Production system quality
- Pros: Fast, stable and full featured board with fantastic management features. Asus does a great job with their server boards and packs them with everything you'll need to get up and running quick.
- Cons: Well, I got the board and had a slight compatibility issue with my CPU's displaying a uCode failure. Eeeek.
- Other Thoughts: The bios revision sent to me on the board was the latest listed on the ASUS website but did not include proper uCodes for my 3.4 Ghz CPU's. Sure this was frustrating for a short while, but ASUS tech support did such a great job of getting me a Bios revision that corrected the problem within 1 day directly from the engineers! The revision is now on the ASUS site.

- Pros: Great board when it works. It screams and setup is a breeze. If you have ever put a XEON system together before, this one will be easy! I'd give it five stars if I could get ASUS to send me working versions every time.
- Cons: First board ran for two months and then shut down on its own. Found out that if I removed 2nd processor, the system worked fine. Advanced replacement warranty - everything working great since replacement! Second server I put this model of board into is still working perfectly. As is the third server. Went to build a fourth server tonight, and the board is dead right out of the box. Buying all retail boxed versions of this board, and still getting about 50% failure rate out of the boxes - that's why I give it a 2 - when the thing works, it works like a 5. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to keep fooling with these, and my customers can't wait.
- Other Thoughts: I don't use any of the on-board stuff, so my "pros" listed above are based solely on base functionality, and not on the on-board CPU stealers.
