Chenming’s server case is designed to hold lots of equipment in a relatively small space. The motherboard tray can handle the 12x13 EATX boards for server applications. There are 10 drive bays, four external 5.25” and six 3.5” (two external, four internal). It’s all wrapped up in a charcoal black shell supported by a 1.0mm SECC frame.

System setup is a simple process. Take out the 3.5” drive bays, install the motherboard and while the bays are out, install the drives then put the bays back in. The 5.25” bays have sliding rails to make optical drive installation a snap.

As system power needs increase power supplies are getting larger and heavier. Chenming took this into account when designing the case and installed structural rails along each side to support the PSU. This will also help the overall structural rigidity of the case.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: I've been wanting to get this case for a long time since I'm a fan of the understated and can't get into all that bling and acrylic windows. At first I was hoping it would be a tad darker, but the charcoal color helps it stand out a little in the sea of piano black gloss cases that are running around.

Cons: The front USB connector is a little loose, I've got this nasty feeling I'm going to snap it some day when I yank out my thumb drive.
The screws should have been separated out instead of all thrown together in the one bag.

Other Thoughts: It's actually not all that roomy in there if you have a high end video card and attempt to mount a hard drive right across from it. I had to remove the plastic fan holder from that section to get the hard drive to fit. Not a big problem though, just FYI.

4 out of 5 eggsCase

Pros: Nice size, roomy. 80mm fans are the right size for cooling. Removable HD drive bays are nice and easy. Like the extra support for a nice heavy duty PSU.

Cons: The 5.4 drive bay rails are less than adequate. I rip the front door off anyway.

Other Thoughts: Built several Rigs using this case and almost ready to build another for myself. Considering this case again, as I rework pretty much everything I'll see how I can fix the slide rails in the 5.4 on my current Chenming before diving in again though.

Never had a case where I leave the side panel on, so It's worthless for me to worry about the new 'Windowless' panel.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: Sturdy design. Lots of room to work with.

Cons: none, this case rocks

Other Thoughts: front door could be better, but for the price it dosnt matter. You will run out of stuff to put in this before it runs out of space to hold it. Its very heavy, not a lan rig but looks sweet sitting in your room.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Heavy duty, easy to work with, large.

Cons: Large.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case about 7 years ago and used the original 420 watt power supply for about 6... with the fans removed. It still is in great shape. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is case is perfect for custom built server, plenty of room and it's well built. And best of all no windows, disco lights or other useless junk. Just a nice solid case.

Cons: This case did at one time come with a 500 watt power supply, but oh well it's still worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fantastic Case.
I have purchased 4 of these cases and I would buy more. There is plenty of room for everything. If you buy 2 more fans for the front intake, the cooling is fantastic. This case is perfect for servers and regular workstations or gaming computers. Best case i ever bought. Sturdy Construction.

Cons: None really. Front door lock can easily be broken into. (I don't use them anyway)

Other Thoughts: The little feet add stability and the door keeps the front of the case looking clean and neat.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Great case!! High quality construction and rounded edges to prevent cuts. I have never bent or broke this case in any way.

Cons: It is getting a little small for me, but I have serveral HDDs and large cards. I also may need more room to implement a water cooling system.

Other Thoughts: Just a great case. You will have this one for life!

2 out of 5 eggsCheap Rubbish

Pros: Cheap, uses EATX, and quite large.

Cons: It's got the twin charms of being both heavy and flimsy at the same time. It has sharp edges too. It's very poorly made, complete junk, and disagreeable to work with. It came bent and was difficult to even open.

Other Thoughts: If you need something cheap that will use EATX, and don't mind working with garbage, then this is for you. You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: It's great for modding! It's big and flashy and great for LAN parties. The keyed front panel and side panel are extremely useful. The paint is not glossy so it can just be painted over without priming or stripping it. Very roomy for just about any additions you want to make.

Cons: Its big. Though a mod that adds a top handle is the solution to this, it is still large but... depends on what you like.
