5 out of 5 eggsASUS P5k-E Stable as ever

Pros: Best mobo and smoothest build to date great board. This is after 5 years of use. Wifi works well a feature I didn't need at the time but it came in handy. I will require wifi in all future motherboards.

Cons: None to speak of

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo

Pros: Great mobo, this is my first build. Just put everything together booted it up with no problems. Running with, intel e8400, 4gb ocz platinum 800mhz, corsair 450w, nvidia 8800gt, ZALMAN CNPS9500 cpu cooler, antec 900 case. Overclocked to 4ghz idles at around 40c.

Cons: The back plate as pretty annoying had a lot of metal pieces sticking out, I had to break some off and bend the rest to get all the things like usb, sound to fit in.

Other Thoughts: Great mobo, easy overclock, user friendly, wireless function is pretty useless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: I bought this board to build my first PC for home. I had zero problems getting this board installed in my Adaptec ninehundred case. I've had this up nonstop since I purchased it and haven't had any issues (knock on wood). I would definitely recommend this board.

Cons: none right now

Other Thoughts: newegg comes through again...I tell everyone I know not to deal w/ other retailers...they can get better deals and service from Newegg

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for $

Pros: - Every on-board feature you could want except video
- E-SATA = awesome stuff
- Stable as a rock

Cons: - the PCIE-X16 port could be a problem for some cases and graphics cards. If you have a really long card it will cover 2 of the sata ports, if you have a short case the card will hit the drive housing.

Other Thoughts: Fantastic card for the price, it's been very stable and comes with reasonably sized and useful applications. I just wish it had an ECU temp monitor program included.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Lots of great options. USB 2.0, PCI-E X 16, WIFI, heat pipe.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I had trouble with my OCZ GOLD memory. It was not on the mfg. verified list. After manual adjusting the voltage to 2.1 and the timings to 4-4-4-12 all went well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Runs great. Great feature set. Lots of little details in the design that are pretty cool. Supports decent amount of USB ports. Running a quad core q6600 2.4 with 4g 1066 RAM on Vista Ultimate and it's running great. Detailed manual.

Cons: As already mentioned, SATA ports are in a weird place. Not a real problem for me (I'm running a DAW so no fancy video card), but a little inconvenient. If you're planning on using 1066 DDR2 ram, be sure to read the manual an ASUS' site for which ram is compatible in 1066 mode- the choices are somewhat slim but if you buy one of these models it will work great.

Other Thoughts: ASUS' wifi drivers work great for me in Vista. But, they had to be downloaded from their site (the drivers that came with the MB didn't seem to be compatible; neither did the Realtek drivers previously suggested). This is my main (native) Pro Tools/Ableton Live rig and it's running great, even with all the extra Vista eye-candy.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Many slots. Boots right up without any additional drivers. Great board. Using OCZ DDR2 PC 8500 1066 memory 5-5-5-15. Runs cool with E8400 Intel Core2Duo and high end NVidia graphics PCIe card. Artic Cooler chip fan fits nice and easy to install on this board. Chipset 28C and Chip 30C at idle.

Cons: 12V PS 4-pin connection is a bit difficult to access once the board is mounted. Not a big problem.

Other Thoughts: Have not tried to overclock. I have the non-WiFi version of this board, but all should be very similar from what I have read. Wish I had the WiFi, but it was unavailable from another supplier.
