5 out of 5 eggsAmazing board

Pros: This board never let me down, it was fairly cheap when I got it 7 years ago and I have played every game there is all the way up to diablo 3.

I beat it to death and rarely cleaned it. I did not have the side cover of my case on and the hdd was not secure and would ocasionally bang into the mb and nothing ever broke on the mb 0.o

Cons: Just got old after 7 years. Upgrading the system now that I take care of my stuff haha.

Other Thoughts: Best mb I've ever owned.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally gone

Pros: I had no issues with windows 7, USB card in pci slot worked fine. She ran untill today when I upgraded my power supply and video card. Then no go on her of course I went with asus again.

Cons: Got old

Other Thoughts: I'm simply amazed that this thing kept up with the games I have been playing with little to no problems and the board is 5-6 years old.

1 out of 5 eggsIt's not you, it's Asus

Pros: Was an excellent board for 2007, as evidenced by this being one of the most popular mobos out there. However.....

Cons: I'm writing this for those of you who own this motherboard and tried going to Windows 7 with it. W7 does work, but ASUS will not create drivers for it. If you run more than 2GB of RAM the LAN will break. The sound card also doesn't seem to work.

It's not you; it's your motherboard.

Other Thoughts: If you can afford it, it's time to upgrade. If you can't, ASUS is laughing at you so hard right now. They are sitting in their offices with a simple BIOS upgrade they won't give you, and laughing maniacally while twiddling their evil fingers because your perfectly good motherboard isn't going to ever work with Windows 7, ever.

1 out of 5 eggsSucks

Pros: None

Cons: Wouldn't show anything on the monitor and the removal switches for a PCI-Ex16 got crammed inbetween my 7950 GX2 so It's extremely hard to remove. Dont buy it.

Other Thoughts: Bought minorly used, but shouldn't make it not work.

1 out of 5 eggsThis Board.

Pros: Basically, the board works correctly when it's able to start up.

Cons: The board simply doesn't post with my E6600 (Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz). I have to wait for it to decide to POST. It's completely random whether or not it will start up.

Other Thoughts: I have found a way of actually getting it to start up, however, it is very inconvenient. Take your RAM out - Wait about 25 seconds - Reinsert the RAM - Boot it up, and it usually works. It's been a pain. I've had it for close to a year now and I've just not had the spare time to change it.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK!!!

Pros: Um... What?

Cons: The Motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I managed to get through the Vista Ultimate installation, then after the first boot, it decided to reboot cycle, and that was it. No more motherboard. I remember way back when... when Asus was a brand company who stood behind their product, but i was sadly mistaken. Asus is no longer an option...

5 out of 5 eggsP5NSLI, AWSOME BUDGET BOARD

Pros: this board is awsome in my opinion,i researched it inside and out before i bought it,i do recomend staying with the original bios #0601 it just works best for me. overclocks nice but prfere to leave it set at auto ai. ive read many complaints about this board, but i have none at all, it plays every game i have on max settings without any hiccups set at auto ai.

Cons: the card selector from single to dual is a bit tricky,be careful not to scratch your board when you remove it.

Other Thoughts: i built my pc on a budget. this isnt my first build. system specs:p5nsli mobo/pc power and cooling 610 silencer with single 12 volt rail/pentium D 3.2ghz cpu/4x512 ddr2 667mhz running stock at full 667mhz/sata2 hdd with win xp/ 2x256mb pny 7900gs cards in sli mode/11case fans in various areas for max cooling/hard drive cooler/soundblaster 24bit sound card hooked to yamaha amp with sorround sound speakers/ its been running flawlessly for over 5 months and have no problems at all. awsome budget board that does everything i ask of it...

3 out of 5 eggsAuto settings not good here...

Pros: 2 ide controllers allows for use of 4 ide devices
core 2 capable
dual sli
4 sata ports
cheap

Cons: Difficult IDE connections
fanless design runs hot!
Bios auto memory settings aren't very reliable.
Can't get it to operate with a usb card in the pci slot.
Can't get the second set of onboard usb ports to work.

Other Thoughts: I had to return this board for repair after 6 months of use. The board just would not boot.
Prior to returning the board I could never get the board to run in dual channel mode reliably. I blamed this on the memory but have since found out that was not the problem. The board would not run reliably with the 800mhz memory on auto timings. I set the memory speed to 667 and so far everything seems to work fine except for the usb problems mentioned above.

I thought I was investing in a decent board but I'm not so sure. But since I have 4 legacy ide devices it was the only board that allowed me to use my old parts. I'm confused with the memory problems I've had and the ASUS BIOS overclocking really appealed to me but I've not had any suceess using it and the auto recovery just doesn't seem to work as advertised.
