One might say that a case is just a case, and that the heart of your computer is what goes inside, but that's giving short shrift to this versatile and strong case from Rosewill. The Black R5605 is built of 0.8mm Japanese cold rolled steel, with enough room for all the goodies to build a killer system.
With four external 5.25", one external 3.5" and five internal 3.5" bays and a rousing seven expansion slots, you can create a monster! Two 120mm fans, front and rear, direct outer air across your components to keep you cool in the hottest action, and easy clean filters in the front and left minimize dust fouling up the delicate works.
Inserting items in the case is both easy and safe, thanks to rolled edges, sliding rails, and a screwless assembly. There’s no scraping your knuckles here! Unique attention to detail provides you with a stable platform and a case that’ll be the envy of any other modder out there!

Perfect !! Competes with the Antec Sonata III.
- Pros: (1) Looks sharp and sleek, (2) easy to reach external power button and usb/audio connectors, (3) filtered airflow through front and cpu vents, (4) includes two fairly-quiet 120mm fans, (5) holds 4 HDs internally, (6) easy to work with the components on inside of case, (7) 0.8mm steel exterior, (8) "accessory box" for stashing unused parts on computers with only 1 or 2 PCs, (9) lightweight, (10) front door opens 250 degrees, (11) excellent price, (12) excellent expandability while maintaining a mini-tower size, (13) no PSU included, so you can get a very-quiet, affordable, and reliable Coolmax V-500
- Cons: When the case is on a floor next to a desk, the 3.5" drive is so close to the top of the door that it is entirely invisible from a normal sitting position. It's nice that it's high up, where it should be for cardreaders, but you can't see the slots unless you bend way over. Of course, you could use a 5.25"-3.5" adaptor and just put your cardreader in the first 5.25" slot, as there is four of them. It's perfect for floppy drives, though, as nobody uses them anymore. Also, the front and rear 120mm fans have only 3-pin connectors. (Hope that your motherboard has two connectors!) Hopefully Rosewill will include a 3-4 pin adapter in their next revision.
- Other Thoughts: I was going to buy the Antec Sonata III, but it is very pricey. So I found this one, and would nearly choose it over the Antec anyway. This case is perfect for both the average business/home user or the power user, as it has plenty of room in it while still maintaining a small mini-tower case size. Rosewill removed the support brace commonly placed below the power supply, but the 0.8mm steel still maintains case rigity, and consequently the case is both lighter and easier to work inside of. For people with only one (or two) HDs, the accessory box is a brilliant idea and is perfect for stashing all of the extra HD rails and etc that you otherwise lose. Note that although the 5.25" bays are on sliding rails, you must remove the front cover to access the bays (vs. sacrificing styling). The included 120mm fans are fairly quiet. Also, the front of the case and cpu vent have filters on them, although you have to remove the front cover to remove the front filter -- with difficulty.
Almost as good as Sonata II
- Pros: Two 120mm Case fans. Easy to use snap off front plate. Good airflow. The power buttons and usb are in a very easy place for my application. Firewire support.
- Cons: No reset switch (no big deal really) This case includes a mini toolbox that looks cool and is a neat idea - but it blocks the airflow of the case if you leave it in - so just take it out.
- Other Thoughts: A great all around solidly build case. The side lock is very rugged and the front door locks as well. For the price I'm very happy.

Easy build
- Pros: Great case for anyone it has a sleek look devices install sturdy. I like that some external inputs like the headphone and mic are at the top of the case like a full tower. nice. It comes with two fans so plenty of cooling. Well thought out case for the price. I really like the professional look of this case not to flashy with to many lights.
- Cons: Only con I really have is the storage box that is on the inside. Its not really a con. I think it blocks ventilation on the front fan. It can be removed so no big deal there.
- Other Thoughts: I had a easy build with this case and would recommend it to anyone. Relatives are wanting me to build there next computers so I will probably use this product again.
Lovin it
- Pros: Honestly what I like so much about it is the fact thatone, it's open, and two the door and side panel both have locks (My bro ruins all of my stuff.
- Cons: No big ones the drive bay door seems a bit flimsy but other than that none.
- Other Thoughts: I'm amazing.
Eggggcellent case!
- Pros: Sturdy construction. Lot's of drive rails. Quiet fans. Front panel cables plenty long to reach my mini-atx motherboard.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Door in front seems kind of flimsy but I don't plan on opening it that much, this wil be a server machine.
