5 out of 5 eggsAmaazzing!!!

Pros: this thing is awesome, decent onboard video and sound for the price. Asus is the bomb, a great buy!!!

Cons: the only bad thing i have to say about this is that i couldn't boot up right away I had to figure out that you need to make an updated driver disk with a floppy. cause it doesn't have the right drivers to run an SATA Hard Drive right away! but it's not an equipment failure so it still rocks!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: this is a good board for a cheap system. I paired it with a Celeron D for my 12yr old brother

Cons: the mouse/keyboard ports have been very finiky... and my brother was only able to get one or the other to work.
when my bro wanted to upgrade his graphics I got him a 6600GT. the mobo just would not work with a pcie gfx card (tried 3 different ones that all work in other rigs) I had to RMA the board to Asus... I'm still waiting to get it back

Other Thoughts: it is a good entry level board, but be sure you update the bios and even then you may have some problems.

4 out of 5 eggsBIOS update essential

Pros: Used this mobo in a computer being built for a charity auction. Went together fastest of all the computers I have built (all Asus mobos). Loaded and updated XP and Norton security with no prob. Installing last piece of MS Works and the whole thing crashed! Never worked right again. Reformatted HD and reinstalled XP. Tried different memory. No luck. Finally RMA mobo back to Newegg; no hassles but got message it was out-of-stock. Had to purchase replacement board from other supplier at higher price, but had a deadline.

Cons: ASUS website. Would prefer more troubleshooting help ... online chat with tech support would be very helpful.

Other Thoughts: When new board arrived, installed it exactly the same as the first one with a few exceptions: 1) found out that a BIOS update had been released on 11/11/2005 -- about 3 days after I had RMAed the first board. So the new board got the most recent BIOS update. That might have been the whole problem. 2) Reformatted the hard drive and re-installed all software. Decided NOT to install AI Booster and ASUS BIOS update program. Read on a forum somewhere that if your computer is working, don't update the BIOS just because there's an update. 3) Added a bit of Arctic Silver on the chip because I had taken it in and out so many times while troubleshooting. 4) Bought memory that was on the approved list provided by ASUS. Hard to find exact model number, but did so to make sure I was not having memory issues.
The new board went in without a glitch. Everything loaded perfectly. The person who bought it at the auction has been running it for a few weeks now and has no problems with it!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy install and set up. On-board video is OK for most games.

Cons: Poor reliability.

Other Thoughts: I had to RMA this board after 2 months. The on-board video crapped out. Nothing oin monitor, no POST tone, but the drives kept turning. Asus took over a month to replace.

5 out of 5 eggsJust A Awsome Board for the $

Pros: WOW this board is just awsome. Sata Controlers and all. Overclocking is Soooo easy with the AI booster. You can manually configure the CPU Memory PCI E slot EVERYTHING! Very stable board. Ive got a P4 630 OC'ed to 3.4 on air maxed out right now doing stress testing and System isnt going over 50c idles around 29c. Just an amazing board DONT HESSITATE to Buy. The onboard is Fantastic. I play Americas Army and CS S no problems. Americas Army Gets upwards of 60 FPS on most maps and never goes below 30. CS S is more Graphic intensive so im lacking a little there but running around 25-30 FPS on 1024x768 on both games and high settings. Just an Overall nice Board DONT hessitate. Oh BTW you can use a 20 pin connector PSU but if you want to add a PCI E card then get the 20 to 24 converter.

Cons: None Really, just that newegg never keeps this board instock, =( what a bummer,..had to buy from another vendor Driectron.com

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a reliable Board From a TRUSTED Name "ASUS" then dont hessitate buy today. OH newegg ROCKS and UPS is Lacking. =) but they did get it here with no problems and box looked great. No mangling like some of the other posts youll read.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for buck

Pros: Awesome and easy install. Works great for everything. The onboard video is okay for gaming, but thats why they have a pci-e 16x in it. Good stuff.

Cons: Overclocking lacks a little. It gets unstable using the NOS feature more than 10%. More power more cooling is needed i am thinking.

Other Thoughts: For the guy that says the SATA and installing of a vid card is tough, find me a MOBO with intergrated graphics that doesn't have those same two problems. Windows XP shipped without the neccessary drivers to detect a sata HD, and thats why you must put them on a disk before installing the windows. Installing the Graphics card on an intergrated MOBO has always had this procedure, but I am not sure why you are clearing the cmos, as I have never seen a Video card not work after switching off on board. Please don't blame ASUS for this. It isn't their fault, just the way SATA and onboard vid goes. Hopefully the next windows will come with the neccessary drivers to allow us to install windows without a floppy.

4 out of 5 eggsPCI Express 16 @x4

Pros: First Built computer, overall good motherboard easy to overclock.
x200 is nice but not for serious gaming.

Cons: Um Why is my X800GTO only running at PCI E x4 when this is listed as a PCI Express x16 mobo.

3 out of 5 eggsproblem with nvidia cards and sata

Pros: .

Cons: This is Asus card but for using sata and nvidia cards dosent have the asus quality i,m asus fan but this time totaly disapointed you need to download and updated bios for nvidia cards and for sata you have to have floppy to intall driver on dos and installing nvidias is pain because you have to disable the on board video and try the pci video card and if isnot works clear the bios and use the oboard video to download the patch for uncompatable video cards and restat the pc and then disable onboard video but overal i,m happy with perfrmance

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: Awesome overclocking software, super easy config., fit perfectly in case.

Cons: Why can't the RAID be automatic?
All the other SATA drives I've installed in other boards were a snap. This install required putting the drivers off a cd onto a 3 1/4 floppy then installing during Win XP boot. I had to search my junkyard of parts just to find a darn floppy drive and disk. I almost forgot how to format the disk. Anyways, I don't understand why it can't be built into the BIOS.

Other Thoughts: ASUS boards are extremely reliable and always have cool little features that others overlook.
