Pros: Works Well.

Cons: None.

Pros: Does a fine job and for the money, has already outlasted my expectations.

Cons: Feels a little cheap, but like I said, for the money it's actually pretty nice.

Pros: Good quality metal. Has a regular case fan mounted in it with little tabs to manage the cable- which is great if the fan dies because you can replace the fan VERY easily. The fan is mounted with 4 standard fan screws, nothing proprietary or permanent(except the build quality of the mount) Has decently placed notches cut for mounting onto HDD.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this with the intention of mounting it atop my VelociRaptor but decided that it wasn't worth the effort of pulling the converted cage out. My HDD sits in front of a 120mm fan as is.

Pros: Did what it should, for a while.

Cons: The fan now makes such a high pitched humming noise even the dog ran away. I am sure the fan is about to fail after only 3 weeks. SAD!!!

Other Thoughts: I will have to get a new fan. Sometimes you get a dud. I would consider buying a different/better quality cooler in the future. For under 10 bucks most can afford to roll the dice. Snake eyes for me though...

Pros: Got a couple of these on different drives and they work great.

Cons: none.

Pros: Cools effectively, fan can be replaced with a less noisy fan, very lightweight and simple design.

Cons: Stock fan is noisy, especially after a while.

Other Thoughts: My Shuttle box is very tight, and airflow is very restricted. The HDD sits right above the Northbridge, memory, and Southbridge heatsinks, and so the heat naturally rises to cook the hdd. I added this to the drive on the electronics side and it did drop the temps, but was pretty noisy. I replaced the stock fan with a SilenX fan and ran it at 7V and it was pretty much just as effective and way less noisy, even if the fan cost me like $18, and this thing was well under $10. The whole idea was to cool the drive actively, as quietly as possible, and that combination of products worked well.

Pros: cooled my hot drive, good price

Cons: doesn't fit the drive bay very well, had to do mount my drive at an angle

Other Thoughts: 1 of my 4 drives was running way hotter than the rest, so I purchased this. It did the job, it just didn't fit the slot, as it increased the drive thickness. Can't complain, worked as advertised

Pros: I needed a HD cooler to cool a drive that I mounted in a 5.25 slot (with an adapter). I didn't need my drive to be hot swappable, so buying one of those ugly assemblies for $30-$50 wasn't an ideal solution, but this definitely was. I'm actually surprised that there isn't more competition for a product like this, I would think there would be more of a need for it. It's definitely a great idea, and with some tweaking, it can be the perfect solution.

Cons: I took two eggs off for the noise. This thing is noisy, really noisy... I'm not being picky either, it's noisy enough that it will bother you, trust me. It's the nosiest fan on my system by far... including an array of 3 HD cooling fans, a rear fan (pre installed in my case) my PSU and the CPU cooler... that's saying a lot!

Other Thoughts: I still like the concept, so I'm simply going to replace the fan with a quieter one, which should be easy enough. So basically, I just paid for the metal frame... but it's cheap enough to make it worth it. I just wish I had ordered a quiet fan along with it initially. Not a big deal at the end of the day.

Pros: - The price is not too bad ($7 shipped)

- Blows a good amount of air being a 80mm fan (actually one of the stronger cfm's in its class)

- As the product is for; goes on your HDD!

Cons: - Doesn't fit perfectly on my 3.5 HDD (installing it on scratched my HDD "a little", but not enough to knock an egg for it, as it is probably one of the only HDD fans on newegg or maybe anywhere, anyway).

Other Thoughts: - Making the same HDD fan with black coating would be really nice.

Pros: Works. Aluminum works as heat sink.

Cons: Moves more air than needed thus adding to noise.

Other Thoughts: Works well as is and I recommend it.

I took the pins out of the Molex connector that comes with the fan and switched it to the 5V side (move it from the yellow wire side to red). Changing it from 12V to 5V makes the fan run a little slower. It still moves more than enough air to cool a hard drive. My HDD temps are 26C at idle.
