2 out of 5 eggsMOBO DOA

Pros: Didn't get far enough to find any.

Cons: DOA. No indications of boot, and couldn't even get BIOS screen to load. No signal from onboard video or sound whatsoever after pressing power button, even with good power to the board (fans and peripherals running, power LEDs lit). This was with all known good components from a previous installation with a different make of motherboard. Resetting BIOS jumper didn't yield any results.

Other Thoughts: Owner's manual (which existed in digital version only) didn't have any troubleshooting recommendations whatsoever.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Motherboard

Pros: I have had this motherboard for around 4 months. It has run nice, and cool. Everything is good on my end.

I even had to punish a bit to get my after market CPU fan on.

Cons: Nothing besides the lack of over clock options. You can up your CPU a decent amount on this board, but not much.

Other Thoughts: Good board for the casual builder who is on a budget and looking for a good board for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsNo motherboard is perfect

Pros: On my second reinstall of windows for this computer it now runs super fast and I really can't complain except for this...

Cons: Who the heck puts an IDE connector at the BOTTOM of the motherboard!!! That is one thing about this board that I don't like because my IDE cable wasn't long enough to reach my secondary dvd-rom drive. I also had problems with the rear usb ports after installing the chipset software, they would not work. later I found out that you have to go in device manager and actually remove them and then restart, windows will then recognize them and they will work. By the way, avoid installing the Intel Audio Manager because it will lock up the computer if you have other programs running that it doesn't agree with.

Other Thoughts: If you notice when you power it up, the "intel logo" screen at the bottom right corner counts in hexadecimal, I wonder why?

2 out of 5 eggsDon't be decieved

Pros: No problems getting it up and running. Fits in an antec nsk2400 case wonderfully. (I really like the case)

Cons: The specs seem to show the it supports 8MB of DDR2800 memory. Not true; if you dig through Intel's website you will find that it support only 4GB of memory at 800mhz. 8GB is only if you use 667mhz/533mhz memory. See the following link.
http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gf/gf_available.htm

Also, installing the chipset drivers using XP x64 rendered the USB ports useless. The sound is bad on my board. I don't know if it is the hardware or the drivers, but it I have tried the latest drivers to no avail.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on upgrading in the future, look elsewhere. the GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R seems like it might have potential for not to much more.

5 out of 5 eggsCharming

Pros: works like a charm.

Cons: a little pricier than other mAtx boards out there.

Other Thoughts: although pricier, nothing has more quality.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little boad

Pros: Small form factor, on-board audio, lots of USB hook ups, fire wire, 4 memory slots. Good documentation and layout stickers for your case.

Cons: Need to have flopy disk drive in order to install Windows XP SP2. In the install you have to hit F6 and load the RAID drivers from the supplied disk, EVEN if you aren't raiding the drive.

Other Thoughts: Nice mother board, other than having to throw on a floppy drive for the install I have had no issues. Booted first try.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel BLKDQ965GFEKR OEM

Pros: Great m-ATX mobo, has lots of features and a great price tag. No heat issues in a tiny case with only one fan + power supply fan.

Cons: none in 2 months

Other Thoughts: Got this for my girlfriends parents, it has a C2D e6300 and 1 GB of WINTEC AMPX 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 and a ASUS 7300LE PCI-E video card, never used the on board video but im sure it would run XP fine, but I got the dedicated card for vista and works great runs aero fine.

5 out of 5 eggsbuilt new system

Pros: Great compact size ; DDR2-800 standard

Newegg RMA process is streamlined and excellent. Original shipping was on time and well packed

Cons: totally a fluke, but when i plugged in my microphone into onboard audio, the board fried and was unrecoverable. im assuming it was a random short and was a total fluke. cant hate on the board or intel for that.

Other Thoughts: with the 965 boards make sure you get compatible timed ram. check out intels site for a list of tested stuff. my board needed 5-5-5 ram

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent! Just Excellent!

Pros: I hadn't put together a computer for 10 years or so, and was amazed at how smoothly this went. Booted up first time w/ no problems. On the second boot I started the XP Pro install to two unformatted Raptor drives under RAID-0. Not a glitch! Kingston DDR2 800 RAM (the RAM specified by INTEL works flawlessly at 800mhz). It all went so smoothly I thought I had done something wrong until I saw my two drives show up in windows as a single volume. SWEEEEET!

Cons: The RAID driver installation confused me, INTEL's sequence in the instructions may be a little off, but it worked fine despite my confusion with no further input from me.

Other Thoughts: E6400 Conrad CPU w/stock cooler, 2 gigs of Kingston ValueRam DDR2 800, Cooler Master RS-500-ASAA (which, by the way has 6 SATA connectors - not 2 as it says in the description here). I installed the included utilities and ran the cool "Stress Test." Everything was great! CPU running at 39C - 40C during the height of the Stress Test and at idle. voltages nice and steady. You oughta see how fast my work runs! Massive (for Access) databases. Indexing, queries, everything on multi million record multi field data just flies! I got a warning from Access that the process I was about to run might take a "long time. Continue anyway?" Pressed the button and ... it was over! Where's the "long time?"
