Rating + 5 Great for the price

Pros: Ordered on a Friday morning, delivered on the following Monday afternoon. Great picture, sound (for built-in), no dead pixels...

Cons: Slow channel change and power-on but not that big a deal.

Other Thoughts: Menu system is different but most should get used to it quick enough. I'm happy with my purchase so far...

Rating + 5 great product

Pros: I have had this tv for a couple of weeks and have had tons of fun already. HD channels look great, the sound is above average for "in tv" speakers. Xbox 360 looks incredible even hooked up with component. Easy to use remote. This is a great buy.

Cons: Channels take a couple of seconds to change, that is kind of annoying. @ HDMI's would be nice, but not that big of a deal

Rating + 5 Awesome

Pros: Awesome picture, no dead pixels, still works great after 1 year, LOVE IT. VGA connector, PLENTY of connectors. Was kind of concerned that Olevia was not a brand name... couldn't care less about it now. I will be buying Olevia again.

Cons: one speaker went out after 6 months. If you use external surround sound, this is of no concern to you. I still haven't bought surround sound and even 1 speaker is still loud enough to watch tv with plenty of volume.

Other Thoughts: use as primary tv and media center with connected PC that records all tv shows. has 2 sets of rca connectors, VGA, HDMI, component, s-video, audio in/out ..... very nice. Am about to buy another, maybe a 42". Paid $1000 for it over a year ago, well worth it, especially at the current price.

Rating + 5 Excellent

Pros: AWESOME HDTV! I bought this tv from newegg exactly one year ago when this brand was pretty much unheard of. The picture is great and has plenty of connections plus built in tuner. Don't hesitate to buy. After a whole year of ownership and used for hours on a daily basis it's been great.

Cons: I've had a few instances where my sound on the tv cut out and there was a loud buzzing sound and I had to shut the tv off and back on again. Could be a problem with the digital audio cable I was using. No big deal and hasn't happend for a long time now. Could even be something a firmware update could fix. Havent tried that yet.

Other Thoughts: I was a little hesitant to buy this because of the no return policy for large items but everything turned out just fine. Newegg rocks!

Rating + 5 Don't Miss Out On This TV!!!

Pros: There are many pros for this TV. Let me start out by saying that it has pretty much all the hook ups that you can think of from regular A/V to S-Video/HDTV and HDMI + MORE! The actual TV looks bigger than 37in. maybe due to the fact of the wide screen effect. The quality of this TV is superb, DVDs never looked better than seeing it on this TV. STOP SEARCHING FOR A TV AND BUY THIS GREAT 5 STAR PRODUCT.

Cons: For a great TV you would think it would come with a decent looking remote...enough said.

Other Thoughts: http://www.newegg.com is the way to go for all electronics!

Rating + 5 Great TV

Pros: Love the TV, great picture, great amount of inputs, mounted well, great price, great interface

Cons: No really bad ones, would be nice if: had a front input, had a more audio options, only one digital coax out and fiber out, no digital INs, slow ON takes some getting used to, but only a couple seconds.

Rating + 3 Great TV! Pray it doesn't break.

Pros: Great Picture, Easy to use, Great TV.

Cons: Customer Service

Other Thoughts: I loved this TV until the motherboard fried on it. Called Customer service the next day, 25 minute wait... great. Finally got a representative and they were fine everything was taken care of except they wouldn't pay the shipping for sending their broken TV back to them. Alright, I'm kind of in a pickle so I'll pay that shipping. "May take up to 7 days to process", are you kidding. What am I supposed to do now? Take up crafts? Two weeks later call again. Another 25 minute wait, now I'm upgraded to priority processing, call in 2 days for your tracking number. Call 4 days later, "It hasn't gone out yet, but we'll put you on our priority list and call you with the tracking number hopefully it should go out tomorrow." 3 days later call them back again, not only no shipping number but nothing they can do about it now. 3 weeks no replacement... horrible.

Rating + 5 Great value

Pros: I have the 237-S11 model bought last Nov. It has a good picture and I've had no problems with it. There are better quality sets out there, but I think that for the price this is a great value -- solid picture quality and I've had no problems with it.

Cons: Doesn't seem to upscale the picture very well (this may be different in new models and I don't have a lot to compare to). I've been able to work around this though: Comcast looks OK using a HD box with the component hook up, and you can get a good DVD picture by using a good upscaling player with a HDMI interface (with a little effort/research you should be able to pick one up for <= $100).

Pros: Easy to set-up
HD Tuner works great
PRICE!!!!
Design/look
Weight

Cons: No side/front AV input
No SD card slot
A/V inputs can be hard to reach
Switching between source

Other Thoughts: Switching between input source is cumbersome. To go from Composite (DVD player) 1 to TV you have to click the Source button 9 times.

Rating + 5 Great Value!

Pros: Olevia's 237 gave me most of a Sharp Aqous' performance for a little less than 50% of the money. That's a great value! The 237 is cable ready (be sure and use the channel scan function during set up, so the TV tuner detects your cable channels-enabling the Olevia remote to channel select properly), has an excellent picture (no adjustments necessary on my set). My standard DVDs upscale to 480p on a Toshiba HD DVD player, and my digital cable signal looks great, with the HD channels looking evan better. VERY pleased for the money!

Cons: Like most HDTVs, the stock amplified stereo speakers are OK at best. The set takes about 1.5 seconds to change channels when surfing up or down through the channels.

Other Thoughts: Buy a surround sound system on sale (I did) and you'll have an excellent home theater for surprisingly little cash.

Rating + 5 Excellent for the price

Pros: Got it at a lower price almost a year ago on newegg. Fantastic quality, I haven't had one single problem with this TV.

Cons: Not really cons, but...speakers aren't great, not bad, but not great. That should be expected though, if you want better sound, get speakers. Only 1 HDMI connection, but price vs. features I knew what I was getting.

Pros: Overall, good tv. Great for the price. Picture is exquisite, saw a Bravia not too long ago with worse quality picture.

Cons: Startup takes a while, screen flickers too during that process. Seems like you get the flicker when its been off for a while.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would suggest getting this.

Pros: Excellent picture quality. Plenty of inputs for a decent entertainment setup. Best bang for buck out there.

Rating + 5 Great buy

Pros: At this price it can't be beat. It does what I want, which is provide a sharp, bright display for my DVD/VCR, Xbox, PS2, PVR, and I still have connections left. Simple and astetic looking. I've yet to see one dead pixel.

Speakers are good enough for me. If your picky over sound, you should have a separate sound system anyway.

The packaging seemed sturdy. As for complaints of holes in the box and damage, in my experience this is the fault of the carrier (see below), don't fault the manufacturer. Nothing will fully protect them from some of the ham-fisted handling I've seen.

Cons: My BIG complaint is about the manual. First, its on a CD, no hard copy. Second, the pages are scanned images of pages, not searchable text. I'll end up printing it out as I find it easier than manually scrolling a PDF.

I didn't like the on-screen menu, but this might be a matter of taste. I think they were attempting to make it less obtrusive so you could navigate the menu but still watch the show, but it just comes off looking "weird". Also, I've yet to find a way to disable inputs I don't use, like "VGA-component". Instead, when pushing the "Source" button you have to cycle through all of them wheather you use them or not.

The remote leaves one wanting. I feel more buttons could have been added for common tasks, like when using Picture-in-Picture, a button to swap primary with secondary. At least give us a couple programmable buttons. I'm definitely considering a Logitech remote with programmable macro buttons.

Other Thoughts: This is my first HDTV, so I did a lot of research. However, I set my budget at around $900. Others at this price just didn't have same specs or features (half the contrast, etc). I read the occasional report of bad customer service from Olevia, but I see that with any company. There are ALWAYS horror stories. For thing like this, I almost always buy an extended warranty, and $130 for a 3-yr extension didn't seem unreasonable.

I ordered it on a friday afternoon ($893 with shipping and warranty) and it showed up at my workplace the following tuesday. Sure enough, the UBS guy (sic) almost dropped it on the asphalt, but fortunately I was there to "help out".

If you get this, definitely consider a good universal programmable remote.

I'm happy, got my TV, now where is the popcorn. :)

Rating + 5 Great Buy

Pros: Arrived in perfect condition. No scratches, no dents, no dead pixels or white lines, as some reviewers have mentioned. The sound is great, and there is an extra HDMI input not mentioned in the description. (Total of 2) The remote is fast and responsive, channel changing is fast, and the color is exceptional. Contrast is great for an LCD.

Cons: Not true black, but if that is important to you, buy plasma, not lcd. The dynamic contrast expands the visual range, so that blacks look black by comparison to the rest of the image. It is only noticable at the left and right edges when viewing a standard 4:3 image, or when there is no image at all.

Other Thoughts: This model is great as a pc monitor, as long as you can live with 1360X768@60Hz. The color reproduction looks as good as my Viewsonic and Samsung monitors, or better.
One note: make sure the power switch on the back of the tv is in the 'on' position after plugging in the unit for the first time. The quick start guide didn't mention it, and it took me a few frustrated minutes to realize why the tv wouldn't turn on.

Pros: Excellent video quality, plenty of inputs, Newegg fast as always, arrived perfect

Cons: Speakers! They're fine at low volumes but anything above that, they crackle.. but hey, it's a good excuse to get some awesome surround sound.

Couldn't get my standard def comcast box to work through the tuner but works fine through the component. Looks like I'll just have to get HD cable...

Rating + 4 Great deal

Pros: Great price. A large TV for a moderate price. Picture quality is very good.

Cons: The speakers cause the cabinet to rattle when there is too much bass - this is not reasonably adjustable (who wants to have the bass turned ALL the way down?). Only one HDMI input.

Other Thoughts: I had to buy separate speakers because the built-in speakers made the cabinet rattle. Still, though, I came out spending about the same amount as if I had gotten some other same-sized LCD TV, but instead I have a nice set of 5.1 speakers, too.

Pros: Great Price, great picture, no sound problems, fast shipping.

Cons: the remote is a little cheap. It is difficult to program universal remotes to this tv because the name isn't well known.

Rating + 2 Got a lemon

Pros: NA

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: I think the brand is good. I just got a lemon from newegg. The product got small damages on shell and the LCD screen has a background white light come out from the top rim. I decided not to return the unit because it will be a hassle to call newegg or the manufactuer to get the tv back and I need to pay the freight. The manufacturer will then give me a refurbished one. What're these risks for......

Rating + 5 Updated review

Pros: Great colorful, sharp picture. Plenty of inputs and plenty of features. Great price.

Cons: Speakers sometimes make a popping sound. Only 1 HDMI. Slow to change channels sometimes. But these are all minor and it still gets 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: This is an update to a review I posted about 6 months ago. I bought this TV in November 2006 and I have had no problems with this television. Note, however, that in order to get the best picture, you must tweak this TV. I saw an Olevia TV in a retail store and it looked bad. Mine looks better because it was tweaked. I recommend turning on the Adaptive Luma Control, the contrast enhance, and the fresh tone. I also think that Native color temp looks better than 6500K (but that's my opinion). Do not turn the sharpness all the way up or you will get jaggies. Turn up the contrast and brightness, and you'll get an outstanding picture out of this TV.

Rating + 3 Reality Check

Pros: see comments

Cons: see comments

Other Thoughts: Based on the reviews here and elsewhere, i bought one of these on sale at a local retailer, but took it back a week later. i don't care to get into the a pros and cons listing, just for anyone thinking of picking these up, a contrary opinion. which is, the picture quality is not nearly as good with these as claimed, color, depth and crispness of the image, noise and stability, backlight bleed, etc, are all noticeably worse than with a samsung, sharp, or sony tv (yes, i messed with the olevia calibration for two days, and i know what i'm doing). if you read the reviews of this brand, they're mostly what a great deal it is. for a samsung or sharp or sony, what a great tv it is. if you can afford a little more, buy something else, you won't regret it.

Rating + 5 Great!

Pros: I've had this tv for 2 weeks without anyone problems yet. I have my Wii and pc connected to it along with an OTA antenna (satellite coming in 2 days). The box was slightly damaged and UPS said they did not require a signature though the guy waited for me to make sure my inspection was satisfactory. I have it hanging on my bedroom using the Peerless mount, not the mount that can be bundled with it since you still save about $30, plus the instructions are clear in the Peerless compared to the other official Olevia mount (see reviews on that mount). The menu was somewhat tricky to navigate, but hey you're not going to be using it that often. The picture is superb, there are enough video inputs and the price is just terrific (I'm referring to the $700 price tag when it was on sale here just a week ago :D)

Cons: I have only one complaint. But first let me explain that I did not use the Olevia mount that was a bundled option, I instead chose the Peerless Universal Tilting Mount that was cheaper and came with instructions unlike the Olevia mount (see reviews). I chose the Peerless because it looked identical to the Olevia mount, cost less and came with instructions. The vertical bars that directly screw onto the tv have only one hole each. So I installed it at the holes provided near the top of the tv, there weren't any places to screw in the vertical bars at the bottom of the tv so I would definitely advise not tilting the tv downward. I assume that you will get the same experience w/ the Olevia mount. There are 4 screws in the rear center of the tv which looks like it could be used for a different wall mount and it looks to provide a sturdier setup. With that being, this tv gets 5 stars until it breaks off the vertical bars and shatters upon hitting the floor.

Other Thoughts: Knowing what I know now, I would have bought a different wall mount. There is way too much effort involved in taking out the wall mount I installed so I'll stick with it (and dare not tilt the tv downward, its currently tilted maybe 5 deg up, at most)

Pros: Very Easy set-up. Good deal, Nice size screen for its price. Plenty of Plug-ins for media. Not a bad resolution.

Cons: Came with a couple dings and a sratch, but nothing larger than a cm big and you have to look for them to find them.

Other Thoughts: For a mid-range TV its not a bad deal! Its no Pioneer or top of the line product, but for a college student its a real good buy!

Rating + 5 Incredible TV

Pros: Great picture, great sound. Inputs are rather generous. Remote works just fine. Getting it from box to operational is extremely easy, I was able to lift the 62 lb. unit myself without much trouble.

Cons: Menu is somewhat perplexing until some time is spent playing around with it. Stock base appears to be somewhat flimsy, but it does the job quite well.

Other Thoughts: Easily hooked up to my Cable Box, DVD Player, and I used a DVI-HDMI Cable to hook it up to my computer, and it acts as a second monitor. The fidelity and picture are fantastic, especially as a second monitor/direct-from-computer theater unit.

Rating + 5 Extra?

Pros: Multiple hookups, great picture. HD is amazing. Menu is fairly understandable. Overall a very good tv for the price. Easy to access hookups, tv isnt very heavy. Im in love with it, even after doing months of research.

Cons: The conns i have is that there isnt more control over the color settings. I mean of course there is Tint and Contrast, but you cant edit the color bars yourself, there is no custom mode. After messing an hour with it, i have it looking good, but stock it didnt look clear.

Other Thoughts: Other thoughts is that i got this from another website, just because it was an aclaimed seller and it was the same tv, cheaper price. The TV i recieved has 2 HDMI ports, which caught me off caught me off guard.

Rating + 1 Bad Experience

Pros: While my screen worked it had a very nice picture.

Cons: Extremely poor customer service and manufacxturing. My screen wouldn't change inputs after 3 months of normal use. Was sent a replacement part that didn't fix it. Sent TV back and had to wait a MONTH for a replacement. They had recieved my shipment in 3 days, i called often after that (waiting 20 min on hold usualy just to get through) just to be told, "It should go out in a day or two." I was told this no less than 10 times. On arrival my "replacement" was physically deformed. I am now going trhough the process all over again. Calls to managers were left unanswered for days. After all this inconvinience I asked for a larger screen, nope, shipment to me before pickup of existing screen, nope, extend my warranty free, nope. They have been unwilling to give me anything to make up for their incompetent customer service and poor manufacturing.

Other Thoughts: Go with another manufacturer. Spend the extra bucks for a screen from a reputable TV maker. My experience with Olevia has been unforgivable. I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but after several hours of being stonewalled by Olevia customer service I feel I should warn potential buyes. Good luck!

Pros: GORGEOUS picture, many settings to adjust picture, loud and clear built in speakers, tons of inputs.. nice responsive remote with clearly laid out buttons

Cons: menus are a little weird, but still simple and easy to use.

Other Thoughts: thought i would get some cheap lcd tv that would be only suitable for bedroom use, but this tv definently exceeded my expectations. UPS guy left the box out in the rain, but luckily i was home before the rain soaked in.. make sure ur home to refuse the package incase of damage cuz it isnt that well padded or packed.

Pros: I like it so far. Great picture in HD. I would buy another one of these for the price. Looks amazing off a computer with DVI to HDMI cable.

Cons: Menu sucks. Do not forget to turn the SHOW ROOM option off, because that limits what you can access. Needs another HDMI port. Not sure how well a port switch will help out.

Other Thoughts: Almost a month and the tv makes little snapping/popping noises when I first turn the tv on or first turn it off. Small dent in speaker during shipping.

Rating + 2 On my 3rd one and its bad too!

Pros: Good price, good image quality, lots of inputs.

Cons: After about 3 months the TV developed a column of stuck pixes spanning the whole screen.

Syntax-Brilliance shipped me a new TV eventually and it was damaged in shipping. Took another month or so and they got me a 3rd one and it shuts off after around 10 mins and won't power on for another min or so. The more I try and use it, the more frequent it shuts off. I have checked all the sleep timers etc.. and they are all off.

I think Olevia has issues with quality.

Other Thoughts: The 2 replacements where 537's not 237's but its essentially the same TV as they don't make the 237 any more.

Cons: Blue LED is ON when tv is OFF. Really doesnt makes sense and if you have the tv in a bedroom you are gonna have to block it off. It will light up a whole room at night.

Other Thoughts: Other than the LED indicator I have no complaints with this tv. I was a little apprehensive about buying a less mainstream brand, but I couldnt be happier. Great value in HDTV.

Pros: Good picture quality

Cons: After one month I had difficulty getting the set to come on. After many tries it would work for 5 to 10 minutes and then spontaneously turn off by itself. Sometimes this hapened four or five times but once it was on for 15 minutes it usually stayed on. Now I can not even get the set to start up. I e-mailed tech support and after three days they replied suggesting I unplug the set and try again or switch power line. Neither worked I am now trying to get my money back.

Rating + 5 Great Product for the Money

Pros: Has HDMI, 1080i, incredible picture with HDTV, great contrast, great response time (no ghosting), very good SDTV, low heat production, nice set of picture controls, and a very nice remote. No dead pixels on mine. Great viewing angle and very easy to read the screen in high lighting. I have to watch all of my DVDs again -- the widescreen experience is very different.

Cons: Only 1 HDMI, but for this price it's worth it. I ordered this Thursday and when it still wasn't here the next Wednesday I sent an e-mail to newegg and they were very kind and even gave me some credit from the shipping -- newegg is awesome!

Other Thoughts: I have no problem with the menu systems that others talk about, but that kind of thing is personal preference. Even if you didn't like it, it's not like you use it every day. I also have Dish TV, so the channel switching delay is also not an issue for me (and I would guess this is true of digital cable as well).

Pros: I bought the 32" version on black friday at my local computer store. I've had no problems over the 6 months I've owned it, picture is still crisp and the whites are brite.

Cons: The menu and remote.

Rating + 1 Trying for number 5!

Pros: Tons of features and inputs.

Cons: 3 out of five replacements were defective and the other two were damaged.

Other Thoughts: Olevia customer support is terrible. Original LCD was defective. Replacement was damaged during transit. Second replacement was sent damaged (refurb) and DOA. Third replacement was a completely different LCD and DOA. Trying for number five or maybe a refund. Buy your LCD from Newegg, but buy a brand name. The savings are not worth it. It's taken five months and i still do not have an acceptable replacement.

Rating + 5 Big Set, Great Value!

Pros: Definately a great buy! This television set is much larger than I thought, and the picture is phenomenal over 1080i on the Xbox 360. Discovery HD was equally impressive, and even SDTV/EDTV looks good with no noticeable lag. Package was in excellent shape for being UPS'd to such a remote place in the Rocky Mountains!

Cons: The UPS box was in flawless shape on arrival, but upon removing the TV from the carton, there were definately some 'rough handling' dents and scuffs that appear to have happened at the factory. The menu's are pretty whack too, but you get use to them.

Other Thoughts: Minor cosmetic flaws aside, I wouldn't hesistate to buy from Olevia again. Also, Newegg's Price-point for the 37" was the same as Staple's price-point for a 27". Man I love Newegg! Need I say more?

Rating + 4 Beware updating the Firmware!!!

Pros: Great TV for the price, No dead Pixels on arrival no problems whatsoever until....

Cons: Firmware upgrade process is very easy but not without its bugs. The software is cheaply programmed and prone to problems. While upgrading my firmware the program froze on its initial steps (the most crucial) basically it erased the firmware on the TV then froze up. Customer service instructed to restart the process but the TV would not power on due to the fact that the original operating system had been erased. NO WAY of fixing said problem from consumer end. Had to send TV back-upgrade firmware at your own risk.

Other Thoughts: currently undergoing return process what a pain. Products like this should have better streamlined methods of upgrading software. I highly regret my decision to upgrade the firmware before I had a great TV with no problems now I have nothing.

Rating + 2 Nice TV

Pros: Great Picture, Nice looking easy setup. Newegg had it to me within 3 days. The TV was shipped from California and I live in PA. so the TV was handled quite a lot before getting here but it was in perfect condition.

Cons: Speakers crack and aren't that good. CHECK your registration, Mine had Refurbished on it so it took me calling Olevia to straighten it out. Olevia doesn't answer emails. IF YOU purchased the extended WARRANTY from ServiceNet make sure that the Serial # on the policy matches your TV. MINE DIDN"T so you have to call ServiceNet to straighten it out.

Other Thoughts: I will definitly order another for my bedroom since the TV does work good and it looks even better.

Cons: ATSC tuner dosen't work at all. After many hours on hold I got through and was assigned a warranty claim number. That was a month ago and I can't get in touch with them again. Before you buy from Olevia call 866-965-3842

Pros: Great price and a great picture. Remote is easy to use and on screen menus are easy to understand. Picks up digital Cable channels without a Digital Box from cable comoany. Easy setup.

Cons: Came with a dent in the side of the speaker that appears to have happened at factory. Their was no damage to the box itself. Also had problems out of the box with the picture (works great after turning on and off five times)and the Support system is slow. They are replacing the TV but I had to wait the weekend to get through.

Other Thoughts: Did a lot of checking on reviews before buying this and would still go with Olevia. Once I got through to their tech support they agreed to replace the TV with no argument.

Rating + 4 237V 37' LCD HDTV

Pros: Stunning 1080i performance! Can tell a huge difference in both audio and video from 480i/p. The 720p is quite nice also. Overall the TV is a great 1st LCD HDTV. I received it just in time for the Superbowl and was very pleased with the image.

Cons: Going into the purchase, I knew about the audio "popping" noise from the speakers. Since I was going to use it at low or no volume level and have it reproduced through my Yamaha RCVR I didn't have that big of a problem with it. I have noticed on ocassion this popping noise, but it is very rare (a couple times / week maybe.) I watch Tv about 3-4 hours a night 5 days a week and more on the weekends.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely suggest this TV for a first LCD TV, the overall performance is great, a lot of options as far as I/P and O/P from various sources. I haven't hooked up the computer to it yet, but am in the process of getting a media player w/ upconvert dvd player, which streams wirelessly from computer to player and onto TV. Should be a great combo.

Rating + 5 Olevia 237 LCD

Pros: Great size and looks. Picture is pretty good. Best in this price range $xxx. You can spend two or three times as much and get a crisper more vivid picture (TV), but you can't beat this for the price. I haven't watched DVD yet, but I'm sure it will be impressive. Sound quality pretty good, easy set up, more inputs than you need. Received mine in 4 days and it was packaged well. UPS left it on my porch, which surprised me, but all turned out fine. I saw the 437 the day after ordering on another site for $100 less, but prefer the black over silver color (otherwise same tv). It's only been a few hrs, but I'm satisfied with my purchase so far. Newegg lived up to its promise!

Cons: Menu is cumbersome, but you get used to it. PIP works fine with Digital cable, despite what others said (maybe diff for over the air).

Other Thoughts: Olveia is a quality brand in this price range. Buy with confidence. Way better than similar priced and others up to $1000. Beats Pxxxlips, mxxxavox, pxxxroid, nxxxent, and others. You have to spend 1200-1400 to get a better picture in the same size.

Pros: Picture quality is great, bright display, lots of jacks to plug anything in, and the price is right.

Cons: The sound is good but there is a loud popping and cracking noises all the time, especially from the back of the unit. I was scared the first few nights the display might burn the house down. The display also is not a true black background.

Other Thoughts: I like the picture & the price but beware of loud pops and cracks cause they'll scare the mess out of you when unexpected.

Rating + 1 37" Olevia Mod. 237V

Pros: Once set-up all seems to work well. Great Picture.

Cons: Tuner is very slow

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these units from New Egg. One worked fine and the other had to go back as the remote did not communicate with the TV. The problem is in the TV not the remote. I was sent a form to fax Olevia which I did the same day. After one week I called Olevia and they claimed not to have received the faxed form. I resent it and was given and estimated shipping date of a week. UPS delivered the "NEW" unit and the same thing happened. The remote did not communicate with the base unit. Again, the problem was determined to be in the TV. UPS was supposed to pick-up the TV yesterday, No one showed up.

I've always had good luck with New Egg but this is the last time I'll be buying a large item from them. Life is too short to put up with this nonesence!

Pros: Great price, very good picture, more than enough connections, nice looking unit and it is the perfect size for my family room. I was concerned about it not being a brand name BUT it is just as good if not better than the brand name units.

Cons: Speakers aren't the best but if you turn up the bass and lower the treble it sounds good. There really isn't any cons for this product.

Other Thoughts: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT! DON"T HESITATE TO BUY IT! . I read the reviews and did a lot of shopping around before I bought this TV. I was a little concerned about it being damaged in shipping but it came in perfect condition and I had it up and running within 20 minutes.I live in PA. so it was handled a lot before it got here.

Rating + 5 2nd Review. Still love this TV

Pros: I have now owned this TV for 5 months, and not a single complaint. I even moved it from Hawaii to Florida in December, and it made the move without an issue. I packed it in the original box, and when it arrived at my new house in Florida, I unpacked it and plugged it in. I don't know about you, but if it can withstand a FedEx shipment 6,000 miles, it must be put together well.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Don't let the price scare you. You get an awesome TV for a fraction of the name brands. I actually paid a higher price than I see them listed for now, and I still feel like I got a deal!

Pros: Price, connections. This TV is better then some of the other budget TVs out there.

Cons: Bad glare with the lights on. My Dell 37" does not have that problem. Quality is average, but the picture is not very bright. Menus are terrible and you have to rotate through the inputs.

Other Thoughts: TV had a 1" crack on the speaker grill. I was not able to inspect the package because UPS left it at my front door and ran off! The replacement procedures that accompany an online TV purchase makes it not worth the savings.

Rating + 5 Couldn't be happier

Pros: I can't say enough good things about this TV. It has a ton of inputs. I currently have my PS3, Xbox360, Nintendo Wii, HD Cable box, and a DVD player and I still have room for more. The picture is great to begin with, sd or hd. My games have never looked better. The picture is always clear and sharp and I really have no complaints at all. The price is great, the set looks fantastic, and the sound is awesome too. If you're looking for a TV that wows everyone who comes into the room, I would highly recommend this TV.

Cons: I can't get my Cox cable remote to work with it. Not a big deal at all.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend buying an HDMI cable through Newegg to hook up a DVD player or game console that supports it. That will make the TV look screamin. Also, I would recommend buying a home theater system just so it compliments the TV.

Rating + 5 Can't beat it for the price

Pros: It has lots of inputs. Unlike some sets, SVideo isn't combined with RCA. There are 2 SVideo inputs and 2 completely separate RCA inputs. That's in addition to VGA, HDMI, and 2 component inputs.

Each input can be set up differently. The tv will remember and change settings as the inputs are cycled.

I find that the speakers are just fine and get extremely loud. I'm not sure why others are complaining about them. I'm using it in a bedroom, not in a large family room. I don't want to use an external sound decoder in the bedroom, but it does support it.

I noticed some noise at the bottom of the screen when hooking up the DVD player via component. Messing around with the menu settings, the "auto" option, it enlarged the screen just a bit and got the noise off the screen.

It works great with a Hauppauge MediaMVP via SVideo. Unlike other sets I've tried, there's no noise (wavy lines in the picture) on the SVideo inputs

Cons: There's only one coax input for cable or HDTV OTA, but not both at once. Many tv's are this way. However, some have dual inputs. Also, there's only one HDMI, but a switchbox can take care of that. I had another HDTV in the room that could pick up all local HDTV channels OTA. This one gets them all but one. It also lacks an on-screen guide, unlike some other tv's. Pressing the info button will tell what program is on, but not a description of the program. That info is in the HDTV stream and some tv's will display it.

Maybe I missed it, but it'd have been nice to have an option to shut certain inputs off so they aren't cycled. It takes a long time to go through a bunch of unused inputs to get to the ones that are used.

Other Thoughts: It's a great deal for the price. The menu takes a little getting used to, but has lots of options - many more than the Vizio I compared it to. And also compared to the Vizio, it's quite a bit cheaper. The box it comes in is a bit thin for shipping. My set/box was perfect. The matte black color is a big plus. There's no glare from lights like on tv's with a shiny border. Great little tv set!

Rating + 5 Olevia 37" - Probably the best TV for the price

Pros: - Amazing Clarity
- Bright Screen in the Brightest of rooms
- VGA, HDMI, Component*2, S-Video*2

Cons: - Inverted Light (No Big Deal)
- Comcast Remote cannot switch the TV on or Off

Other Thoughts: I was definitely amazed when I got this TV. It was sweeter and Slicker than I expected. I had read somewhere that there was a switch on the back of the TV that I should switch on the first time I used it. I was ready to go in less than 30 minutes.

Good Job Olevia!

Pros: Well, the picture is good on cable and is great in HD. Tuner picked up more channels than my two year old 27" JVC.

Cons: After one week the left speaker started too crack, just once in awhile. Then one night it made this high pitch scream, sound died for 2-3 seconds then came back. Sound board going bad I guess.

Other Thoughts: I did open the box before the truck left and all was good. But now I have send it back too get worked on. Well run a different sound source to bye pass the on-board sound for now.

Pros: What a great picture. It picks all my digital cable channels and has a crisp, clear picture. The speakers also have some ooomf. This is a far superior unit than some of the high priced TV's out there. I am very please with my purchase.

Cons: Set up is kind of hard. I'm a tekkie, and I still had to call customer support. The channels change kind of slow, which is annoying.

Other Thoughts: We had this unit installed on a wall in our bedroom, and it looks fabulous! My wife thought I was crazy for buying, but now she's hooked.

Rating + 4 I’d gladly buy this tv again

Pros: The picture quality looks great to my untrained eye. It certainly looks as good or better than my 19" Sam$ung LCD monitor. No visual problems whatsoever. No dead pixels, no ghosting. SD tv content looks decent, and standard DVD's look amazing. The set itself is aesthetically beautiful, doesn't have that cheap look you might expect with a tv at this price.

Cons: The menu is rather cumbersome, lacking a menu tree and often requiring multiple menus to get to functions that should be on the remote in the first place (PiP/PbP, etc). The remote is a bit cheesy (but I knew it was going to be). The tv is slow to turn on (~10 seconds) and the tuner slow to change channels. The sound is expansive, yet hollow (run of the mill tv sound I suppose). The packaging was very suspect, with nothing but hollow space between the cardboard shell and the LCD screen itself. If yours comes with a big hole in the box, I'd be inclined to return it (don't accept it).

Other Thoughts: I was a bit skeptical of buying a brand I'd never heardof, but I’d gladly buy the same set again. Great value for quality viewing.

btw - Anyone experiencing static in the sound should try returning the bass/treble back to default levels. I had static after messing with those settings, and only later when I defaulted them did the static disappear.

Rating + 5 Great TV for the buck!

Pros: I did a lot of research on every different kind and brand of TV and I came to the conclusion based on reviews that this was the best for the price. I was skeptical at first about purchasing a big ticket item over the internet but I was astonished by the performance of it. Many adjustments with audio, color and aspect. This TV is about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of competitors but just good of quailty even though 480i televsion doesn't look great but it doesn't on any of them. The 5-10 HD channels I pick up from the air look amazing and its free, not every LCD has this feature! Don't be afraid of internet buying, Newegg is the cheapest out there! 360 looks incredible!

Cons: I did have to get a replacement because the first one had static and cracking in the speakers along with high pitch noises periodically. I wasn't about to let this get me down so Olevia sent me a new one with no hesitation even though like others have said, the wait time on the phone is very long! The first one also had a green tint that I couldn't get out with adjustments only in HD channels but the new one looks and runs perfect!

Other Thoughts: If anyone experiences some of the problems above, call Olevia and they will work with you to make you happy. Everyone I tell about the TV has never heard of it but can't believe the price I paid for what I got. The only reason people have been giving it a lower rating than 5 is only because the shippers didn't do a good job, why would you rate the product less because of that? Oh well, mine both came perfect even during UPS "holiday help" times.

Pros: Picture quality, price, weight, hd gaming. You name it,this TV does it all. My gf got an Olevia last year and I love hers so much that I had to get one myself.

Cons: None so far with the actual TV but I can't find the codes to sync my Cox digital cable remote with the TV. Not a big deal really.

Other Thoughts: Syntax Olevia is a great brand is starting to gain recognition. I was skeptical at first but once you see this TV up close and personal, it really is a beautiful piece. I recommend it to all looking for a great lcd tv for a much lower price.

Pros: The HD picture is pretty good. It upconverts SD video fairly well.
Price is great.

Cons: I am having problems with the built-in ATSC tuner. In order to use it I must physically power the TV off (via the switch in the back) and then back on. I've tried contacting support via email and have had no response.
Now I am having an issue where upon turning the set on the volume has reset to the lowest level (0).
It takes a while for the set to start recognizing the remote after I turn it on.

Other Thoughts: For the price I can't complain too much. But the lack of response from customer support stinks.

Rating + 5 This Thing Is Great!

Pros: Olevia? Hesitated because of the name, but this thing is great! Solid color, I haven't bothered to adjust anything after firing it up. Zero dead pixels. Lightweight sleek design makes this an awesome looking piece to be admired, have help getting out of the box. Tons of jacks mounted on the side will get you setup the way you want plus more. Speakers are good though I never use more than 1/4 up for watching my local news. Gaming and dvd movie watching is a pleasure using my external audio, also purchashed from Newegg. Best of all, I tossed my reading glasses using this as my PC monitor, why did I wait so long? *** NOTE *** like others have mentioned, don't forget to turn flip the "power on" button on the back and get off the showroom option.

Cons: Needs a bit more clarification on how to setup the wiring/cabling to pc/dvd or cablebox. The fold up instruction sheet is a little weak on that for "first time users", especially when you see the ton of side plugs/connections. I managed with a little extra time and head scratching. The stand seems a little weak for the size and seems that it may snap if you rock the screen, don't rock it. Still gets a 5 egger in my book!

Other Thoughts: I purchased this set of cables along from the egg, "HEC CABLES TO GO 38067 CABLE KIT - Retail" a great price from the egg, you will need to set yourself up. Though I didn't have the need to use all but when you consider what you pay at an electronics store, this is a steal and not cheapy stuff. No problems with the remote control, great range. Running my PC off "vga" and TV set to "tuner" ch 3. No HD TV yet, it's coming though. Last, UPS delivered early morning the next day in less than 24 hrs and I missed the darn delivery but they returned later that afternoon and being Friday I would've had to wait until Monday for the next delivery. Newegg is the best! UPS on this day also gets 5 eggs, even helped me getting it indoors!

Rating + 3 Good TV but...

Pros: I bought this TV on black Monday in November. I like it--good picture, excellent price, reasonable sound. I has good connections in back for a variety of hookups and PIP which I appreciate.

Cons: But, as good as the picture is, I don't think the TV is very well made. The case is flimsy. The remote is very limited and the menus are a challenge to navigate (getting to PIP takes some effort). Plus, the remote codes are model specific which means you probably cannot use any other remote (unless it has a learn function) to control the TV. At 8ms refresh, the TV is pretty good but in fast action there is some lag.

Other Thoughts: The TV was not packaged well, but the box was intact and I accepted delivery. However, the TV did start up very well from the beginning. It would often take two or more minutes and two or more attepts to get it going. And, even more frustrating was that it retain none of its settings (most annoying was it lost all the channels that had be programmed) each and every time it turned on. I contaced Customer Service in December. They seemed fast and efficient but then I didn't hear anything from them. In January I e-mailed (long phone queues after the holidays), and received no answer. Late in Jan I called again, got through, and within a week I had a replacement TV. The replacement works perfectly and I am very happy with it. I have no idea how long it will last--as I mentioned, I don't think these have high end components BUT for the price and picture quality I am happy. If I had it to do over again....I'd buy it.

Rating + 5 Beautiful Picture!

Pros: It is a 768p rather than a 720p and the picture is beautiful. The Olevia has more adjustments for picture and sound than I expected and emough inputs for most people. I ordered from Newegg on Tuesday and UPS delivered it in perfect condition on Thursday. WHAT GREAT SERVICE!

Cons: My Dish remote did not have the code for it, period. I tried all of them plus searching and nothing worked. However, that is a small price to pay for such an excellent TV at a great price.

Other Thoughts: I solved the remote problem easily. I found a Sony 8-DEVICE Learning Upgradeable Universal Remote on A_____ and clicked on "16 used & new available from $8.95" and bought the cheapest (refurbished) for less than $15 shipped. It is working better than I expected because I can program any button to do anything, talk about control... Now all is right with my world.

Pros: Beautiful HDTV picture via OTA or HDMI satellite receiver. Awesome XBOX360 - no ghosting - great contrast. Couldn't ask for any better for the money, it blew me away!

Cons: Remote is on the cheap side, but functional. Who cares anyways, buy a Logitech harmony and you're on your way.

Other Thoughts: UPS did a stellar job of shipping/handling - box arrived flawless. Contrary to what others have said, the packaging is not cheap, I found it to be well packaged. You really can't go wrong with this TV for the price. I have been shopping a low-mid range television, and after seeing this unit and a lower-end Samsung side by side, the true-to-life image on the Olevia blew the Samsung out of the water. If your in the market for a sub $1000 television for a living room/bedroom, this is the one!

Rating + 5 Excellent Introductory HDTV

Pros: Picture Quality is superb
HDMI Input
Price over Black Friday 2006
OTA HDTV Tuner

Cons: Slow To Turn On
Horrible remote

Other Thoughts: Needs better packaging. My first one arrived damaged and the replacement was slow to ship. Now that I have one that is defect free at no cost to me other than time spent waiting on it, I'm happy.

Pros: Plays everything fantastic on my Xbox 360. I hooked it as a PC monitor and it also looks great. HD Channels are amazing. I like that its very lightweight

Rating + 5 Good Starter Set

Pros: Inexpensive. Lots of composite, s-video, and component inputs. Internal HD tuner so you can watch the broadcast HD channels right out of the box. Bright, clean picture. Wii Sports looks great in widescreen mode (still 480i though, hehe) DVD players with anamorphic discs are a delight, even without progressive scan.

Cons: Single HDMI port. Slow startup, but as others have said that isn't really a problem. Slow channel changing. Speakers aren't really that amazing. The cons are not a deal breaker on this set. Just minor annoyances.

Other Thoughts: I keep calling it the perfect "My First HDTV." This set is usually on sale, and at a good price. All the research in the world is great, but until you actually have one in your hands you can't really know what your likes/dislikes are in a display.
The set is 1080i, which you'd think is a bad choice with 1080p coming around the corner. I was able to rationalize that by pointing out that I have no real 1080p sources yet, and won't for a while. So by entering the HD world with this set, when I finally DO have the media to feed to a 1080p set, I'll have gone through this before and have a better idea of what to do. And hopefully by then 1080p sets will have come down in price.
It's a good set. I've had zero buyers remorse after getting it up and running.

Rating + 5 Great Value, Great Quality

Pros: Excellent price. Picture quality exceeds that of the demo models I now regularly check out in stores, even many of the Plasma models of a similar size. A plethora of inputs for most standard a/v connections allowing many split screen & PIP combinations of inputs. Tuner picks up several digital channels and a few HD channels without using the digital cable box, increasing PIP & split screen options for monitoring recordings or watching multiple channels.

Cons: I have worked with the menu extensively, mainly for changing inputs and monitoring recordings using PIP & split screen. Moving through the menus is counter intuitive, and I am still struggling with learning how and where to go quickly on the menu options. On my model, only the HDMI input was available for PIP & split screen combinations for most other options.

Other Thoughts: In order to view live TV while recording live TV, I had to use most of the a/v input options. The only input that worked with virtually every other option was HDMI. To get the RF signal via coaxial cable on two different inputs, I had to creatively split up the co-axial cable into devices that had s-video & component output options. By occasionally switching the single output options on some devices and using multiple available outputs on other devices, I now can view analog channels and some digital while recording digital channels.

Rating + 5 Awesome HDTV!!

Pros: This tv is AWESOME!! I've had it for a little over a month. My whole family loves it! I'm watching the Patriots and Colts game on it right now in 1080i HD and it looks awesome! Late night w/Jay Leno and Dave Letterman also look great. I have my PS3 hooked up via hdmi and it looks unbelieveable. The Motorstorm demo will blow you away on this unit. Not only does this tv display High Def great but it looks great as well, the overall appearance is probably better looking than any other hdtv out there. Its a looker and looks beautiful in my home. Very elegant style. You can't go wrong.

Cons: My only cons about this tv are it is kind of slow when turning the channels, it can be faster, and sometimes the speakers will make like a cracking or poping noise. whats up with that? Other than that no other complaints, received it in perfect condition.

Other Thoughts: This tv looks awesome, and i'm just talking about the design, it looks beautiful, and the HD is beautiful as well, you really can't go wrong. I was going to purchase a 42 inch sony bravia but decided 42 inches might be too big for my living room so I went with this one and let me tell you 37 inches is really all you need. It will look good in any living room, I guarantee it. My PS3 and Xbox 360 look so good, its a perfect size for gaming.

Rating + 5 Good value for the money

Pros: This HDTV offers the features most people are looking for (or really need for that matter) at a great price. Supports up to 1080i which is all need right now anyway. Lots of connections in the back. Good looking cabinet.

Cons: Has only one HDMI port, two might be preferred for some buyers, although in my situation it's not an issue. The remote is kinda flimsy, but does the job. The setup/configuration menu is not the easiest to learn, but you can get the hang of it.

Other Thoughts: There's a power button in the back that the manual quick-setup doesn't mention. When the TV is off, there is a blue light goes on in the front. Also, you may be wondering what resolution you need to purchase. Any DVD I have watched isn't any better than 720P. my cable comany has only a small number of HDTV channels broadcasting in HD, and only a few are 1080i, none in 1080P. The bottom line is this TV gives you what you need at the price you want. In our disposable society, you can easily trade up in 3-5 years when the technology is better.

Pros: Great all around LCD TV! Black levels are great, whites aren't oversaturated. Colors are above average. Changes between sources pretty quickly. Cables connect and disconnect easily.

It's case is pretty good looking for the price. Matte-black.

Cons: The biggest one I can think of: No DVI.

Other Thoughts: The only weird issue is that I had to change the positioning of the video and crop a bit to get the closed captioning data off the screen. Was just like setting up a CRT monitor with a new resolution but easier.

Rating + 5 Open Box Item Sold as New

Pros: On 1080i OTA HDTV ( antenna ) the picture was absolutely fantastic. The picture is so clear and sharp you notice the decorating details of the TV sets. Bright colors well saturated - I could not believe it would be so much better than what I saw on the floor of local store. DVD looks very very good, but not HD quality. Lower resolution digital TV looked quite good, even good quality analog was good. Blacks are very acceptable.

Cons: NOT A NEW SET - OPEN BOX. 1. NO STRAPS ON BOX. 2. INSIDE WHITE FOAM COVER WAS TORN AND ONLY SLIPPED OVER ON TOP OF SET - NOT WRAPPED AROUND AND UNDERNEATH. 3. CLEAR PLASTIC SCREEN COVER WAS RETAPED. Turned on the TV this morning before heading in to work - the tuner had lost its memory - no channels?? Tried to rescan, would not auto scan. manually entered a channel - it received the analog channel. Will retry tonight after unplugging and then resetting to factory defaults. The background screen is not uniform when the screen goes blank ( Black??) Definite pattern - not quite sure if it shows up on viewing??

Other Thoughts: As overwhelmed with the quality of the picture; I am more underwhelmed with the fact that Newegg would send out a Open Box Unit for a new set. Contacted the customer service for a refund discount for the Open Box unit. Only options are send back this unit for full refund or get a replacement. Could not guarantee that the replacement would be new - THE NEW ONE WASN'T NEW!!! So, I was told to order another 'new' one, but now the price is two hundred more.

Rating + 5 Good Set !!

Pros: Beautifull HD picture nice SD picture !! TV will accept higher resolution even though not listed.Has Very good scaleing capibilties converts higher and lower resolution to native 720p of the panel very well! At normal viewing distance six to eight feet looks as good as most 1080p panels ive seen. After some tweaking and adjustments color contrast and black levels look great!!

Cons: Cheap remote but it is full funtion and it works !

Other Thoughts: Value wise its an excellent buy internal tuner is decent. Unless your a complete absolute video quality freak youll be happy with this set. Very few people will not be happy with this purchase !!

Pros: *Great value. I got it for xxx.

*Awesome HD picture and fabulous for HD gaming on my 360.

*Good picture adjustment options and easy to use aspect and input controls. I never had to open the manual.

Cons: *When the TV is called on to do some scaling, the image quality is reduced. From about 10' or so away from the TV this is pretty hard to see, but up close you can tell that picture doesn't look as good as on a 1:1 setting (which makes SD television very small). This is a minor concern if you're using the TV in a medium-large room, but a big concern if you want to watch non-HD content in a small room.

*The box may still be an issue. There was a little damage to my set, however it was on the underside of the stand and was small so I accepted delivery anyway.

*You will need a learning remote as the codes for the TV are not yet available on any universal remotes. I have a learning one, so it's not an issue for me other than the one-time hassle of teaching the controls.

*The speakers on the side waste a lot of horizontal space and may cause a problem in getting this television installed in an entertainment center made for a traditional 4:3 ratio TV.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this TV is the most satisfying purchase I've made in a long time. It is everything I was looking for, and as long as it doesn't have a major failure I'm very pleased.

I would have given it a 5 egg rating if it were smoother in the scaling department. I would also have given it 5 eggs if I were considering the value, but I was only rating on the TV quality itself. For the price I paid, it was well worth it.

Pros: Amazing picture... We watch movies on it all the time in HD and it looks incredible! My husband loves playing his 360 on it! Hes a big gamer so he was very impressed by this TV.
Plenty of avaiable hook ups.. Easy set up. This is one you have to see for yourself =)

Cons: No complaints at all! For the Price this tv is amazing!

Other Thoughts: My father bought this for my husband and I as a christmas present. Knowing that it isn't the best out there and we had never heard of this brand before we were a bit skeptical. After we opened it and hooked it up we realized it is a pretty awesome TV.

Rating + 4 Very satisfied

Pros: I have now owned this great t.v. for a little over a month. It came shipped to my door in flawless condition. It took about 5 min. to get it hooked up and turned on. I was a little bit disappointed with the colors and sharpness, but it took less than a minute to fix with the remote. The 360 looks amazing now, and I also have my computer using the VGA ports. It has tons of input connections, which I appreciate since I have the 360, Gamecube, PS2, N64, and the computer.

Cons: Well, the only complaint that I have is the absolutely ridiculous menus and remote. If you say, happen to set the t.v. to "showroom", you cut yourself off of making certain changes to the set, i.e. PIP. Also, it seems that you must point the remote directly at the receiver or it may not pick up the commands.

Other Thoughts: The price when I bought this was simply irresistible. I may get a wall mount but since I'm in college I can't exactly drill into the walls. Overall I am very satisfied, and would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to go HD on a budget.

Rating + 5 Great Buy!!!

Pros: Great picture for the money, so clear and bright, I normally leave it it in "Dark Room" mode regardless of lighting conditions. based on previous reviews thought UPS was going to destroy the box, received without so much as a scratch on the box - way relieved. Haven't tweaked a thing yet and looks fantastic. Digital cable looks good, DVD's with HDMI upconversion is awesome. Unlike others, remote is simple and seems to work just fine.

Cons: For whatever reason can't split screen between Tuner and VGA @ the same time. Experienced two episodes where the sound would turn into a solid irritating "tone" (cable signal problem?). Was hoping HD broadcasts (NFL playoffs, etc) would remove the "stretch effect" and still show a widescreen HD picture without the stretch - not the case :(

Other Thoughts: Can't wait to try XBOX 360 (next purchase). Highly recommend, and want another one!

Rating + 5 Great TV at a GREAT PRICE!

Pros: Very good Brights!! Decent contrast, PIP, actually plays 1080p even though it says it doesn't....

Cons: Poor Packaging, Remote is a lil cheap, no dedicated PIP button, stupid blue light when unit is powered

Other Thoughts: Just wanna say to the guy that said his unit doesn't power on, there's a toggle I/O switch on the back, I'm guessing you never turned it on.

Now to the TV. WOW!! This TV is fantastic for the price! I put my XBox 360 on 1080p and this TV actually diplays it. The display says 1920x1080 @60Hz....don't know how but it does.

Anyways, for the price you absolutely can't beat it!! BUY IT, you won't regret it!

Pros: Great HD quality, SD is so so, tons of input and out put options.

Cons: Remote sucks, as well as the the TV's menus, but they are both workable. It would have been nice to have gotten DVI rather then VGA but small complaint.

Other Thoughts: It's a strong TV for being an off brand, better then I thought i was going to get, so over all very pleased with it.

Rating + 3 Its ok ...but can do better

Pros: PRICE PRICE PRICE...thats about it

Cons: The blacks / contrast on this tv are awfull. If you put it side by side to another lcd, (such as a vizio) you will see that the blacks / contrast just looks off - the blacks just look too bright. It just seems it doesn't have enough rich color.

Other Thoughts: If you have the extra few dollars to spend, I would go for a better tv. The ps3 /xbox 360 looks ok on it..but again ..blacks blacks blacks look to diluted..

Rating + 5 This Makes 2

Pros: Out of the box ready to go. You won't need a 9 year old kid to set it up for you. Excellent picture and sound quality. More than your money's worth on this deal. Don't fret about the fact that you may have never heard of Olevia, (Syntax-Brillian)... you will.

Cons: the 237V has an issue with some remote controls in that it won't respond to codes. I've searched and tried virtually all codes and none work. Cox Cable says that some TV's just aren't adaptable to their remotes. The factory remote isn't that bad, just unhandy having to use 2 remotes.

Other Thoughts: This is the second Olevia 37" HDTV I've purchased. The ex-wife got the first one so I bought another. Best investment I've made in a long time. I have to give NewEgg a big thumbs up on shipping. I expected it on a Monday but UPS showed up on a Friday night. As usual, the Egg rocks.

Pros: Quality. Style. Performance.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.
the split screen is very kool. I can watch tv on one side and my pc on the other @ tha same time.
this tv has alot of inputs, only one hdmi input.
dvd movies look great running on my original XB, using rca's.video games look and run excellent, again using rca's.
my video card sucks. so im only running 800X600 resolution. it still looks good. using VGA input.
the usb input is a plus, for updating to the latest firmware.
the hdtv tuner is sweet.
this lcd looks good.

Cons: when powered off. the BLUE light turns on. its bright and lights up the room haha. the box mine was shipped in, was not very protective. it was shipped undamaged. I give two thumbs up to the shipping company.

Other Thoughts: I like this lcd so much. I got another one.

Rating + 5 MMM HD TV ahhhhhhhhh

Pros: For the price I paid basically everything is a pro! Great picture, Slick looking Case (All black very nice), Easy Menu, Huge picture. Decent Speakers. HDMI, VGA, Coaxil.

Possibly some sort of a QMA tuner in there. Picks up some over cable Stations but not a lot. Haven't tried out the ATSC tuner for OTA HD Broadcasts.

Comcast Digital Cable look amazing on this! MY Laptop via VGA looks incredible! My 6800 go card puts out images almost = to an Xbox 360.

Cool PIP and Split Screen. Remote is better then trash :)

Cons: No padding in the box!!! None!! A thin piece of plastic over the screen thats it!

The thing is that those of use used to buying TV's from the floor probably don't realize they are all shipped like this. But still its scary to see your TV show up like that!

Mine had what I'd call a pressure lump and crack on the top right plastic towards the back. The bump is about a half inch tall and the crack very small as well. Neither effected the TV's function. However, I called Olevia and made them note this in their Notes when I registered the TV so that I wouldn't be blamed or charged if the TV needed service.

Ok other then shipping minor things:

No PIP button on the remote itself. (must use menu button etc.)

Two HDMI would have been nice. DVI rather then VGA would have been nice.

It wasn't 100% Free :)

Nothing that would make me send it back or feel bad for paying what I did!

Other Thoughts: Seriously I am extremely happy with this purchase. Olevia has a great picture and their Customer service was great.

I couldn't be happier. The only downside was the packing which was horrific and the tiny crack on the plastic which was uncool as well.

I got 450 dollar in Newegg gift cards for XMAS so this TV barely cost anything :)

Maybee if the price somehow drops to 500 in the next year I'll buy another :)

Oh yea newegg rocks!

Rating + 5 Good TV

Pros: Nice size, not too small, not too big. Build in tuner. Works well and looks good

Cons: Only 1 HDMI input. Cannot switch input with 1 push of a button, need to scroll through all inputs. PIP is a PITA. Takes 10 seconds to turn on.

Other Thoughts: I am in no way a TV expert. I just wanted a nice TV for a nice price. This TV is excellent for the price (six ninetynine). I donot have digital cable, but picture looks good with DVD with analog input. Plugged my laptop into the VGA port. Supports only 12xxX7xx resolution, not 1600X900, but picture quality is still good. Response time is also good. ATSC tuner works good, some channels have bands across the picture, but I think that is just a bad signal.

Rating + 5 Excellent for Price

Pros: Bought this for my kids gameroom, so that they would quit hogging my HDTV downstairs. Went as low as I could on the price. All I can say is "wow". The picture is great, not perfect, but great. HD broadcasts look excellent and the kids love it for their games. I don't have to worry about burn-in on the display, and oh, did I mention the price?

Cons: This was the biggest (size)purchase I had made from Newegg and I was apprehensive of the shipping. The brown truck guys delivered it with only a small dent in one side of the box,so I accepted it. Was worried when I first turned it on, the blue LED was on but nothing else happened. I knew from reading other reviews of the power switch on the back and had it on.
I ended up unplugging the unit for 30 seconds and then the set worked.

Other Thoughts: Newegg consistently has the best prices, if your willing to keep coming back and looking.

Pros: This is the best value for your money. I tested several. Works great bought 3 of them.

Cons: Would have liked direct access of inputs on remote.

Other Thoughts: I ordered two of these after recieving one before. UPS messed up the delivery of one of them (they sent it to Texas! I'm in CT)they would do nothing about this and it was a Xmas gift! Newegg made it right on thier own by sending another right away and adjusting shipping so my son would have it for Xmas. Thanks Newegg! Your eggstra special!
