Clean modern lines combined with ultra-modern performance, Lian-li's PC-A05-B is the ideal tower. Housing two 5.25" and one 3.5" External drive bays, it saves space by leaving out redundant drive bays made obsolete by today's multipurpose ROM drives.
It hasn't forgotten the internal hard drives that are so necessary today, leaving space for three 3.5" internal drives. It also gives easy access to two USB 2.0 ports ,an IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port and two audio ports up front. This case makes cooling a literal breeze. It has two 120mm ball bearing fans: one located in front of the hard drives for intake, and another in the rear of the case for exhaust.
This causes a constant cooling cross breeze over all your sensitive equipment protecting them from the ravages of heat. The A05-B supports ATX Motherboards 12" x 9.6" or smaller, with 7 PCI expansion slots in the rear.

Lian li Quality!
- Pros: Excellent build quality, very quiet (with very good air flow),
easy access to all areas.
- Cons: Either the manual for my abit IP35 pro has the wrong pin numbers for the HD audio Front panel connector, or the manual for this case does. Doesn't matter the functions match up, just not the numbers.
Be sure to use the HD audio connector if your mobo requires it, the AC97 plug can do damage.
- Other Thoughts: This is my second build using a Lian Li case, and I am very pleased with this case.
My focus for this build was a QUIET PC with HTPC abilities and performance (not into gaming, which made it much easier to choose a video card).
If you want quiet from this case, you need only find a quiet PSU, (I chose the Corsair HX 620) and a good CPU HSF that'll let you keep the fan slow, and you will have a very quiet PC (a non blow torch CPU helps).
I installed My PSU right side up, (fan on bottom) which leaves plenty of room for the fan to suck air.
I have 3 Hard drives (1 36GB Raptor for OS, 2 WD 500GB RE drives RAID 1 for storage) and the front fan has plenty of flow to keep the drives & system cool.
E6850 CPU, TT V1 HSF, Abit IP35 Pro, 4GB G.Skill PC2 5300 CL4, MSI 8500GT with HDMI and passive HS, LiteOn SATA DVD burner, will add LG BR/HD-DVD reader later, Vista Ultimate.
To see my build search Websh0ts for 'martmannpics lokiju'
Perfect for mini-server.
- Pros: Plenty of room for everything despite being a small case. The aluminum design is top notch with rolled edges on everything. Good cooling with 2 120MM fans, easily replaceable. ATX motherboard fitment is easy, as well as ATX power supply. Can fit a large gaming video card in the case if you need to.
- Cons: No cons here for me. I knew what I was buying and it fit my needs perfectly.
- Other Thoughts: I made this my small file server and put in an Athena Power 3-in-2 SATA hot swap where the two 5.25'' bays are. This gives me room for 7 hard drives in the case (3 of them being hot swappable racks). If you need a small file server case, seriously consider this. It works well and looks stealthy. When you get creative, it provides much more room than you think.

Very Nice
- Pros: * Sturdy construction with 120V quiet fans in the front and back.
* PSU is at the front bottom of the case, which I like because it puts that weight at the bottom of the case which is more stable than at the top. * It uses rubber wheels to attach the hard drives to the case. It makes it very easy to pop them in and out and it surprisingly holds them in place securely. * The front of the case pops out easily. The doors on the sides slide back easily. No tools required to remove these doors, just my hands.
- Cons: * Needs a fan on the top back of the case. Heat goes up and there's no fan up there to efficiently remove that heat. It's not bad, but it would give the case 5 stars.
* The black finish is nice and shows fingerprints. I don't mind it too much since I don't touch the case, but some people may not like that.
- Other Thoughts: It's my first case and I'm pretty happy with it. A friend of mine who has been building his own systems for more than 10 years had this same case in his wish list. He really liked it when he saw it at my house.
The system I built in this case is: * Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H Micro ATX * CPU: AMD 6000+ * Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS * RAM: Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB DDR2 800 * PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W * Optical Drive: Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model DVR-116DBK - OEM * HD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB
great case
- Pros: very light case. good quality aluminum. understated looks although could be on the bland side depending on your style. has minitower height but fits a 260gtx just fine with no adjustments to any other components. might even be able to fit two 260s without any problems.
- Cons: motherboard tray is not removable. hard drive cage is not removable. air circulation could be problematic although I have not noticed any problems. lens for hard drive activity led fell off and had to be stuck back on.
- Other Thoughts: seems like this thing is made to be modded. a case window and fan would make this case look great. as others have said, it does leave fingerprints.
Nice case
- Pros: Sleek looking. Everything fits well. Rubber grommets for HD mounting. I can pick it up. Running an ASUS M4A79T with Q-fan enabled, very quiet. Without Q-fan it's loud. X3 720 running BOINC 100% runs at 43C. Not OC yet. I would buy this case again.
- Cons: Blinding power on LED, cured with tape.
- Other Thoughts: Watch for power supply length. PCP&C 610 barely clears my MB. Had to mount it so the PS cable bundle was high above the MB or I can't get the MB out without sliding the PS forward. Cooling: Not an issue now, but after OC and a hotter video card we'll see. Removing the front drops the CPU temp 4C, so there is obviously restricted exhaust flow.
