2 out of 5 eggsBad one

Comments: Well I was expecting alot from the board..I love msi products. I have them in all of my pc's. This one would crash during game play using 6800gt. Then no post completely dead. Replaced with FOX**** works great. I couldn't wait for RMA, client needed it now. Too bad.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Bought this as a backup board while my K8NF-9 was sent to Gigabyte for repair. Been happy but it didnt like my MSI GF 6800 PCI-express video card. would lock up during games quite often. taking off the video card and using onboard seems more stable but still get lockups once or twice a week during heavy gaming. Would be a good board for a spare or for a Server board. Just bought a AMD64 3000 Venice core to put on it once my other one gets back and will make it a server.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Features for the price

Comments: I used this board as the foundation for my wife's computer when she burned out her old board. We both work for the same software company and our company builds PC's to use our software. Our hardware department uses MSI boards with Athlon64's exclusively now. This particular MSI board is terrific. The price is nice and it's feature rich. The onboard ATI graphics is more than adequate for the average user and it even does a good job with 3D games like WoW and Sims2. It's compact and I had to be very careful getting the CPU heatsink installed. This is not the board to get if you're planning on installing a crazy-big third party CPU cooler, it's just too tight. No issues booting or with the BIOs or anything, although on occassion during reboots (say 1 out of 10) the system hangs on the onboard video splashscreen. It gets as far as the USB bus and that's it. Hitting the reset switch brings it up every time though. Other than that one glitch we've run ours rock-solid for two months.

5 out of 5 eggsgood board - small drawbacks

Comments: Extretmely nice micro-atx mobo. The few feature which are drawbacks are the fact that there is no speaker jumper, the power LED only has space for 2 pins making it difficult to use with a case which has 3 and the cpu mounting bracket is stuck on with adhesive making it impossible to use certain hs/f which contain their own brackets. Other than that, it's an awesome board!

2 out of 5 eggsManufacturing defects were a hassle!

Comments: I was one of the unfortunate ones to receive a defective motherboard that had the incorrect chipset installed on it. This caused me nothing but problems with frequent rebooting problems, HDD recognition, and general instability. I bought this board for the overclocking features it touted and for the fact that it had 4 DIMM clots and plenty of USB expansion slots.

I spent alot of time upgrading theBIOS and researching what may be casuing the problems, only to find that there was a shipment of these boards which had the wrong chipset in place on the board. I should have returned the board immediately, as when it was shipped to me the heatsink on the ATI chipset was half-glued on and the onboard video never worked.

Overall I would say avoid this board at all costs for the simple fact that there is a chance you could receive one of these boards as well.

5 out of 5 eggsNice But a Zalman Coooler requires a mod

Comments: Nice little board with great features. I got one for my son. He wanted to put a Zalman CPU cooler on it. Discovered there is a chip right in the way where one of the Zalman posts fasten to the backing plate. He chose to grind down the Zalman post to a smaller diameter and was able to get it to clear the chip.

5 out of 5 eggsThe almighty MATX Muahahhahahahaa!

Comments: This board was great for fitting all of my needs. It maxed out at 4 GB of DDR400, takes the 949, has plenty of expansion for gaming (sound, wireless, & misc) + the pcix. Sata 150, excelent BIOS, its a broken record--if you are for LAN gaming, and you want easy transportation the aspire case and this are the way to go. (aspire case in link provided)
