5 out of 5 eggsASUS K8V-X Mobo

Comments: I upgraded from an Abit looking for speed and I found it. I like the board and it was easily installed and configured. New Egg is FAST and easily the BEST!

1 out of 5 eggsSUCKS

Comments: Will not work with AMD Sempron 64 2800+ Palermo 800MHz FSB 256KB L2 Cache Socket 754 Processor - Retail, Stepping E6. + ASUS is taking a rather anti-linux stance as of late. :(

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Comments: This board is very nice for the money. I'm using the SATA Raid controller, and a Sempron 2800. You need to update the BIOS first thing, cause this doesn't support the new Semprons until you update. After that, smooth sailing.

3 out of 5 eggsBoard popped

Comments: I unpackake the board install everything as I am suppose and I have been doing this for years, I checked the board wasn't grounded any where and all the standoffs were properly installed. I even triple checked the specs of the power supply which I bought from here. I go to power on the board and I start to smell something burning. It turns out that one of the black squares towards the front of the board had a whole in it. Going to try and see if I can get this RMA'd I just hope I didn't loose any other components.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Comments: Been running this board for almost a year now, and not a single issue has popped up. Running it with an AMD64 Athlon 3200+, and runs smooth no matter what I do to it. A must have board for socket 754 processors.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Beware MyLOGO utility corrupted my BIOS and caused it to be non-bootable, although ASUS sent me a free replacement BIOS chip but not until they sent me the wrong one first. Stable board, simple BIOS, serves its purpose cheap and reliable.

3 out of 5 eggsFaults but acceptable

Comments: I also had problems with a BIOS startup error 0163. I corrected this with a BIOS flash using the EZ-BIOS method and then accepting default settings. Even though I had a single HD, I only got XP to setup after installing the SATA RAID driver. Which I believe to be the cause of the initial boot errors.

Board runs fine now, works great, but I expected more from ASUS. It should have worked straight from the box.
