5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: excellent board. i've had the same one for 3 years and running. tampered with OC'ing in the beginning, but left it at stock since.

Cons: the NB fan is a given, yea it will be loud and obnoxious after some time, but go to abit's part store on their main site and the part is free, you just pay ~$xx S&H to get a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good motherboard

Pros: Well, this motherboard lasted me a few years, back when it was almost brand new I had my "Phat" 2.4 ghz p4, and this mobo overlocked them like beauties, as far as 3.8 Ghz. Had no driver issues with SATA/IDE HD's, dvd writers, dual channel ram, etc.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Storm came threw and ended its years, sadly enough, was about time for an upgrade anyways.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: overclocks well. all the features i need are on-board. this was my first build and this board gives me plenty of opportunity for upgrade.

Cons: you guessed it the north bridge fan crapped out.

Other Thoughts: looking for a replacement fan.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Great board, I have a 2.8C running at 3.5GHZ, 250FSB with PC4000 ram running in sync completely stable. One of the most stable systems I've ever had, only time it really crashes is when my video card overheats. (Ran for 6 months with out restart which includes putting system into standby mode).

Cons: Northbridge fan can and likely will fail, becomes very loud and noisy, either get abit to send you another one (should be free) or get another one when it fails, thats about it.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent mainboard

Pros: probably the best socket 478 board with the canterwood(875pe, ich5r)chipset ever. I've been using this board for almost a year now without any problems whatsoever.Great gaming board with my evga geforce 6800(16x6) .This is the top dog of socket 478 land. Get this board, you wont be dissapointed, and as far as service from new egg. They are top notch. cudos to abit and newegg!

Cons: none, xcellent board.

Other Thoughts: long live abit and newegg. we will meet again when conroe/merom hit the scene.

3 out of 5 eggsGood board, bad fan

Pros: Decent price, many features, all you could need on board pretty much.

Cons: Cheap chipset fan that is virtually irreplaceable. Mine died after a year and I probably have to get a new board as a result. So, I'd try to find something with a more standard / more durable fan. Other than that no problems.

Comments: Had this board for 2 years, went to put in a second pair of memory sticks and found a broken pin in the DIMM slot. Never knew it was bad until now.

No problems besides that nasty north bridge fan.

5 out of 5 eggsmust for OC with the 478 socket

Comments: I have been running this board for a long time. This was the first PC I experimented with overclocking. Even when I was a complete noob to OC, it took me about 2 HR to get my 3.0 P4 overclocked to a 3.6. Keep in mind that most of that 2 hours was spent researching about overclocking. Im sure I can overclock it more but right now I need better ram. I have heard some people say they were able to OC a 3.0ghz to 4.0 with this board.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Comments: In one word: solid. The board is very stable and very reliable. The BIOS is pleasing and easy to use, and Abit has a forum on their site for very helpful tech support. Yes, the north bridge fan (one of the fans below the CPU) makes a loud buzzing noise after the first few weeks but there's a forum on how to fix it (also very easy to replace). One thing I'd like to mention is this board does NOT support Registered Ram-only unbuffered. NO registered ram. Dont go and waste some money =) I'm very pleased with the motherboard.

Comments: I've had this MOBO for a long time now, and I haven't had any problems with it, except that the northbridge fan is about to go out, and it makes a terrible noise!
