2 out of 5 eggsBad Batch???

Pros: Price, RAID, Processor support

Cons: have ran into 4 DOA, I have certified RAM, Dual Core processor, that I know works but never boots, or even POSTs.

Other Thoughts: I've bought this mobo in the past, I have 4 that work fine, but the newer one's I've bought seem to be DOA. I dont know anymore about MSI I've wasted alot of time trying to get one that works. Going with ASUS now.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Works well, Comes with loads of stuff. 4 SATA Cables.

Cons: HUGE. This MOBO is very large. Only 2 PCI slots. Dont really need more.

Other Thoughts: Pretty good for the price. Very solid.

2 out of 5 eggsTroubles

Pros: When it works, it is fast and it can scream if it is happy... my neighbor next door has one too and his is awesome.

Cons: Fried my brand new power supply on first power up. Second new power supply works fine, but there is no 5V power on the board, the fan indicators don't work, the built in sound mixer doesn't work either and now the bios won't recognize a usb keyboard. Every few months, something non essential seems to break.

Other Thoughts: Homebrew system with 6300 C2Duo overclocked from 1.83 to 2.1, msi X1600 ATI video. Ballistix CAS 2 2GB 667 MHz ram. Decent system, but somewhat hobbling along.

1 out of 5 eggsGO Asus or Giga

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Everything about the board, the bios were flaky, the MSI support doesn't exist, always got a critial failure error when adjusting the settings for ram to recognize 800mhz from the default 677.

Other Thoughts: Seriously look into the P35 boards or the x38's when they come out mid/late sept

3 out of 5 eggsnot having good luck with this

Pros: When it works, it works beautifully.

Cons: Fist mobo died after 6 months (was not OC'd or modified in any way). Had to buy new one since past the 30 day replacement period. New one arrived DOA. Gonna have to RMA it and hope the 3rd one works.

Other Thoughts: If the 3rd one comes in DOA I definitely will not be replacing it with same product. Husband has this same mobo for 9 months now and has had no problems so far.

2 out of 5 eggsSkip this Mobo seriously

Pros: At the time was a cheaper alternative

Cons: junky BIOs, junk OC capability and unstable OC's on RAM had to tweak with alot of Bio's to get things to work without Errors and random restarts. Now its calmed down but basically because I hate being on the machine.

Other Thoughts: I went on a tomshardware review of the current 975 boards and this one was the higher rated board...at the time neither 975s were great but wish i would have went Asus or Gigabyte. I am currently looking at a P35 board which is the way to go.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for me

Pros: Easy setup, nice extras.

Cons: This was my secong MSI MB and the second time I had problems. Would freeze on re-starts when men went to boot. Found I did not have approved mem so I got one MSI has on their approved list. Still the same problem.

Other Thoughts: Replaced wiht an Asus P5KC and what a differnace. No probmes at all. I should have gotten the Asus to begin with.

4 out of 5 eggshad keyboard problems.

Pros: works well.
plenty of space for everything, nice heat spreaders, looks cool in black.

Cons: had problems with usb ports not working. problem solved, but im still not shure how. also, i couldnt fit a blue orb onto the cpu, because of the heat spreader. bummer.

Other Thoughts: nice board, (newegg sent me the platinum even though i only ordered regular, but im not complaining.
overall solid board, but im positive that you could find a better board for a little bit more.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Decent board layout, overclocks really well (OC'd my Pentium D930 from 3.0 ghz to 4.06 ghz), has 2 PATA ports (although only 1 HD can be plugged into port 2), plenty of bios tweaking options, installed XP 64 and Vista 64 with no problems or need to download drivers. Great cooling for the NB and SB via heatpipe.

Cons: I wish the CPU power was placed a little lower on the board because I had to get an extender because my case has the PSU on the bottom. Had to update the BIOS in order for my MS Keyboard to be usable in DOS (needed for selecting multi-boot OS's and DOS bios updating).

Other Thoughts: Overall, excellent board. Installed easily, works great, OC's like crazy w/ CPU voltage, mem voltage, and PCI-E voltage controls.
