Just solved the vibration issue with the side panels!
- Pros: See how below
- Cons: See how below
- Other Thoughts: I'm sitting here annoyed by the rattling side panels to the point I feel like punching this case and I suddenly got an idea. I just fixed the problem. Take off the side panels and place some tight fitting rubber bands over the three bottom clips that latch onto the case. Then put the side panels back on. Mine was a little tight, but NO MORE RATTLING!!!
Same problems as user levi_v, and more!
- Pros: Looks very nice, lightweight, no sharp edges. I recommend getting the version that has the 120mm rear exhaust like I did, if you must get this case at all.
- Cons: Mine also rattles too much from the side pannel near the front.
The top blow hole is worthless. I tried 4 different "silent" fans and all 4 produced terribly loud vibrations and air noise. I even used a silcone fan mount to reduce vibration. The problem is that the cut out does not provide enough air flow. You have to run a silent fan at 6v or less, or else it's too loud.
The HD bracket is mounted with two screws that get blocked when you install the drives, which makes it impossible to re-mount the HD caddy. You can't install the HD's unless the removable HD caddy is in place and screwed to the case. This makes the removable HD caddy completely non-removeable. I suppose you could get around this problem if you were to replace the two screws used with some thumb screws.
My other problem was my rear fan started making noises after 2 weeks. I tried contacting Lian Li for a replacement and they ignored me. I tried contacting ADDA, and they told me to contact Lian Li.
- Other Thoughts: Little problems and oversights/lack of engineering combinded with unacceptable customer service should not be words used to describe a $100 case and its manufacturer. I thought I was buying top of the line, but it turns out I just overpaid. I seriously doubt I will ever buy another Lian Li case.
Great looking and functioning case
- Pros: Case is very easy to work with. Front pannel comes off for ease of access to fan filter. The front usb and firewire are great. The brushed aluminum looks great and very professional. I have built all my machines with Antec cases but I will change to use Lian Li cases from now on.
- Cons: not at all. well maybe leaving finger prints on the inside of the shiny aluminum but who will look inside anyway.
- Other Thoughts: You will not be disappointed
