Do you want your next computer to stand out from the crowd? Tired of beige boxes? Here's an ATX-compatible mid-sized tower that should do the trick. An empty slot lets you select the power supply right for you. Seven I/O slots and numerous drive bays give you room for expansion
NZXT Beta boasts a 120mm blue LED front intake fan as well as three 120mm fan holes on the side panel and rear panel for supreme airflow. Two USB 2.0 ports, two audio ports and one e-SATA port on the top make connections easy to reach. Screwless installation makes for faster installations and faster component swaps, and no tiny screws to get hopelessly lost.
Stylish without being gaudy; could this be your next computer case?

Great Case
- Pros: Bought 2, great airflow, esata, watercooling option, nice powder coat finish, plenty of room for every thing today and later. Thin steel but no bow or pop to it.
- Cons: HD audio cable had to be routed next to the motherboard, under the graphics card.... don't like it but minor. Plastic "Screwless installation for external 5.25" drives" parts are cheap and thin, but i don't mind putting in screws. The hard drive rails are fine.
- Other Thoughts: In 14 years of owning a computers this is only the second case I have purchased and I bought 2, I am very happy with this case!!
- Pros: Good low-priced case suitable for modifications. Can accommodate a Sapphire 4870 without problem. Looks like it is made for water-cooling which is not a bad idea these days. The front-facing hard disk array is easily accessed. The side panels can be interchanged. Expansion slot covers are made of wire-grill that allows air-intake. Powder-coated black inside and out. There are two header connectors coming out of the Audio connector at top - one for Intel HD Audio and the other for AC97. You connect the one that you want to your motherboard and leave the other dangling.
- Cons: Has air-flow problem because of the low position of hard disk mount. Ideally, that mount should be front-facing (like now) but elevated about 120 mm above the chassis bottom so that the lower front intake fan can blow air unobstructed into the chassis. And getting rid of that useless 3.5" bay, covered by front grill without any opening, would be a great idea!
The expansion slot covers are actually wire-mesh allowing air-flow. So, if you design a particular air-flow path with added fans, these would disturb the designed flow path.
If you are trying to run Prime95 longterm with an overclocked system, this is not the right chassis. However, I do exactly that and I had to add extra fans on side panels and in unused drive bay to get more air into the chassis. And then Prime95 runs fine overnight!
- Other Thoughts: I have not tested the Audio connector on top -- I mean, the jack itself. HD Audio demands that the switch inside the jack must be no-connect when nothing is inserted in the jack. The AC97 jacks are the other way around... that switch must be ON when nothing is inserted! So, the nett result of using an AC97 jack in HD Audio setup is that jack-sensing capability is lost -- back panel speakers continue to receive signal when you insert a headphone at the front. I have not tested what this jack is in this chassis. I suspect it is AC97.
Ideally, the chassis makers should start shipping the panel with both types of audio jacks; not just AC97 jacks. Or, they could break up the main panel in two parts where you stick in it the AC97 sub-panel or HD-Audio subpanel depending on your setup. A single jack cannot serve for AC97 and HD-Audio while preserving full functionality.

Awsome Case
- Pros: * One of the first cases I actually like the design
* Excellent build quality * Easy set up * Nice design without going overboard * Comes with extra screws, clips * Cost is excellent for what you get with this case
- Cons: * Some of the mother board mounts dint go in the case, I think screw holes were to small no big deal.
- Other Thoughts: Bought this with an extra 120mm fan for the back and now its running cooler and looks cleaner than my previous case.
Would definitely recommend even if not on a budget.
Excellent Case for the money!
- Pros: Inexpensive, roomy on the inside, internal floppy bay (not for access from outside the case), hard disk bays are accessible from side (no need to remove the cage or PCI/PCIe card to access them), PCI slot covers are mesh so there is extra airflow, as well as the front panel allowing additional airflow, side cover has 2 mounts for 120mm fans, motherboard mounting plate has holes for better cable routing, screw-less drive mounting worked very well for me.
- Cons: The sheet metal is rather thin, be careful not to bang the case around or to store anything on the side covers (both on and off the computer), having the power and HD lights be the power and reset buttons with REALLY bright blue LEDs, having the eSata/USB/Headphone ports on the top of the case where things can fall into them (including dust) and where it's easy to yank a cable and break off the plug, only 1 fan stock and it is not a performance model either
- Other Thoughts: I bought this case so that I could keep my system cool, I added two more 120mm fans to the stock one that was on the front. One of the fans I added is the rear exhaust and the other is mounted to the lower fan mount on the side panel blowing air onto the motherboard and PCI/PCIe cards. This keeps the system real cool!
I tried to install dust filters on fans on the side panel and ran into heat problems! I guess the dust filters reduced the airflow on the PCI/PCIe cards and south-bridge enough that it caused problems. This is a video editing workstation and is not overclocked, but I need RELIABILITY most of all and this case gives that to me. But I am annoyed that the dust covers caused problems!
Great Case
- Pros: Great looking case. Everything installed very easily. This case can accommodate for a Radeon HD 4870 with room to spare. This case is housing my Core 2 Quad build, and I have had zero problems with my pc temperature wise. In every 120mm fan space, I put in an R4-L2R Fan. Regardless of people saying this case gets good airflow, I have had no problems in that department. I set the two side fans as intake, the rear fan as exhaust, and the front fan as an intake as well to cool the hard drives.
- Cons: The stock front fan is a little weak on the air intake, however i have not looked in my bios to see if this fan is controlled by my motherboard, which I should probably do. Also, the disc drive/hard drive mounting hardware is a little cheap, but still functional. None of this was bad enough to change my mind that this is, in fact, a brilliant case.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a gorgeous case. I would think that a case of this quality would cost 70 to 80 dollars, but thats why I <3 NZXT. I would buy this case 1000 times over again. Not only do I get exceptional air flow, It's very sleek looking. Like a stealth bomber.
For those of you who want a case with a side panel, look no further. I just contacted NZXT, and they have confirmed that the side panel to the NZXT "Alpha" will fit directly onto this case. If you email their support group, they will send you an order form to order the side panel for that case. I'm kind of thinking about it. The only thing you would lose by getting that windowed side panel, is 1 120mm fan spot.
If you are on a budget, and want a truly high performance case, buy this case right now.
