Great bargain!
- Pros: The nForce4 is an outstanding chipset! Gigabyte is a name I trust. Good overall arrangement and available slots. Comes with everything you could need. Great performance! The Award BIOS is very tweakable. Easy-to-use flash utility allows updating to the latest BIOS version from within Windows.
- Cons: Overclocking works about half of the time; the other half, it says "skipping CPU overclock" during POST. Primary IDE controller seems to have a loose connection; before I switched to SATA HDs, I would sometimes have to shutdown, open the case, and press the connection in again to make my HDs appear.
- Other Thoughts: The "skipping overclock" is easy to fix; just reboot and it will do the overclock. Overall I recommend this motherboard for anyone shopping in its price range. I use this with Athlon64 3000+, 1GB DDR400, and GeForce 7800 GT.
7 Months And Still Strong
- Pros: good layout, comes with everything u will need, raid,sli,ocable bios,alot of fan slots, stability, etc overall a best buy for the money
- Cons: the sli slots are tooo close to each other, im gonna get sli with my 7600gs and i have a vf700 and im worried that it will bump into the second cards backplate, im plannin to get a vf900 or a better card soon so i hope that helps, and the northbridge gets alittle hot, there should be a do not touch sign on it, the ddr slots are too close to each other and dual channel works way to close to each other, im getting crucial ballistix tracers soon so i hope they fit and i dont have to go single channel,
- Other Thoughts: this board rocks, i thought it sucked after i couldnt get my 3700+ oc'd and i did my reaserch and i got my 3700+ @ 3.1ghz 24/7 orthos stable, so thats a plus, im keeping this board for a while ;) , i love this board and for the price its at right now its awsome, the pro is a little better but the dual bios aint needed if u know wat ur doing, or the firewire thingy, so go for this board for a overall good ocing, and stability with alot of futures
