5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Great alternative for older Xeon CPU. Perfect for workstation apps like Premier Pro, rendering etc. Running Xeon 3.0 at 3.4GHz

Cons: Does not have voltage adjustment for CPU.

Other Thoughts: This is a great board if you have some Xeon 533/800 CPU's. Mine is used primarily as a video editing station with Premier Pro and Matrox RTX. Not bad for gaming either.

4 out of 5 eggsRUNS well

Pros: I have been running this Mainboard about a month now, and have had no issues with it. I am running dual 3.6ghz and is very fast. The instructions for mounting the processors are well laid out, and all the mounting hardware is a nice plus. I did not have the issues others mention with the memory. I am using ECC unregistered DDR400 and it works great. One issue I have had with other XEON mainboards is the increadibly large capacitors, and if you have ever tried to work around them it is extremely frustrating. This mainboard has average sized capacitors, not creating the headaches of other models.

Cons: The ATX power adapter is a bit low on the board, and if you are mounting this in an ATX case, you will need a longer cable, and it goes over the top of the memory slots.

Other Thoughts: One note, the board ships with addition USB ports ont the MIDI (game) backplate, but there are no additional headers on this mainboard. the four ports on the ATX outputs are it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Motherboard

Pros: Had a couple of 2.0 GHz LV Xeon's, together w/Intel Copper HSF's gathering dust. Had everything else needed, except for a m/b. Decided to utilize the Xeon's for Distributed Computing. After studying up on what to get, I went for the Asus NCCH-DL. Everything went together w/o a single problem, including loading up Windows XP Pro.
It's presently running Einstein@Home w/a World Rank RAC of number 38.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the eigth product that I've ordered from Newegg. They have a great selection of products, great prices, excellent shipping, as well as a great reputation.

3 out of 5 eggsMemory Warning.. :(

Pros: Good mainboard; fast and great for the price aswell.. onboard raid controller works great; aswell as good sata expansion good small office server mainboard.

Cons: As I've seen posted here; ordered 4 sticks of ECC/Dualchan/REGISTERED ram; opened of course; newegg won't refund for memory :(

Other Thoughts: This runs on ECC/Non-ECC Dual channel UNBUFFERED ram. Strange for a server motherboard that doesn't use server memory. Just be careful

3 out of 5 eggsMemory Warning :(

Pros: Great board for the price; well laid out; with a good number of options and a fair number of on board heat syncs. Good Dual Xeon board.

Cons: With the lay out of this board I went and purchased 2 gigs of ECC/dualchan/registered memory; bad mistake; bizzare that this 'is' a server mainboard but for some reason doesn't use REGISTERED ram; in short I now have no working memory; as the ram I bought is registered; it has (obviously) been opened and new egg will not 'exchange' it.

Other Thoughts: Good product and I've 'heard' about nothing but good support from newegg.com or I wouldn't be here; kinda hard when your shafted without a working system because your not allowed to swap for working memory. Would be well worth the customers they keep in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggsTrue

Pros: Network not on PCI bus, good gigabit network performance.

Cons: Support for x86_64 isn't great. Both RedHat and Solaris do not like this chipset in 64 bit mode.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: It probably is the fastest MB for dual Xeons. I have no problems so far. It is the perfect MB for workstation. With dual Xeon 3.8Ghz/2MB and patriot EP 4GB RAM this MB provides the performance (my multithreaded applications) around 1.15 slower than dual dual-core Opterons 275 (1.5 times more expensive system)
