5 out of 5 eggsGreat, easy to setup!

Pros: Easy to setup. Bios allows easy dual boot since I am currently running Vista RC1 and XP. Easy RAID setup. I have it running 1xRAID 1 for XP OS, 1xRAID 1 for Data Backup (5+ years of digital pictures cannot afford to lose), and a standalone drive now running Vista RC1.

Easy F12 to get to boot options which allows me to boot into Vista or XP.

Would recommend this board!

Cons: none at the current time. time will tell though!!

1 out of 5 eggs2 Bad boards in a row

Pros: Very nice Board, when i did run it was great, i raid loading in kinda annoying. Im not sure about the company who makes this board.

Cons: no tech support, that was exspected. First board had a corrupted bios, gave me some computer babble bs. secound board ran all day but would not load window xp pro, not at all i tryed for 2 days to get it to run. Then it crashed and gave me the stangest symbol in the upper left corner...it was a blue box smiley with red eyes and smile. it kept frowning and smiling....i have no idea what it is nore does anyone who i have asked, i could not even find it in forums...very strange.

Other Thoughts: I wish it would have wooked on my system, i like the board. Both board were just a huge pain.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid little board, lots of room for upgrades.

Cons: When I was installing XP it blue screen'd on me. What had happened was that I installed the CDRom on the "RAID" IDE (port 2). When the Windows installer booted it realized that it didn't have the driver for the "RAID" port and told me (in its generic way) that it could not see the CDRom drive. I don't fault Gigabyte for this.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you know what you are changing in the BIOS, or at least read through the booklet. If you run into the same problem I had, copy the files from the "\Other\ITE_RAID\DRIVERS" folder on the included CD to a floppy. Do not, however, copy nt.rtf, or any folder inside "DRIVERS" with the exception of "WIN2K_XP". Oh one other thing; you'll have to rename "WIN2k_XP" to "WINXP". <END STREAMOFCONSCIOUSNESS>

4 out of 5 eggsdecent

Pros: Good for price, compaitble with my stuff. looks good. good manuel

Cons: a few problems, taks my memory down from 533 to 400,it explains why in manuel but i dont get it. not the best for overlocking see my other thoughts for why. Had to insert disk to download drives so that interent would work.

Other Thoughts: Dont even install that easy tune 5 program that comes on the disk. o my good, it gives you so many errors at start up. I turned on a bunch of the enchmants stuff, rebooted and comp wouldnt work. had to take out battery to clear cmos, it was fine after that. And turn of the smart fan thing its junk

1 out of 5 eggsNo good

Pros: Looks pretty fancy.

Cons: Didn't come with screws and neither did my case. USB was completely defective. RAID was clunky and slot and didn't want to understand my optical drive.

Other Thoughts: I think I just got a bad one. But yay for Newegg and UPS. I ordered this on Monday and got it on Wednesday

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Board

Pros: This was my first build. This board was a piece of cake to set up. I have had this board for going on two months and everything works-->absolutely zero problems. All my hardware was recognized right off and my Pentium-D 805 runs at 37-39 degrees, but then again I havent't overclocked (right now I'm runnig at 36 degrees). Bios is straight forward and I have had no problems.

Cons: I'm trying real hard to think of any. Nope can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: This board is so easy to set up even a computer illiterate like myself can do it. Did I mention that I have had no problems with this board. Also, I know you've heard it a million times, and at the risk of sounding redundant, NewEgg rocks. If I owned a company I would run it like NewEgg. What a class outfit! As the Suiox would say Hoka Hey.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast mobo, easy to setup, bios is very easy to setup and tweak, Onboard sound is better than a sb Live card, board leaves plenty of room for bigger cpu coolers, did I mention the mobo looks cool and colorful?

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: Software included (face wizard) allows you to change the bios wallpaper to any 640x480 256 color bmp file.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Gigabyte Tech Support

Pros: Board has a lot of features, easy BIOS flashing utility

Cons: Cannot read my optical drives on IDE1 (red). I tried two different drives and didn't read either of them. Only was able to read an ancient CD drive I had laying around. During XP setup it would Blue Screen EVERY time. Gigabyte tech support is TERRIBLE. I posted questions and their answers would ask me if i tried something which i blatently stated I did in my question.

Other Thoughts: Im upset that I see other people have had no problem with their setups. Of my 5 or so setups, I have never had this much trouble. Im going to RMA this baby back because gigabyte can't give me a solution. Probably a nice board if you get a working one.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth Installation

Pros: Setting up this board is pure clockwork. Everything is pretty much "plug and go". It took my PD 930 on the fly with no need to flash the bios. The only way setting up this board could have been any easier is if it assembled itself...

Cons: Was not packaged with Swedish supermodel...

Other Thoughts: No one beats Newegg's shipping department. I placed my order on a Thursday morning with the standard shipping and had it by noon the next day.
