The Smilodon case from Raidmax makes assembling a system easier than ever before. It has a modular, tool-less design that makes the initial build and future upgrades easy. Both side panels latch into place for easy access. For the ultimate in convenience the right side panel has the motherboard tray completed with backplate attached. This lets you install the mobo and all your cards, then lock it into the case as a single unit.
Drive installation couldn’t be easier. The external bays all use Clicklock technology, just slide the drive into the bay and lock it into place. The hard drive rack is removable for easy installations and upgrades. All of the necessary drive rails come in a slide out box so you don’t lose them.
Once you have everything assembled you need to make sure it stays cool. In addition to the fan on the 500W power supply Raidmax has loaded the case with plenty of additional fans. A 120mm fan is mounted on the front of the case to draw cool air in and blow it across the hard drives. Side and rear mounted 80mm fans keep the air moving over all critical components. There is also an 80mm fan with blue LEDs that mounts to a support brace that holds your expansion cards steady and blows cool outside air over them.

Simply Amazing
- Pros: This case is just wow... The ventilation is excellent, it's very well built, the blue lighting is awesome. It's not flimsy what so ever, the HD case that comes out is simply fantastic, it also has a 120 mm fan circulating air right on the HD's.
- Cons: I absolutly love this case, but there is a few things with the power supply. The 20 pin connector that goes to the motherboard from power supply is kinda short, so be very careful when opening the motherboard side after connecting it, you have to disconnect it before opening the motherboard side. Hmm theres a few minor things, this case weighs about 30-40 pounds but thats because its well built, also the magnets that hold the front cover are kinda weak but its not a big deal.
- Other Thoughts: This case has to be the best case i've ever bought, if you want to make a great investment here it is...
Great Versatile Case
- Pros: First things first...the placement of the additional intake fans: You have one intake blowing cold air right into the processor, and another intake blowing right into the vid card. The second great thing about this case is the true ease of getting in and out: all you have to do is tug on the release handles on either side and the panel drops down, very easy, very quick. The slots are all fitted with quick-connect clips, so all you have to do is twist, remove, insert drive, replace, twist and you're done. Easily the most user-friendly case I've ever worked with. Cooling is nice, with an even airflow moving around inside. Just a great overall case.
- Cons: I really can't think of any, this was just a great case that I can see using for many builds.
- Other Thoughts: Includes studs for your mobo, power supply is very quiet in addition to the fans.

broken power supply
- Pros: lots of fans, cool looking case
- Cons: Shipped with Raidmax KY-500S Power Supply installed (for extra fee) - had one broken fan blade loose inside P/S. Also, one of the standoffs for m/b attachment was stripped on case side plate.
- Other Thoughts: not worth the RMA hassle
- Pros: -fold out/removable motherboard tray makes it easy to work with
-lots of fans!!! -more spacious than it looks -removable HDD tray
- Cons: -IMPORTANT! If you are buying this case make sure you also buy a SATA power adapter, the power supply seems to have been designed for a smaller case than this, the joined SATA power connectors will most likely not reach both your optical drive and hard drive.
-cheap 'break-off' expansion slot brackets -wish the fans included 3-pin connectors. not a big deal though. -the way the front doors cover absolutely everything, including the power button and usb's, is kind of annoying.
- Other Thoughts: I did take an egg off for the power supply's inadequate cables. Waiting for my power adapter is depriving me 3 extra days of enjoying my awesome new PC.
Overall I'm fairly satisfied with what I got for the money.
Not A Great Great Case But Good Service
- Pros: I bought this because it looked like a great gaming case and had great ease of access and plenty of ventilation.
- Cons: Shortly after buying this unit I noticed that the red HDD LED was not visible. During MFG it didnt make it into the view area. I went ahead and opened up the top case layer and moved the red LED over. Perfect. Then I had a problem with the USB conn staying put in the headers. not a good thing. But worse was (1) on the back side where the small wires are routed around the bottom from the front panel into the case it gets easily pinched in various various areas if you are not really careful. Not a good design in routing. (2) A fan just failed that apparently had to do also where the shut off switch for the PC so when I tried to replace it I removed the power. With the Fan failed the Fan was hot and don't like that type of design either.
- Other Thoughts: Not sure if others have seen this type of design but power switching and fan power I believe should be mutual exclusive. I would have loved to have kept this case but am now looking for a different one.
