Had it for 5 months now
- Pros: Fantastic looking , Guru panel is a beautiful + to the overall exeperience , LED's are amaizing , sound card is great
- Cons: Onboard Nvidia Lan
- Other Thoughts: OK, this is the first time I'm writing a review for on newegg and I feel you have to own a product for at least 6 months in order to be able to review it .
I have this mobo setup with a Thermalrock circle case ,WD Raptor HD , 3800 dual core Athlon and a 7800 PCI GC . Inbetween the Led's of the Thermalrock Circle case - the right hand window on that case mobo & the Fatal1ty's Led my comp looks incredible - Anyways I'm a hard core gamer and up until now the thing fly's . Problem is that lately I have tried to install an additional LAN card because I use 2 ISP , thats in order to switch inbetween the ISP's . As soon as I put one in I realised the onboard Nvidia LAN was overiding the signal newly installed LAN . When I tried to disable it I found out that I couldnt because it wasn't "plug & play" .That's when the blue screens of death started . And they only stopped after I disabled the onboard LAN in the BIOS. Conclusion : the integrated onboard lan causes conflicts !
Expected more
- Pros: Great looking mobo with many many features. Everything you need comes in box (plenty of cables and such)
- Cons: Mobo had been rotated 180* in the retail box... was in the wrong position for the windows in the box front. Seemed fishey. Random boot to desktop on fullscreen games. Cant prove it to be mobo, but the only non-new component in box is high end C*****R X*S Memory.
- Other Thoughts: Cant shake the feeling I was sent a used/RMA/demo model when I paid for a new one.
ONE OF THE BEST!
- Pros: Quoted from Tom's Hardware: "At the end of day, two motherboards receive our recommendation: both the Abit Fatal1ty AN8 and MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Edition offer well-appointed and flexible boards based on top-grade components. These units shine above all through their range of functions and overclocking abilities - the wealth of experience of both manufacturers in the enthusiast market is obvious."
The Link provides a professional review of the motherboard.
- Cons: I have no cons so far, this motherboard is great!
- Other Thoughts: With every component for a gamer, and nothing extra, this motherboard will do what it is designed to do, perform at the highest abilities.
