MOBO DOA
- Pros: Didn't get far enough to find any.
- Cons: DOA. No indications of boot, and couldn't even get BIOS screen to load. No signal from onboard video or sound whatsoever after pressing power button, even with good power to the board (fans and peripherals running, power LEDs lit). This was with all known good components from a previous installation with a different make of motherboard. Resetting BIOS jumper didn't yield any results.
- Other Thoughts: Owner's manual (which existed in digital version only) didn't have any troubleshooting recommendations whatsoever.
Decent Motherboard
- Pros: I have had this motherboard for around 4 months. It has run nice, and cool. Everything is good on my end.
I even had to punish a bit to get my after market CPU fan on.
- Cons: Nothing besides the lack of over clock options. You can up your CPU a decent amount on this board, but not much.
- Other Thoughts: Good board for the casual builder who is on a budget and looking for a good board for the price.
No motherboard is perfect
- Pros: On my second reinstall of windows for this computer it now runs super fast and I really can't complain except for this...
- Cons: Who the heck puts an IDE connector at the BOTTOM of the motherboard!!! That is one thing about this board that I don't like because my IDE cable wasn't long enough to reach my secondary dvd-rom drive. I also had problems with the rear usb ports after installing the chipset software, they would not work. later I found out that you have to go in device manager and actually remove them and then restart, windows will then recognize them and they will work. By the way, avoid installing the Intel Audio Manager because it will lock up the computer if you have other programs running that it doesn't agree with.
- Other Thoughts: If you notice when you power it up, the "intel logo" screen at the bottom right corner counts in hexadecimal, I wonder why?
