5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: It comes with LOTS of SATA cables, and lots of SATA ports.

Cons: I just installed Windows 7, and it is reporting 18GB of ram, says 3GB is usable. This is impossible, I only have 3GB of RAM installed (2x1GB, 2x512MB) and the motherboard doesn't even support 18GB of RAM. CPU-ID reports the correct amount of RAM.

The OS seems stable despite reporting 18GB ram, one issue though, when resuming from sleep, the computer locks up after entering the login/password.

Other Thoughts: I've had this for a long time. This is the motherboard that made me choose to go with Gigabyte again for my next motherboard purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsSomeone help!

Comments: could someone here post what options in the bios you use to overclock this thing. I have a AMd64 3000+ and I know it will go as high as a 3500+ but can't figure out how to overclock with this board.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for raid5

Comments: Just bought this board and have managed to set up Windows XP pro installed on a mirrored (raid1) ide disk set using the built in nvidia raid controller. I also have a 4 sata disk raid 5 array set up for data using the onboard Silicon Image Sil3114 raid controller. Works great so far - 1 week.

There's a how to on how to do this at:

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Board

Comments: This was the easiest installation I've ever done. THe CPU snapped in perfectly. Furthermore, the design of the motherboard allows for a lot of air space around the CPU. Its very quiet. Sweetness , sweeetness.

5 out of 5 eggsnice

Comments: I got this yesterday. This thing comes with more SATA cables than what a normal person would use in a lifetime, wow, in red and orange colors. They look slightly different and the orange cable doesn't fit the oldest model Western Digital Raptor hard drive, but fits the newer model, the red SATA cable fits both the new and the old WD Raptor.

It also comes with funky ribbon IDE and funky ribbon floppy cable. Nothing spectacular there, but nice of them to include these.

It doesn't come with floppy for raid drivers, so if you want to make a raid, you need a second computer with a floppy drive and a blank disk handy.

The drivers install in a single click from the CD, I liked that a lot. Everything works like a charm for me.

(athlon 3700+ 939, 2x74GB raptor, 7800GT)

Comments: Had a very hard time getting it to register my SATA HD. Once I got the SATA drivers of the web though it worked great.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: ahhah the yellow connectors will work in non-raid environments n00b!! you have to disable that function in the bios.and the sataII hookups are there, i own the board, possibly the picture is misleading to you. make sure to turn off raid in bios before trying to initialize any drives if you aren't using it. solid board and value.
