5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy Back in the day

Pros: Owned it since 5/2005. Has worked very well so far.

Cons: For whatever reason I have to manually shut off the power supply (on 4th one now) to boot. If I power down and forget to do this I have to wait about 10 mins after killing PS to boot up. The fan over the bridge by teh pci-e slot is noisy after a cold boot. Blowing air on it or touching it with a something fixes this. I should just replace it.

Other Thoughts: First board had a broken back fan but easy New Egg RMA had a new board here in decent time. anyway. Great Board. This was my 3rd ECS board. Love the company.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent value

Pros: Price appropriately. Plenty of connectors. The Tophat flash is a nice idea but I hope I never have to use it. Came with a surprising amount of cables and plugs. The PCI and drive slot for the extra USB and FireWire ports are nice.

Cons: The little fan built into the board that goes into the inputs plate is kind of worthless. I'd rather not have it at all considering with that and the nForce chip fan there is only 1 fan plug remaining on the board. While there were plenty of cables included with this, there were only a few screws and no risers for the motherboard. The floppy drive connector is in an inconvenient place below the bottom PCI slot.

Other Thoughts: I had some problems installing Windows 2000 with this (probably the nForce chipset, not the board). I got drivers from the ECS site and they worked great for the installation procedure, but when it came to booting Windows for the first time the PC would just shut off after 10-15 seconds. It turned out that the SATA/IDE driver from the ECS site worked for the hard drive but did not work for the optical drives (I have a DVD burner, DVD Drive, and a CD burner). I had to troubleshoot for a while, but booting without those drives plugged in finally worked and I just installed the newest drivers from nvidia.com and now everything works great.

5 out of 5 eggsSome minor issues, but a great board

Pros: Great layout of the board. Plenty of SATA and USB ports. Great value.

Cons: I had some issues at first. I would get a lot of errors trying to install Windows. I was using some older DDR 333 Kingston RAM from my other PC. It worked fine in my old PC, but caused issues with this motherboard. I borrowed a 512MB stick of DDR 400 from a friend and everything started running fine then. I had a couple of minor driver issues once Windows finally completed, but was able to download and install the correct drivers without an problems. I ordered 2 GB of DDR 400 GSkill RAM and installed it and have not had an more issues.

Other Thoughts: System specs:

4 out of 5 eggsOk board

Pros: Has a ton of features, and some pretty cool lights. Lots of sata, ide and nforce 4 ultra chipset.

Cons: Not the best overclocking board as it lacks fine tuning adjustments. Maybe a bios updat would change that. Every review of the board said that it came with a 802.11g usb adapter which it did not. Does not play nice with motherboard monitoring software.

Other Thoughts: Should have spent the money for a better board and sli.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: nForce is the best chipset ever. This board has PCI express, and supports 4gb RAM. This board has everything.

Cons: Not SLi. It has an ugly KN1 Extreme splashscreen that covers the POST, but it can be turned off in the BiOS.

Other Thoughts: Fast Shipping and easy install.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: Price AND Performance! This mobo is an oustanding value. Although the socket 939 is no longer the top-of-the-line product this mobo delivers in all areas. Got it in a combo deal with a Athlon 64, 4000+ single core CPU, what a steal (I mean deal)!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Kinda wish I got one much earlier!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome all around board

Pros: aside from the price and good looks, this board has it all, would be good for just about any kind of build. was the smoothest install ive ever done out of about 30 something builds

Cons: none for me with a full atx case but might possibly be a squeeze in a mid atx case, dont know for sure, performance is awesome so there are no actual cons from me

Other Thoughts: hardcore gamers and first timers both will love this board
