beowolfrex Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	8/17/2007 12:56:04 PM Buy this game! Pros: One of the most beautiful games to date, graphics are amazing. Gameplay is awesome and innovative. One of the most noteworthy things about this game is the multiplayer aspect of it. Whether it's just you and a buddy, a system link with a few friends, or your chainsawing somebody on LIVE. Cons: The story seems a bit short, but a large part of that is once you start playing you won't want to turn your console off. Other Thoughts: Gameplay is a little different from other shooters but not in a bad way. This game is the reason I bought an XBOX 360 period. Did you find this review helpful? This makes number 3 on my personal top 5 game list. Graphics, multiplayer, and weapons combine to give you the best gaming experience to date. Requiemofshadow Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	2/8/2007 11:41:49 AM Perhaps the greatest game ever made Pros: Greatest graphics ever seen in a video game. Great storyline. Funnest multiplayer in any next gen game. Halo should quake in fear, because I believe we have a winner for the best of the best. Cons: None involving gameplay. Storyline was way to short for my tastes. Roughly 8 hours long. It would normally seem like more, but this game is so good that you don't want it to end. Other Thoughts: If I gave you one tip in life, it would be to get this game. If you like video games in any way, you should go buy an Xbox 360 just for this game. I am going to assume that you don't have an xbox 360 if you don't own this game, because if you DO have an xbox 360 but no GOW, you should concider jumping off of a really tall building, because you are missing out. Pros: Awesome graphics, great storyline and great gameplay all in one package. There is a lot more strategy involved than your typical shooter games as you can take cover behind certain objects and move around to get a better view of you enemies as needed. Cons: Only one I can think of... Only the machine gun seems to do damage to the RAM (final boss), and the game doesn't really explain this. First I unloaded all my torque bow ammo into him, and then all my machine gun ammo into him, ran out of ammo and died. Then I tried replacing the torque bow with the sniper rifle.... same thing. Sheeps Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	1/10/2007 1:39:37 PM Definitely Worth Your Money Pros: Great game that takes elements from tactical games like Rainbow Six and GRAW, gets rid of all the overly-complex bells and wistles, and puts you right in the action with mostly mid to short range fire fights. Using cover in Gears is so seamlessly integrated and natural that other games feel like something is missing when you can't find a good position to take cover. Cons: With collector's edition, the tin looks cool, the bonus book is interesting, and the DVD is good for if you are bored. However, the double size of the tin makes it tough to fit in my Intec Pro Gamer case. Also, you have to be careful when removing the discs because the cardboard holder seems kind of fragile and has questionable fit. Other Thoughts: If you plan on switching discs often and don't care about bonus material, get the regular version. If you plan on keeping Gears in your 360 for weeks on end, (which will probably happen) get the collector's edition. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you? Unreal Engine 3 games all look great, but this one is the best yet. Gameplay is solid, especially the co-op play over XBox Live. Game saves chapter complete "medals" for each player, so you can play Act 3 scene 2 with someone to help you get the medal for a particularly hard spot for example. Impressive audio too. Really shows off a 5.1 system with big screen TV. Cons: Not any, really. Like all good things the story is over too fast but on the hardest setting it takes quite a while to finish it (20 hours plus). Only thing I noticed wrong with the graphics was that in a few really dark spots the halftoning of shadows doesn't move with the characters. Looks like an artifacting problem you might see on a DVD in a dark area, but it's strange to see it in a moving 3D game. Might be something from the 3D engine. Other Thoughts: If you have a 360, get this game ASAP. If you don't have a 360, you might seriously consider picking one up for this game. It really is that good (and if it's not enough to sell you on the system, you also have Mass Effect, BioShock and Halo3 coming in 2007). 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Graphics, gameplay, sound, are great, its an addictive fun game. In my opinion, better than the halos (although i'm not really a halo fan at all) Cons: Storyline, dialogue, campaign is a bit too short and dissapointing, much more could have been done with it. Many different paths and possibilities. Online Co-Op is fun for a change! Chain Sawing through an enemy has never been more fun! Cons: Game is a little short (on easy level). X51 Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month	11/25/2006 7:37:04 PM Just the beginning Pros: They weren't messing around when they said 'Halo-killer.' The duck and cover mechanic is nearly perfected in this game, and adds that sense that your cover is the only thing standing between you and death, something missing from a lot of other duck and cover games. Cons: As said before, the story is somewhat lacking, if taken on it's own. However, it should be said that this will most likely be a trilogy before all is said and done. As this is the first game, it did a good job at introducing characters and stuations, which will hopefully be expanded upon in future games. Other Thoughts: Multiplayer is a blast. You can't just run and gun anymore. You have to think, strategize, use tactics, and most importanly, work as a team. Pros: This is one awesome game from a well done single player experience that has done co-op properly online as well as an awesome online multiplayer that makes halo look even more like a kids game. John Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week	11/18/2006 11:33:25 PM Yes, Yes, it is great but... Pros: Very good graphics, u dont even have to load anything after the first load. Very nicely done with the weapons, although in multiplayer the chainsaw bayonette is a little unbalanced, but if the person shoots you while you rev it up, u get stunned, so that kinda balances it out a little more. Nicely done hide-n-seek sort of gameplay, definatly not a shoot first, think second game. death animations/bleeding look absolutly great. Lastly the multiplayer is the most top-notch ive every played, almost beats out halo 2. Cons: Story...all i can say. Story. Game is pretty short, although they couldve atleast told more about wat happened. Almost no detail about the locust (yes its true, a guy forgot who wrote a review saying this) plus they couldve added in Marcus's life. Other Thoughts: Great game, definatly, if you cant get right now, put it on ur top wish list, even if ur not a fan of this genre, for christmas....for real. (anybody over 13..) Pros: Graphics, Replay value, and Co-Op Cons: No four-player co-op, third person kind of sucks since I am more of a fan of FPS. Also, there is so little explained about the game such as Fenix's father, where they are, and where the locusts came from. I love how they actually made it to where you can't just run around and kill. You have to hide and play leap frog. Definetely recommended to everyone no matter what kinda games you like. Chainsaw and sticking grenades on enemies/friends (aka vs. mode) is awesome. Cons: I noticed some characters in cutscenes seemed to have not been made as good as the graphics could have made then.
