Best Board For Budget PC
- Pros: Inexpensive, solid board. Coupled with a good video card, AMD 64 processor and a gig of memory, you have a really fast budget PC. Great on-board sound, no static or interference from other circuits on the board. I built a system for my friend using this board, he was happy. I went and bought one for myself, to build a system in the future. I've never had much trouble with ASUS MBs.
- Cons: Location of the plugin for the floppy drive is between the AGP and PCI slot instead of near the IDE plugins on the edge of the board.
- Other Thoughts: You can build a very fast system with this board for very little money. Can't wait to build this board with a AMD 64 3400 and 2 gigs of ram!
Never again
- Pros: The second one I got turned on
- Cons: First one was DOA, had to RMA.
Second one has dead onboard sound controller. Returning for refund.
- Other Thoughts: This board is a waste of time, money, and will cost you twice as much after RMAs.
ya gotta love ASUS
- Pros: great board,SATA raid 0 2 x WD 80G,2 X 512 pc 3200, 1st 128 upgraded to 256 graphics card (Nvidia of course),64 3200+, everything has worked tops. no problems at all in over a year. ezflash bios with no problem. piece of cake to build/upgrade.
- Cons: i see none except that with all systems a year later i want to build a new tower and give this one 2 my son
- Other Thoughts: asus probe and cool& quiet are neat features but not needed. I recommend ASUS boards to anyone and will probably never stray myself.
