5 out of 5 eggsNew Main Board

Pros: The board dropped in and was up at a high level of performance immediately. Set up is straight forward and many options exist for tuning.

Cons: None found

Other Thoughts: I would buy another without giving it a second thought

3 out of 5 eggsProbably Okay

Pros: It's a Gigabyte, so it should work well.

Cons: The AGP slot wouldn't recognize any of the video cards I put into it.

Other Thoughts: I tried calling customer service but they couldn't help me since I don't have a PC speaker. I got a different board and it recognized everything just fine. Bummer, I liked my previous Gigabyte board.

2 out of 5 eggsSound Problems

Pros: The board worked fine as far as performance

Cons: One of the sound ports is not working on the board. Instead of returning it, I went back to my soundblaster card.

5 out of 5 eggsvery good

Pros: cheap, supports Opteron, good performance

Cons: none as of now

Other Thoughts: Very good motherboard, one of the few i could find that supports the Opteron, didnt identify the CPU at first but a BIOS update fixed it all. Its even a good overclocker, i have my Opty 144 at 2GHz, i can go higher as soon as i get my new RAM and a better HSF

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for the price

Pros: Great socket 939 MB for the price! With AMD processors so inexpensive now, you can put together a great system.

Cons: ALi chipset is probably not the best. No Vista drivers for the SATA/Raid controller yet. Not sure if they will write any. You can buy a PCI SATA controller though.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to install AMD 4600 X2, thought MB was dead; but these new MB's, you have to plug-in a square power connector next to the CPU also, or it won't boot. From old school, didn't read menu.

Cons: None so far, just calling Microsoft, everytime you upgrade something major.

Other Thoughts: I almost bought a new MB. thinking it was dead. Gigabyte, should make sure, oldtimers know about the extra square socket, on the MB.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Had no problem installing X2 4600 CPU. Easiest CPU to install in a long time.

Cons: I got the last one, newegg was out of stock, after order.(bad omen). MB would not boot with any of my memory, or changing mem slot. Last GB MB, I'll ever buy. Too bad I can't exchange brands, I would. Also, power plug
too close to heat sink, very little space.

Other Thoughts: I think the north bridge is defective.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none

Cons: Crashed because of the onboard NIC or any other PCI NIC under many configurations. Highly recommend avoiding this product.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, Installation can be annoying.

Pros: Socket 939, while being AGP8x. PC3200 ram capability.

Cons: Installation can be tricky. At first, with everything plugged in, my LCD monitor got a signal but no picture. I thought the board was dead, but I replaced the power supply and it started up, nicely detecting all my RAM, processor, ect.

Other Thoughts: I bought this, as an upgrade to my old Triton K7 mobo, an ancient Socket A. Also, because it's AGP8X, allows me to not have wasted 280 dollars on a Evga 7800GS CO. If you have an expensive Video card and don't want to hop to PciE but still use latest processors, buy it.
