5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: I have owned this board since August and have NEVER had a problem with it. I am actually upgrading and keep this mother board because it can do so much! I love the dual-channel feature :-) It is really nice and spacey, makes the components cozy :-D.

Cons: Not many except for the microphone jack is broken always has been, and that would be it.

Other Thoughts: Didn't have the money back in August to buy the top of the line but I researched and for the money or not this board was up in the high end!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything you could hope for in a motherboard. Worked excellently for 1 year to the day!

Cons: Item is apparently discontinued. One year to the day after I got this mobo, my digital optical out plug eventually died but since this product is no longer being produced, I had to upgrade to another Asus board.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome MOBO

Pros: This is the best mother board I have ever used (Over 30 builds). Excellent layout, great bios/overclocking options, Rock solid.

Cons: I would have liked to see a firewire header. My case has a port on the front that is now worthless, although, I do have firewire on my Audigy card.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why everyone is complaining about the chipset fan, mine has been near silent and running great for months. I have a rev. 2 board, maybe just got lucky. I used to be a huge fan of Epox & MSI boards, but this mobo blows away anything from either of those companies. Do not hesitate to buy this board...unless you HAVE to have SLI. And as for the Nvidia Firewall- doesn't anyone read? If you do a little research you should know not to install it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo for a low budget build

Pros: Purchased this motherboard along with some other parts to upgrade my computer (from a duron 1.3GhZ no name mobo). I was a little worried about some of the reviews I read, but I haven't had a problem with it yet, and that's with the stock chipset fan installed.

Cons: Not really a con, but Asus has some scary warnings on their site about using the BIOS revision and Drivers that are meant to go together. Not really a problem though since I downloaded the latest and greatest ahead of time and flashed before installing Windows. I also didn't install the nForce firewall software since I have an external firewall solution.

Other Thoughts: Paired with two gigs of G.Skill DDR400 ram, an Athlon X64 3200+ and an EVGA GeForce 7600GT. I average above 40 frames 90% of the time in the F.E.A.R. benchmarks and 90 FPS in Doom 3 timedemo 1

4 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: it's solid, and it started up nicely, it's worked for a few months now and aside form the onboard sound have had no problems

Cons: the onboard sound was terrible, crackley and poor quality and had a lot of software issues.

Other Thoughts: if you're buying this, go and buy a $xx dollar sound card with it

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Pretty good layout, nice features, stable.

Cons: Northbridge fan/heatsink. I replaced the fan within 1 month when it simply stopped working.

Other Thoughts: Besides a cheap northbridge fan, its a great motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great - needs firewire

Pros: Works great for me. Have it with 3 TV tuner cards a pcie video card, and PCIe firewire card. runs my HTPC, and could use firewire on board.

Cons: The MOBO fan got loud, so I replaced it with a quieter one. Otherwise - rock solid MOBO.

Other Thoughts: The firewire card sometimes causes the computer not to post... However, I'm not sure if it is the card or the MOBO, but since I rarely reboot it is not a big problem.
