Pros: It works, hasn't caught fire yet.

Cons: You may not need one? Check your motherboard manual to make sure you actually need this, many run with just a 4pin power plug.

4 pin to 8 pin adapter

Pros: My new Gigabyte Motherboard has an 8 pin 12V socket near the CPU socket. My PSU has a 4 pin cable. This adapter converts the 4 pin cable from the PSU into an 8 pin plug for the 8 pin socket on the motherboard. Works perfectly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: That 8 pin socket feeds 12 Volts to the CPU and other MB items like Video cards and such. This configuration I used, may put stress on the PSU if you run multiple high wattage components.
