5 out of 5 eggsit just works - cheap

Pros: Quite Linux-friendly, which my prev board was not. Has no problem with generic DIMMs. Installed easily. That's all I ask for in a mobo. Had it four months w/ no problems.

Cons: I'd have liked built-in graphics.

3 out of 5 eggsAn OK board

Pros: I'm running my second one of these, it's ok, does a fair job but it's suprising how much better the Epox 8HDAI Pro 754 posts/boots/runs. No real reason to get this except for a replacement, I guess. 939 is way affordable now.

Cons: No major ones, minor inherent funkiness.

Other Thoughts: Kinda wish I'd gotten 939 so I could go dual core/PCI Express. This board has been reliable for me so far, that's about it; the driver CD was funky and I didn't use it. Sort of a boring ho-hum board.

2 out of 5 eggsI just want one that works

Pros: The first one worked for a year than just would not post one day.

Cons: Sent for a replacement it arrived DOA.

Other Thoughts: I wish they would test these things before they sell them.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Cheap board that does pretty much anything I throw at it, without question. It survived Windows 98, ME, and now XP. BF2 works flawlessly, I don't know why people are having a problem with it.

Would buy again if I was gonna go for 754 again, wanna step up to 939 or AM2.

Cons: When overclocking, if you increase the FSB, the AGP/PCI bus clock increases and so does the memory clock, not really a prob for me but might be for others. The manual states that "Because of CPU limitations, if you want to install DDR400 memory modules in your system, please install either one double-sided or two single-sided DDR400 memory modules. The DDR400 speed will drop down to DDR333 if you install two double-sided or three single-sided DDR400 memory modules."

Other Thoughts: Currently running: Giagabyte GA-K8U, AMD Sempron 3100+ OC'ed to 2.0Ghz, 512MB Kingston DDR400, ASUS GeForce FX 5200 AGP 8x, Western Digital WD400BB 40GB ATA100 HD (Havn't tried SATA yet...) all running off of a 500 Watt power supply.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Don't know

Cons: It never correctly operated with my hard drive, and I couldn't get it running. It recognized the hard drive, but it wouldn't read from it correctly. The same thing happened with two back up hard drives I had.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid and Reliable

Pros: Good board for a budjet workstation, runs cheap DDR perfect. Slow POST, kinda slow OS load, but runs the apps really well. Got 2 of these going now, both solid.

Cons: None really except what everyone knows: the Driver CD is kinda lame but it's always a good idea to load latest BIOS/Driver downloads anyway.

Other Thoughts: This is a decidedly behind the curve board that does the job reasonably well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: Excellent MOBO. It Has room for 3 sticks of ram, which is not as good as 4 but better than 2. This mobo has one of the best audio chipsets that i have ever used/listend to.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I like that the AGP slot has a pull out pin rather than a screw.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not great

Pros: Cheap, lots of ports, smaller than my two-year old Asus, did i mention cheap?

Cons: Plastic back plate, cheap plastic hook for AGP slot. Mobo does NOT like my Radeon 9550 video card and resets when I am doing nothing special on the computer.

Other Thoughts: Mobo is very cheap and works better than my old Asus board, but it still acts up too much for my liking.
