2 out of 5 eggsDead After 30 Days!!!

Pros: Great features

Cons: Died after 1 month - booted with error. Went into setup, select Optimal settings and would not re-post. ? ? what's up with that.

Other Thoughts: Never had a problem like this before with a board.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a motherboard.

Pros: It has sockets for a cpu and memory, and slots for pci and agp cards.

Cons: All that high performance jazz in the BIOS for overclocking gets in the way. The only way I could get my memory to run at it's proper speed (400) was to allow the motherboard to automatically overclock itself, otherwise it would only let me set it to half it's speed.

Other Thoughts: Tools are nice. But there comes a point where "more tools" becomes a hassle because instead of helping you, they get in your way.

The BIOS has too many tools.

1 out of 5 eggsA Bundel of headachs

Pros: Raid with serial and paraell

Cons: everything else.Burned up 1st coler master 430 had to buy Thermaltake 460!Still can't get it to set CPU fsb to 200 only 166 even tho it is a 3200 400fsb cpu. After many tries got to run paraell raid with serial 200 gig segate backup.Took about 3 weeks to finally get to work but still keeping fingers crosed!

Other Thoughts: I have used other MSI boards but will now go back to Abit! They always rock solid

1 out of 5 eggssave your time and money

Pros: may have had some if they worked. hopefully save some of you from buying this board after my experiences.

Cons: msi needs much better quality control. Completely unacceptable problems with two boards in a row. I've used quite a few other brand nforce2 boards w/o any issues.

Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd k7n2 in a row that has had defects. The onboard nic died within a day. To save myself the trouble and expense of another return, just plugged in a pci nic. A month later, my keyboard stops working! Tried several other keyboards, winXP and knoppix, all attempts failed. I’ve built hundreds of computers for a local shop, dozens for myself, friends, and family. NEVER had issues with any other board like this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: I have had this board for oer a year. I used it in my second PC build with a AthlonXP 2400+ (Reused from the last comp) and a 512M stick of Crucial Ballistix. I fell like I am not even utilizing this board. Downloadable utilities from MSI make the board wotrh so much more. This has been a stable, relable board and I have run my comp pretty much 24/7 since install.

Cons: Too fast for my processor.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking at another board dont! This one is rock solid and fast. I just bought a new computer and my new mobo and videocard are MSI. Thats how happy I am with this board!

5 out of 5 eggsThis borad is 1337

Pros: Great Features
Nforce 2
Cheap
Great Overclocking Abilities

Cons: Havent found any yet

Other Thoughts: Purchase this for my low end gaming computer (mostly for guild wars). Over clocked my 2500+ so that the computer recognizes it as a 3200+. Overclocked my fx5200 to 325 core, 500 memory. Great overclocking abilities. Worked great for me. Ordered in the morning before i went to school, recieved next day.

3 out of 5 eggsGood features. Questionable quality

Pros: The motherboard is fully featured. You won't find many other Nforce2 motherboards with SATA controllers.

Cons: I bought this motherboard to replace an earlier K7N2 model that died after a few years of service. The MB that arrived from NewEgg had some problems (i.e. the northbridge fan was reporting that it was spinning back and forth between 0-50,000RPM). Because NewEgg doesn't cross ship, I ended up having to pay for 3X shipping (2 to me and 1 for the return) which made this an expensive purchase. The replacement motherboard seems to be holding up.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need SATA, get an ASUS.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't know yet

Pros: Don't know yet. First board did not work and fried my athlon xp 1800. Not NewEgg's fault.

Cons: Don't know yet. First board did not work and fried my athlon xp 1800. Not NewEgg's fault.

Other Thoughts: Anyone got a cheap processor for this board? I don't want to buy a processor, only to have it fry too.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work for me

Pros: Excellent feature set for the price, which would have been good if the board worked.

Cons: My board managed to POST, but that's about it - it would not load Windows setup no matter what. Tried swapping out different CPUs, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, RAM, even tried different IDE cables. Nothing worked; the board would make it through POST, and then hang when loading Windows Setup. Never managed to actually install Windows with this board - it just wouldn't let me!

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, this is the kind of flaky quality I've seen when I tried other MSI products in the past. I think this will be my last MSI purchase.

Definitely won't be my last purchase with Newegg, of course. They were fast as usual with shipping, and even fast on the RMA.

4 out of 5 eggsmy 3rd board

Pros: Finaly, after 2 defective boards I get one that work. The first one was POST possesed. The second one was DOA with a blown IC south of the BIOS chip blown out in about 15 sec after power up.Nice perfume by the way. The same happened to the first MOBO.To my amusement, the third board is, to this day, in its best behavior. I would have tried another brand but I just like MSI MOBOs and this one is the only socket A available from MSI. Soon there will be no more.
RAID very easy to setup.

Cons: BIOS can't detect NB fan RPM.

Other Thoughts: Thank you New Egg. Despite all these problems, I had no PROBLEMS getting a replacement and in a timely fashion. New Egg's reputation for delivering customer satisfaction is number one. That is why I shop at New Egg.
