15 months not a problem
Pros: does what it says it will do, not fancy but a great deal for what it costs
Cons: little or none, there is a hiss but I record mostly sporting events so that is not that noticable
Other Thoughts: if you ever run into any problems with the display on the machine it's self just unplug it for a few seconds and it reboots and works just as good as new, have only had to do this twice in 15 months. not a big deal.

DO NOT BUY CYBERHOME!!!
Pros: NONE
Cons: The phone number for CyberHome has been disconnected!
There is no phone number listed on the web site!
I suggest you DO NOT BUY any cyberhome product. There is a high failure rate. Google with CyberHome as the search term.

Good!
Pros: Price! Easy to configure. Records in one click of a button. Works just fine after having it for more than 1 year and a half.
Cons: NONE!
Other Thoughts: My nice DVD recorder is holding on. It held its price value, selling today for just as much almost two years ago. I litterally unplugged my VCR and my old DVD player about a year ago! I'm recording on a regular basis races and shows since I bought it. It dind't make one bad disk. I've been using DVD-/+R from Sony, HP, Stxxles and NewEgg... I've also used DVD-RWs that I would later on copy to regular DVDs or erase, from HP and Stxxles. I haven't applied the firmware update. You shouldn't either if it works as it is. On another note, I am considering buying it for my relatives. I really love this DVD recorder... I had good experience with it, I would recommend to take a chance... The most you can loose is a hundred, what you gain is a DVD recorder that will obsolete your VCR in no time.

DO NOT BUY
Pros: Worked OK for a short time.
Cons: The recorders compatibility with different DVD brands got worse and worse. Despite using the recommended manufacturers and uprgrading the firmware it now sees all media as damaged or not there. No support on website and no contact info.
Other Thoughts: Cyberhome stopped paying Panisonic a per unit fee for using their technology but continued to sell their DVD recorders untill the FTC raided them and took all remaining units in stock. The no longer sell DVD Recorders

Few problems.
Pros: I bought this about a year or so ago and I really haven't had many problems with it. I watch several movies a week, and I also have used many DVD-R and DVD±R, and a few DVD+Rs without much complication. Recording-wise, my experience has been just as good. I haven't made a single coaster from either recording straight from TV or from backing up old VHS tapes.
Cons: •Occasionally, when viewing a recordable disc, the until will "skip" momentarily. It's very quick, and only happens about once, but annoying nonetheless. •After you record something, it creates a disc menu that appears when you load the disc. Even if you only recorded one title, it creates the menu (the menu is just a list of all titles on the disc with a thumbnail of each). What's the point in that if there is only one title? It should just go straight to the video. The menu is pretty darn ugly too.
Other Thoughts: There is a page on their website that has a list of discs that are approved and a list that should not be used with the unit. It would be wise to check that out so you don't buy incompatible media. There is also a firmware update on their site.

Save your money - DO NOT BUY THIS
Pros: is a more than adequate player - fully featured remote. Plays my downloaded avi's although this is not documented.
Cons: have had problems burning DVD's from the start. Emailed support and they told me I wa susing the wrong media and software. I changed both with vary sporadic results. If all you want to do is transfer VHS tapes and then watch the output once, then maybe this unit is for you. I am looking for a replacement!
Other Thoughts: I bought this to "tape" my wife's shows off the TV every week and this experience has been a dismal failure. I am starting to see this unit selling for $xx. Maybe the manufacturer is getting the hint - IT DOES NOT WORK.

Piece of Junk
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Worked twice then it wouldn't read any DVD's at all. NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK Stay away from this product.
Other Thoughts: Even if it worked, the remote is a clunky piece of junk.

Sketchy Tuner
Pros: Its a cheap DVD Burner to copy over old home movies. Buttons are small on the remote but only because there are so many features available, most other burners would make you go through menus.
Cons: The tuner doesn't work (thats the cable/antenna port). I can only get channel 1 or 0 or something even if I change the channel. And no, I don't require a cable box. To record live TV or old VHS movies, I need to use RCA out on my VCR and connect it to the burner. Once burning the DVDs they don't work in really old DVD players, but only sometimes, go figure.
Other Thoughts: It's a nice cheap burner. Gets the job done, I still use the VCR to record shows (I should get a DVR). I wouldn't get this model to replace the VCR either. Use only for backing things up. I hope you get better luck than me.

Pros: The recorder makes a nice, clear, recording (when it's working). Very flexible recording options, which should satisfy almost everyone.
Cons: Buttons on the remote are way too small. Recorder response to remote inputs is extremely sluggish - I often found myself yelling at the unit in frustration. My first unit failed after about five weeks, and had to be RMA'd.
Other Thoughts: CyberHome has no live Customer Support - everything is via online contacts only. Fortunately, the _DO_ reply fairly quickly to e-mails. Their online RMA process was fairly quick and painless. However, they shipped the replacement via UPS with a live signature requirement - meaning that you (not your neighbor, etc.) must be there when delivery is attempted. They will not accept a signed delivery attempt ticket - you must be present. When I called them requesting this be changed, as no one in my household could be home in the middel of the day, they refused (even at manager level). I had to drive clear across town to pick the thing up. Bottom line: while the product is acceptable when working, and there is some support, I'll be passing on products of this brand in the future.

It died after 5 months
Pros: - Good DVD player when it worked - Had no trouble recording DVDs and they worked in all other players I tried
Cons: It died after 5 months and the labor warranty expired after 3 months.
Other Thoughts: I have no problems with the player other than it quit working after 5 months. The symptom was "No Disc" recognized in tray. I tried several DVDs to no avail. I then put them in a CyberHome 320 DVD player and had no problem watching the movies. These things are digital, when they work, there's nothing any better out there. However, there is a difference in reliability and CyberHome has a ways to go yet.
Oh yes, the warranty is only 3 months on labor and 1 year on parts. Since I'm beyond the labor warranty (I didn't notice it at the time that it was so short), it's not worth it to send it in. Once you total postage and their labor, you're close if not over the cost of a new unit!

Cons: timer recording is very goofy. Set timer to record 1 hr length and only record 30 min. other time set timer for 2hr and only got 1hr and 22 min. All on fresh brand new clean format DVDrw Ridata Brand.

Pros: This is a great little recorder with great features, some of which are undocumented. It appears that units with model #'s ending in MU1 can play divx encoded CDRs, and also record DVD-Rs (at least mine does).
Picture quality in the first 4 record modes is quite good; even in the longest mode (8hrs./disc) the picture is watchable (not so sharp and fast motion is not completely smooth).
I purchased mine to offload programs from my DirecTivo, and it works great for that.
Cons: Remote is a little weak; need to point it right at the unit for best operation.
Other Thoughts: We'll see about longevity; Cyberhome products don't have the best reputation for holding up over the long haul. Hopefully, they're getting better.

Solid performer so far, does a little more than expected
Pros: I bought this product to record movies off my DVR onto DVD for viewing in other rooms and on the DVD player in our new vehicle. It has performed up to expectations, and a little beyond.
Setup was not very user-friendly, but I've never used a DVD Recorder before and was unfamiliar with the connection options. Once I figured it out, it worked with no problems except one (discussed below).
It has exceeded expectations in a couple of different areas. First, CyberHome warns on their website that certain brands of media may not be compatible with the recorder. I used a couple of brands they warned about & they worked fine. Second, it records onto DVD- in addition to DVD+, even though it's only supposed to record onto DVD+. A big plus for me, since the player in our new van only plays DVR- recorded discs. It reads the DVR- discs recorded with this unit like a champ.
Good support through their website. They appear to issue regular firmware updates.
Price is right.
Cons: Setup was kind of clunky. Not user-friendly, but some of that is probably due to my relative inexperience with DVD recorders and how to connect for best picture quality.
Running the signal through the tuner produced an annoying, low-frequency hum that also recorded onto the DVD. Makes the recorded DVD unwatchable for me. However, hooking up an S-Video cable and recording through the S-Video connection eliminates the hum and also produces a better-quality recording. And my guess is the hum is some type of ground loop which I could correct if I wanted to figure it out.
Other Thoughts: Have to wait and see if the recorder stands the test of time. But so far, I'm pleased with this unit. For less than $100 I got a unit that produces DVD+ and DVD- recordings with good picture and audio quality, even on media which CyberHome warns may not be compatible. If they could improve the initial setup interface and eliminate the tuner hum (and again, that may be my doing), this would be a 5.

Works! It Works! It works!
Pros: This was not hard to get plugged up. There were multiple options of output. Plays Pal disks beautifully. Recording quality seems to be better than the source. What noise? I don't have any noise.
Cons: The REMOTE kind of stinks. Small and awkward. This is a little difficult to operate. The record button and stop button should be on the same line at diffeerent corners. My big fingers find small close button are hard to press. Yep the button are the worst. Using the remote is not novice friendly. I knew a little and still had to punch and read.
Other Thoughts: I could not get my VCR to get a good picture using the TV coax cable input but I got a great picture with the RCA type jumpers. I now need my Cyberhome on to watch VCR.

You Get What You Pay For
Pros: Other than sluggish response to menu inputs, and a completely non-intuitive menu layout, the machine was fine for just over a month.
Cons: Started getting very picky with media, even approved types. Eventually it refused to format even DVD+RW's it had previously formatted itself. Wouldn't accept firmware updates from maker's website. Have requested RMA from the manufacturer and am sending it back ASAP.
Other Thoughts: Newegg's website and service are always great! I should have spent the extra money and opted for better quality hardware from a well-known maker.

My Bad!
Pros: Plays "Beautiful especially on HD TV's. Color is great etc. Small and compact - fit's in great. (See con's!)
Cons: Can't record to save it's life! I tried all diffent speeds, which it did offer quite a few, but would lock up at no particlular time. Had to unplug to get it to let go.
Other Thoughts: They have a firemware patch but even after laoding it nothing helped the recording problem. Would have gone bacl to Lite-On if I had the chance....

Not satisfied at all
Pros: Cheap price. Good features.
Cons: Initial unit had loud continuous background noise when recording. Unit returned to manufacturer . Different unit returned from manufacturer. Still had background noise although not as bad. After one week, unit wouldn’t reject DVD and then quit completely. Not even the front panel display works.
Other Thoughts: Maybe cheap isn't the way to go when assessing DVD recoders.
