ASUS has created, in its A8N32, a motherboard that will support some serious tweaking. With support for 4GB of DDR RAM, two 16-pipe PCI-E links with SLI, and an 8-Phase power design, you can build the mega-machine that’ll be the envy of your friends. Worried about the heat from overclocking? The design manages usage and heat stress and pulls off excess heat through an impressive copper heatpipe arrangement that allows for quiet, fanless operation.
The BIOS allows you to manipulate a huge range of tweaking options, either manually or by the AI overclock settings. This board is as stable as a rock, outlasting even the longest stress tests, and can survive almost anything you can do to it. Built for the picky and meticulous tweakers interested in getting the most out of their purchase, this is one fine offering from ASUS.

Stable Gaming Board!!!
- Pros: Well I bought this board to replace my A8N-E and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. This board is fast and comes fully packed with tons of goodies to make your gaming fly. I no longer need to use a router for my home network since I can bridge both LAN ports together to allow internet access to my other PC. This board has given me the greatest stability of any board I have ever owned. It powers my AMD 4400+ X2, 2GB's of DDR400 Corsair and my Asus EAX850XTPE without a hitch. I can also overclock as needed with absolutely no problem and I honestly couldn't be happier with my decision on purchasing this MoBo. GG Asus and Newegg. Always a pleasure...
- Cons: The CMOS jumper pin is retardedly placed but its manageable. I have no other cons regarding this board.
- Other Thoughts: If you are a dedicated gamer such as myself and running on Socket 939, then don't pass up this board. The Heat Pipe Rocks!!!
- Pros: Stable.
No issues running 4 1GB corsair valueselect at 400MHz. (Coudn't do this with the Asus A8N-SLI Premium).
- Cons: This motherboard itself runs between 7-12C hotter than the Asus A8N-SLI Premium that I owned prior.
This board does not have P-ATA/IDE RAID support, see manuf. site. The A8N-SLI Premium supported IDE/SATA cross controller raid.
There are only 5 SATA ports on the motherboard. To make use of the Sil raid controller (in raid mode) you need an "eSata" cable which is not easy to find.
Northbridge-Southbridge may use only 8 lanes, instead of 16; thus everyday usage takes a performance hit for the sake of graphics throughput (which doesn't necessarily make use of all 16 lanes).
- Other Thoughts: Only 1 PCI slot usable with SLI.
For whatever reason this board runs the HT bus at 800 instead of 1000. BIOS indicates 5x mult., but only get 4x? Hasn't seemed to impact performance.
This motherboard tends to overvolt CPUs (vcore). Most forums indicate 0.0625 increase, but personally I've only seen 0.045-0.6.
This motherboard isn't supported by nTune yet (01/06).
I'd prefer A8N-SLI Premium if I wasn't interested in running 4GB ram. (3DMark05 scores were very close)

Easy to install, amazing board, esp. for a beginner
- Pros: I'm no pro at this; prior to my recent 'accident', the most I ever did was install a hard drive. But when my failing liquid cooling spilled all over the motherboard, it was time to buy another. I bought the same one as before, and putting it in was a snap--it was my first ever and I got it right the first time. The documentation was solid.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Pros may scoff at a newbee's review, but for those of us that don't custom build computers, it means a lot to us to have a part like a motherboard that is this easy to install and get right the first time. I would definitely buy again (and did!)
Great!
- Pros: For a socket 939 this is the absolute best board you can buy that is still using 939 Cpu's. Although we all know socket 939 is going out of business soon if it hasn't already this is the ultimate board to get.
- Cons: None it looks great, not boring green or yello, but very colorful to the eye.
- Other Thoughts: Why not go down with a bang, a socket 939 bang! No regrets this board will speak for itself.
- Pros: It's been almost a week since this board was installed and it's been EXTREMELY STABLE with some OCing. Setup were pretty straight forward, had it running within half an hour + sysprep back to XP without an issue!. Great amount of options for overclocker. 3dmark06 score nearly doubled with a 8800gts. For those with X-Fi cards, either move your X-Fi card to PCI3 slot or set PCI Latency Timer to 32, should easily remove any of your stuttering and crackles.
- Cons: Weights! Weights! Weights! Layout of the board were too cramp and a bit too much onboard features for my taste. No custom fan controls... could really use one.
