Solid Unit. Performs well
Pros: Works as advertised, power keeps flowing when the plug is pulled. The provided software, PowerPanel Personal Edition has a decent UI, a decent set of features and information, and seems fairly bug free. Powering a Core 2 Duo E6750 with 4GByes, 4 hard disks and an Nvidia 6600 (system draws about 100 - 120 watts), the battery will last about 25 minutes (no monitor included).
Cons: The system has an "autorestart" function: After line power is restored, the system waits about 70 seconds, and then briefly power-cycles the battery-powered outlets (the power is cut briefly, for a second or two and then restored). An attached computer will sense the off-then-on power cycle and, depending on BIOS settings, restart the computer. (Otherwise there would be no automatic way to restart a computer that has done an orderly shutdown on battery power.) This is all a good thing.
However, if the power goes out, the computer shuts down, the power gets restored, and then during the next 70 seconds (before the autorestart power-cycle happens) the power goes out again, then when the power comes on the 2nd time the system does not perform the autorestart function, which means any attached PC does not get restarted. So there is a 70 second window during which a 2nd power outtage will leave any attached PCs in a permanent off state.

Hmmm...not bad!
Pros: ~15 mins loaded up.
Cons: Can't turn on or work at all without a battery.
Other Thoughts: 1/2 egg off because my UPS battery died in just 3 years without HEAVY power drain. 1/2 egg off because the UPS won't even turn on with a dead battery. This means that you can't even use it as a surge supressor until you replace the battery. The 4 eggs are for reliability. I've observed maybe 4 power lapses and 1 outage where it went for ~30 minutes in 2 years. The last one (the outage) killed the battery so completely that the UPS wouldn't turn back on - replaced it and it's working fine again.
It lasts ~15 mins with a few devices plugged into it. I'm trying to make a profile of all my UPS units, seeing what they run for how long. Never believe the runtimes posted because they're just not true even under ideal circumstances.
U-Verse Residential Gateway and 3 External Hard drives and the UPS battery is drained in ~15 mins.

PowerPanel Personal Edition SW
Pros: This a very good backup and works really good
Cons: The PowerPanel Personal Edition SW has a problem; not every reboot it start working so you don't have any indication about the status of your UPS. But if you take it off from the startup list and start it manually it works great but you cannot minimize it to your task bar. The manufacture solution is to send you a Serial Cable and work with Windows UPS; well the new Motherboards don't have a Serial port!!! I hope they will come soon with a new SW version that does work when you boot your computer.
Other Thoughts: None

Very good UPS
Pros: Good backup capacity, USB interface, useful software. Responsive tech support. UPS worked great until...
Cons: ...the battery in mine died after about a year. Contacted CyberPower tech support and they sent me a replacement under warranty.
Other Thoughts: For reference, this UPS uses a B&B HR9-12T2 battery. You can find these online for about $30, if yours is out of warranty.

Excellent UPS
Pros: I bought 2 of these 3yrs ago, they work great and am very pleased.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: In my area power does go off often for a brief second, and sometimes for several minutes, but these keep my pc's up and running.

Poor Backup ability
Pros: At first it worked properly without fault.
Cons: After only a few months of use, this UPS no longer works as expected. 3/4th of the time, it misses power outages and gives an overload signal. Yet only item on battery backup is my computer CPU. I have tested my max load of my computer and it never exceeds 3 amps or 345watts. This is nowhere near the rated capacity of the UPS and I should not be seeing any overloads. I have tried contacting the manufacturer with no success. Always get a line busy signal.
Other Thoughts: I recommend going with APC. I own other UPS's from APC and none of them have given me this many problems.
Manufacturer Response:My apologies for your issues with the CyberPower unit. The CP800AVR is an extremely solid UPS for us and we’ve had very few issues. Please give us a call so we can troubleshoot why the unit is detecting an overload. I must also apologize for you not being able to reach our technical support --- unfortunately our telecom line was spotty during the last week of August. We moved into a new facility on September 1st and the network/telecom transition didn’t go as smoothly as we hoped due to the holiday weekend and contractor vacations. Everything will be running 100% by September 5th, so please be sure to call us. Once again, I do apologize for this inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding. CyberPower (877-297-6937).

All customers
Pros: Works like a UPS only provides backup power when there is none.
Cons: Only boosts AC volts up when down to 90vac (Which all AVR UPS do) this will cause your PC power supply to fail and computer reboot. Also does nothing for protections and power quality only true double conversion UPS do. Which also provides a true 120VAC 60hz sign wave. Line interactive UPS do not. These UPS's are only for back up power nothing to do with Power quality. Some people should research before thinking they know what a UPS is for.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for purchasing the CyberPower CP800AVR. Compact and equipped with AVR line conditioning, this model is designed for Home & Office applications. It also provides full dataline protection to your phone, network, broadband, and coax/cable equipment. PowerPanel software showcases the abilities of this UPS such as input/output voltage, self-diagnostics, schedules shutdowns, and backup/runtime

Good as any
Pros: High power, low cost.
Cons: Same failure rate as the name brand UPS's.
Other Thoughts: I install lots of UPS's in client environments. Have tried 3 different brands with about the same, high, failure rate of each. Might as well pay less for more amperage. When they failed during the warranty period, newegg.com stepped up and helped me replace them. I treasure newegg as a vendor.
Manufacturer Response:The CyberPower CP800AVR UPS is the ideal unit for basic to mid-level computer systems. The 800AVR not only guards against surges, spikes, sags, and brownouts, but also protects your computer system and valuable data during a power outage. All CyberPower UPs models are covered by a 3 year warranty - one of the best in the industry!

Horrible
Pros: None
Cons: Had over 20 of them fail in various locations - office and home. While they seem to handle blackouts, they drop power completely during short periods (less than 1 sec) of interruption. At work we had 4 occassions of short power outage and 50% of the computers on these UPSes rebooted. At home, wife turns on vacuum and my computer reboots because of the momentary power drop. Manufacturer replaced ~10 of them directly, but doesn't admit any problem.
Other Thoughts: First time I have ever owned a UPS that creates the problem that it is supposed to prevent.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for the feedback on our CP800AVR. Our electrical engineers, in our Quality Control National Laboratories, performed electrical tests on the units you returned. A variety of charge profiles were investigated and characterized. Our results were inconclusive. We would like to talk with you regarding your usage of these units to further trouble shot the problem. Please contact our Tech Support Dept at 1-877-297-6937.

Wow - Impressive
Pros: Up to 200k worth of protection!! protects phone/cable connections, along with USB/Firewire connections, very stable, software closes apps and auto saves files and shuts down comp. without having to worry about running to your machine to shut it down - Protects against power surges, and regulates improper voltages and power -
Cons: None thus far.
Other Thoughts: For the price, protection and warrenty this is a great deal - I have sold 30+ cyberpower UPS backup systems (various models) over the past 4 years, NONE have failed, no RMA's, all have good batteries to my knowledge and have worked flawless when the power went out -

Two Blown in a year.
Pros: In the past year I have used a CyberPower UPS, I have yet to be impressed or satisfied with any features offered by this product.
Cons: My unit has never behaved (beep and light como's) in a way that corresponded with the included instructions. My unit blew up on me last spring (blown as in a loud pop and white smoke), and I spent $20 shipping to get it fixed. Last week, the unit blew up again in the exact same manner.
Other Thoughts: I have a 300W non-CyberPower UPS running a different PC that was not blown either time, so I doubt my house is a power spiking nightmare. I have no confidence in CyberPowers products, and will be avoiding this brand from here on out.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for informing us of your experience with our product. First off, I’d like to apologize for the problems that you have been having. Seeing that the same exact problem has happened twice, there might be an issue of improper grounding. Many late model houses are not wired correctly and require additional grounding for the unit to perform properly. Unfortunately, when outlets are not grounded properly, the UPS takes the blunt of the surge (instead of safely sending it back to the outlet). Fortunately, CyberPower units are designed to divert this energy and trip the internal circuit breaker --- this safeguards all of your electronics that are connected to the unit. Please be sure to contact our technical support (toll free) and we’ll be able to determine the cause of the problem and hopefully prevent it from happening in the future. Thanks, CyberPower.

CyberPower has never failed me
Pros: 8 outlets (4 battery + surge, 4 surge only). Low profile plug. Well written and useful software.
Cons: Battery not replaceable. USB plug not pass through. Gets a bit warm.
Other Thoughts: I had one of the 3 surge + battery CyberPower PSUs, but wanted to plug in my WAP for my home wireless network into the battery outlets. So I decided to upgrade to this unit. The power outages don't last long, it's mostly dips, surges, and blackouts a minute or less. I installed the software, then connected the PSU and it detected just fine on my XP Home PC. The software minimizes to the system tray, and puts your PC into hibernation rather than shutting it off. That's fine if you have everything saved, but if you have files open that you haven't saved, you can kiss them goodbye. The software also has a real time monitor of how much juice is left in the battery, whether it's running off of battery or outlet power, and whether the surge protector is dampening or stepping up the flow from your outlet. It also shows you when the last few power incidents were, and what the PSU did to correct them. All in all, great software, and a great PSU. Buy it.

Good stuff
Pros: Ended up buying three of these. Very good rig. Has the coax connectors for CATV, etc. to protect those items too. Works just fine.
Cons: none

Lovely
Pros: This thing is so smart! It knows how much power you are drawing from it. I love how it connects to the computer and has specialized software rather than the OS power manager.
Cons: It is rather warm. That is the only thing that is not a good thing. Everything is wonderful about this.
Other Thoughts: Buy it, you will not regret it.

Pros: Plug it in and away i go.
Cons: after two months the unit started beeping and continued to power off, causing my computer to crash.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments and concerns regarding this unit. The issue of beeping and powering off is most likely caused from a poor battery. Please be sure to contact our technical support and we’ll ship you a new battery free-of-charge. All our UPSs carry a 3-year warranty and are backed by a #1 rated tech support. Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience. CyberPower.

Pros: Easy installation and works fine
Cons: The run time on my system is shown as 7 min which is not even close to what is advertised on the box. I am not really surprised but somewhat disappointed.

it works
Pros: Worked right away... no problems so far.
Cons: Had some trouble getting the software to work with Win2KPro but a few reboots and plugging and unplugging of the USB got it going.
Other Thoughts: Keeps a gaming PC, 17inch CRT, cable modem, and router going for 10+ minutes. More than enough time to save and shutdown. Software automatically shuts down PC at your specifications.
