy how that they came up with these but, I think it is a great design. I did however have to "re-size" the headphones just a bit. They were really really tight right out of the box so I had to tweak the fit just a touch but, once they were adjusted they are quite comfortable. DVD's? My measurement of choice for these headphones was the Omaha Beach scene from Saving Private Ryan...All I can say is wow! I heard everything in such cool positioning & clarity that is hard to replicate with a theater speaker system. Mainly because with the headphones, there isn't ambient room noise or distance, just pure enjoyment. The microphone plug in under the left ear using a standard 1/8th inche plug...The mic itself extends on a tiny "gooseneck" that is far more adjustable than any other headset I have ever seen! The microphone is very clear & robust in texture. An extremely nice touch if you do online gaming or conversations over the internet. The amplifier that comes with the headphones really powers these headphones properly...Instead of relying on your computer to push them enough, you've got all the power you need to crank them beyond any normal listening level. Music sounds good too. Kick drums & bass guitars really thump in 5.1 mode. If your soundcard is set to stereo, the sound is only pushed through the front speakers, therefore 5.1 mode should always be used with these to really show their potential! If you are looking for a wonderful headphone experience for gaming or DVD's, you have to get these!

Excellent, but a few small flaws...
Comments: This headset package is pretty darn sweet. The are of excellent quality and durability, and boast an impressive package around them. They even come with splitters so you can keep your current 5.1 system connected!
This headset does have problems though, I bought 2 of these buggers and they both had the same issues. 1.) They are not padded very well... after about 20 minutes your ears will hurt very badly and after an hour they will be numb. Im looking into padding to help correct this but out of the box they are very uncomfortable. 2.) They are very, very light on bass. When the subwoofer isnt kicking in, you have very litle bass with these things. I have my bass at 100% and my trebble at 50% and they still arent as heavy as I would like for music and such. 3.) The coveres over each ear cup seem to come off quite easily. One was off when I opened the package. However, it went back on with no problems. 4.) They do NOT give 5.1. They do have 8 speakers total but dont put these on and expect to get a full 5.1 experience. I was very disapointed with that aspect. The center channel works perfectly but the front and rear channels sound the same. Not good.
I would have given these guys a 3 if it wasnt for a few things.... 1.) THE BASS VIBRATOR IS AWESOME! BF2 never sounded so good! I actually enjoy artillery strikes on my headbecause now i can FEEL them!!!! If everything else about these headphones had sucked, I still would have gotten them for this feature... stuff thats powerful really SOUNDS powerful now. Absolutely awesome. 2.) The package is just brilliant. They give you a very high quality mic detachable mic and an amplifier. Also, these headsets look like a 400 pound dude could sit on them and they would still work, they are very durable.
Some fast notes: 1.) They dont block sound well but they allow air to get to your ears. 2.) You wont get the bass vibrating thing unless you have the option wiht your sound card to change the bass crossover frequceny. Without this you wont be able to feel the best part of these headphones, that vibrating subwoofer.
My sound card is a new Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value. Off of newegg of course. =)

Superior Sound, less than comfortable
Comments: I bought these only days before Newegg got them, at a cheaper price. The sound is extremely good, amp works well with separate controlls for each speaker. It even comes with a 5.1 splitter for multiple headsets at once. The comfort level however is poor. I have used zalmans 5.1 before and they have excellent sound and superior comfort, but no mic boom. These headsets can be adjusted by pulling them apart, but the muffs around the speaker are still too shallow and after a hour or two become an irritant for your ears.

Comments: I bought a pair of these headphones from Voyetra cause they were so new that Newegg was'nt carrying them yet but let me tell you these headphones shake your head into next year, so if you are looking for 5.1 headphones there is no better pair. $20 cheaper on Newegg also.

Best I've ever used!
Comments: I too bought these headphones from the manufacturer because they were so new that New Egg didn't carry them yet. $20 cheaper here on New Egg! Exceptional sound! They sport an amplifier that boosts the signal and has dials to change the amount of boost for front, center, rear and subwoofer. WOW! I listen to a lot of classical music which in every other headset I've used causes them to get REALLY muddy on the bass end or over power the speakers and cause them to "bass out". Not with these babies. Just be careful if you purchase them; it would be easy enough to damage your hearing from listening to them too loud because the sound is so awesome. I'd have gladly paid $200 for them!!!!!

Excellent PC Headphones
Comments: Ordered these from the MFG's website for more $$$ because NewEgg didn't have them listed yet. These are for the PC, not the XBOX. NewEgg has the wrong info posted for these, they list the info for the AXT model which is similar, but for the XBOX. These are comfy, sound great and the build quality seems excellent.
