4 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain!

Pros: The nForce4 is an outstanding chipset! Gigabyte is a name I trust. Good overall arrangement and available slots. Comes with everything you could need. Great performance! The Award BIOS is very tweakable. Easy-to-use flash utility allows updating to the latest BIOS version from within Windows.

Cons: Overclocking works about half of the time; the other half, it says "skipping CPU overclock" during POST. Primary IDE controller seems to have a loose connection; before I switched to SATA HDs, I would sometimes have to shutdown, open the case, and press the connection in again to make my HDs appear.

Other Thoughts: The "skipping overclock" is easy to fix; just reboot and it will do the overclock. Overall I recommend this motherboard for anyone shopping in its price range. I use this with Athlon64 3000+, 1GB DDR400, and GeForce 7800 GT.

5 out of 5 eggs7 Months And Still Strong

Pros: good layout, comes with everything u will need, raid, sli, ocable bios, alot of fan slots, stability, etc overall a best buy for the money

Cons: the sli slots are tooo close to each other, im gonna get sli with my 7600gs and i have a vf700 and im worried that it will bump into the second cards backplate, im plannin to get a vf900 or a better card soon so i hope that helps, and the northbridge gets alittle hot, there should be a do not touch sign on it, the ddr slots are too close to each other and dual channel works way to close to each other, im getting crucial ballistix tracers soon so i hope they fit and i dont have to go single channel,

Other Thoughts: this board rocks, i thought it sucked after i couldnt get my 3700+ oc'd and i did my reaserch and i got my 3700+ @ 3.1ghz 24/7 orthos stable, so thats a plus, im keeping this board for a while ;) , i love this board and for the price its at right now its awsome, the pro is a little better but the dual bios aint needed if u know wat ur doing, or the firewire thingy, so go for this board for a overall good ocing, and stability with alot of futures

my setup: Amd athlon 64 3800x2 @ 2.8ghz/ac 64 pro, 2x512mb crucial tracers @ ddr600, 2x160gb/16mb cache raid 0, geforce 7600gs 600/1100 pelit volt mod, sb live!, 450W raidmax psu,nec & sony dvd buner drives, etc

THIS BOARD ROCKS

5 out of 5 eggsGreat all round

Pros: I love it I upgraded from limping 1.4 ghz sempron on an nforce1 chipset from Gigabyte(that, by the way ran rock solid all the way through and is awaiting a customer for a cheap descent gaming chipset)
Setup ran smooth and no errors or misses so far

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsup and running in 1 hour

Pros: setup this mobo with my athlon 64 3700. Setup and installation was a cinch. Had this board up and running in an hour. Clear diagrams in manual. SLI and fx compatible. Great price.

Cons: Instructions may be assuming too much.

Other Thoughts: 3 day shipping. All parts arrived in 2 days. Newegg is again exceeding my expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsh311 Y34h

Pros: Excelent and easy to use sata config, sli, g-byte.

Cons: I have yet to find anything wrong with this.

Other Thoughts: I do not own this board but I picked it out for a friends build, when talking to him before it I said sometimes motherboards can be a b**** to configure but this one was great, he loves his rig :)

5 out of 5 eggsVirtual Heaven ...

Pros: This has to be one of the best budget Mobo i have had the pleasure to work with. Everything worked right out of the box flawlessy. SLI and the RAID were very easy to setup.

Cons: The instructions and manuals aren't very clear and i found many Typos. After many years of building PC's i've come to expect that from Giga-Byte :)

Other Thoughts: I have always had good luck with Giga-byte MOBO this is my 6th Board. As always make sure the components that you are attempting to use is indeed compatible. Especially the RAM !!!

5 out of 5 eggsI THINK I FIXED THE OC PROBLEM

Pros: good board for ocing and inexpensive price

Cons: none to date

Other Thoughts: WELL AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT OCING WITH THIS THING IS IN POSSIBLE SO I WENT TO ASK GIGABYTE FOR SUPPORT AND ALL THE ASKED IS MY HARDWARE AND DESIRED SPEED AND THEY GAVE ME WAT TO PUT IN THE M.I.T FEATURE ON THE BOARDS BIOS
HERE IS WAT U SHOULD PUT IF U PLAN TO OC WITH THIS BABY

HT Frequency ratio at 2x
CPU Frequency at 245
K8 CPU Clock Ratio at X10
CPU/DDR clock Ratio at [2x166]
Hammer Vid Control at 1.450 volts
CPU Voltage Control at 1.450
Chipset core PCI-E Voltage at +0.3v
HT Link voltage control at +0.3v
DDR Voltage Control at +0.2

Make sure the HT multi and the HTT frequency don't multiply to over 1000Mhz.

Then set the PCIe frequency to 101Mhz.

Make sure those "Robust Graphics Accelerator" things are set to Auto. Set all the memory to manual, but you don't need to change them, it just prevents the motherboard from auto-adjusting those.

2 out of 5 eggsStay away from Gigabyte

Pros: Looks good on paper.

Cons: I've built approx. a dozen systems so far, from basic desktop to high-end gaming systems, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a mobo to date. I had problems with the board from day one, with 'beep codes' at boot and system freezing at random. I found the manual and support CD to be virtually worthless, and Gigabyte 'Tech Support' was even worse. Not only were they slow to reply, but 6 separate e-mails later and my problems were never resolved. For the most part, the Tech Support staff appears to have very limited product knowledge---let alone computer knowledge--and would rather reply to questions with the same vague, worthless info from the manual. I finally ditched this board after only 2 months (still not working right) and went back to Asus.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. In this case a cheap motherboard with inept tech support. You're better off spending a few bucks more for a product with proven results and solid support.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Easy install, instruction booklet was reasonably understandable, everything on board was labeled fairly well (unlike other companies where I feel as though im guessing and checking), SLI nice option to have, dont think I have seen a blue board before, blue is a nice color.

Cons: Had an issue installing sata drive, not sure if this was the board or OS but it was resolved none the less (not really a big deal at all)

Other Thoughts: No problems so far, have been using SLI without any issues. Aside from the sata problem have been very happy with it. Even put a big scratch in it on accident with a screw driver and didnt cause a problem. yay.
