Amazing
- Pros: This controls all the fans you would ever need plus it gives apt warning when your computer gets too hot. I like the option to manually control the RPM and it is very useful, plus it shows the time! And it has any color setting to match your PC. Plus it gauges fan speed to match your cooling needs. Alarm works great, despite what others say, the thing simply alarms at high temperatures, if your fan isn't configured right, or if you removed a fan while it was on, easliy silenced while you work by holding the alarm button for a short while. Combo SD and MEM Card slots work great!
- Cons: Sets warning temp by 10 degree intervals only, no inbetween like 65c. It took me awhile to figure out it was alarming because I removed a fan.
- Other Thoughts: Great controller, Pros outweigh cons, very recommended!
Neat idea poorly done
- Pros: It's pretty and looks cool. Card reader does work.
- Cons: Where to start... wires need sleeves, sorry but it is a mess to install. The unit also has batteries which will wear out and require you do de-install it to replace. *Never* got the thing to control fans and the buttons are so far to the sides that your case mounting (Nexus breeze) will rub up against them. Unit *always* beeps annoyingly at startup and there is no way around this.
- Other Thoughts: Someday I hope someone actually makes a fan controller that both looks good, is easy to install and maintain, and actually works. I've about given up. This unit looks really cool, but the wire rats nest is a pain and the unit doesn't actually control the fans without crashing the PC.
Garbage
- Pros: Card reader works well. Variety of color choices. Fan speed controllability of 40-45% max RPM.
- Cons: Alarm usually goes off at startup. Poorly mounted plugs on circuitboard leads to bad connection, random fan disconnects (and annoying beeps). Sometimes locks up completely, requiring restart. Horrible interface--difficult to turn dial, plastic buttons feel cheap. LCD brightness fades exponentially with time.
- Other Thoughts: Everything about this controller was a complete disaster. I purchased one for each of two different machines 7 months ago, both (eventually) exhibited same problems stated above. Was never able to get icon utilities to install on any of three different operating systems. I love my ThermalTake case, but I'm not sure I trust anything of theirs that requires plugging-in.
