Very stable and easy to install

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Very well designed for dual CPU's. Comes with 2 mirrored CPU coolers that are way to install. RAID is actual hardware RAID and can tie in to the IDE drives as well. Can be over clocked easy. Lots of extras. SLI came enabled and works very well for me. Ram cooler helps with over clocking. If you read the requirements for the AMD Opteron proc's you will be fine. NIC's are stable and the onboard audio is great. Came with a Blankout that holds the SLI bridge in place.
Cons: There is only one PCI slot, and 1 PCI-X slot. The USB connectors are at the bottom of the board and I had to route them round my video cards for the back connectors and the front connectors are a bit far as well. The intruction book could be a bit more clear.
Other Thoughts: Very well designed board. Rembmer with the Opteron cpu's you need Reg-ECC RAM installed or it wont work, and you have to make sure you dont go above the speed that your CPU can handel. Also you need 20+Amps on the 12v Rail. I would stay away from the dual 12v rail cpu's. And you will be good to go :D

Poor quality, bad service, and unstable

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I purchased five of these motherboards from NewEgg in one order. As usual, NewEgg's shipment was prompt and fast; I received the motherboards within three days.
The MSI K8N Master2-Far is one of the more affordable dual-socket 940 motherboards that are available. It also has a relatively compact form-factor that makes it easy to use in a wide range of server cases. That, however, is where the positive attributes of the MSI K8N Master2-FAR end. The rest of the MSI K8N Master2-FAR experience is a nightmare.
Cons: Of the five MSI K8n Master2-Far motherboards that I purchased, two arrived DOA. Of the three remaining motherboards, two kept hanging on POST -- turns out they had shipped with an out-dated BIOS. Oddly enough, the most up-to-date BIOS is _not_ available from the MSI website. Instead, I had to hunt-down a German MSI forum with a link burried to the latest BIOS. None of the MSI tech support people I contacted were able provide me with access to the latest BIOS.
These motherboards are also extreemly unstable with all 6 DIMM sockets populated. Because of this, I have not been able to make use of more than 4 DIMM's on any of my motherboards.
MSI provided me with an RMA for the 2 DOA boards within 2 hours of me submitting a ticket. I shipped the boards out next-day-air to MSI. It has been over three weeks since I shipped the defective boards out, and I am still waiting!
These boards have terrible quality, poor documentation, lousy support, and awful RMA service.
Other Thoughts: You may save some money up-front with these boards, but that will be more than offset by the poor quality, terrible service, and unstable operation. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $
