Very Solid Case
- Pros: Just a really solid construction- no skimping. The metal and finishes uses are very professional looking. The mobo tray is nice and works well. Two fan ports in back is nice. Air flow from fan placement is very good.
- Cons: Documentation that came with it was pretty sparse for a first timer. Built in fans are a little noisy.
- Other Thoughts: This is my first build and in looking in a store at different brands so many seemed really cheap and too much plastic or un-necessary additions to design. The Lian Li cases, and this one in particular are just built with the best materials. Not the cheapest, by far, but you get what you pay for.
- Pros: The case has Art Deco design that is a lot nicer in person - complete opposite of the Sonata case I almost bought. No wonder Lian Li has it under its "classic" line. The modular design and removable mobo try are wonderful. This case can morph into a lot of different configurations. You can make air flow, drive bays etc. into what works best for you. Lian Li has nice card reader and other add-ons to keep making case as you would like it
- Cons: I always had "tool-less" cases with no screws before this so screwing down drives was a bit of a culture shock since I was used to swapping drives in and out with great ease. The stand-off screws for mobo can be a bit tickly to use. Make sure to push stand-offs all the way in until they are flush with panel.
- Other Thoughts: This case is a nice blend of classic good looks (and by "classic" I also mean "artistic" and not just plain and dull like Sonata) and well designed functionality. The screws are more work but not a burden. Working on the case feels like playing an instrument and not just getting into wrestling match with metal block.
Exactly what I wanted
- Pros: This was exactly want I was looking for in a case. I wanted the MB Tray, the blow hole, and the ability to put in 5.25 HDD coolers. I have heard people say it's a hot case but with my coolers I have extra fans and my case runs cool enough for me. I like that I can put the fan and power buttons between my DVD and my HDD coolers.
- Cons: floppy cover is a bit tricky at first to set right
- Other Thoughts: The super bright LED lights are way cool and act as a night light for me :) This was the first Lian Li case I ever got but now I am hooked and never want another brand. As always, Newegg is beter than good.
