Poor Customer Support
- Pros: decent price for the features
- Cons: Customer service is abysmal, communication with ECS is nearly nonexistent, no phone number, email support form functions only from certain browsers, sometimes. ECS was slow to process my RMA, extremely slow to ship the replacements. Shipped me a bad board as under-warranty replacement.
- Other Thoughts: After nearly a year in this build, the system locked up and failed to reboot or even POST. After repeating myself to ECS via email three or four times, they told me I sent them the wrong serial number, were UNABLE to tell me where to look for the real S/N (they told me it was "on the parallel port" near some other component on the board, and couldn't tell me WHY they kept saying that when the board doesn't have an LPT port onboard). They seem extremely unfamiliar with their own products. They took weeks to ship me the replacement - a refurb that also died after two days in this machine. Using a replaced, tested PSU (just in case). It then took several more weeks to convince ECS that they shipped me a bogey. Now I'm waiting for weeks again to get the replacement. This system has been out of commission from Nov 2006 to the present, March 2007. I will never buy nor recommend another ECS product.
Good Board for the money
- Pros: 6 sata slots
dual lan - bridgeable great package contents
- Cons: no so far
- Other Thoughts: definaltly worth the money
Ecs Extreme Beware
- Pros: None
- Cons: Intermitant boot and post problems from inception. Inadequate tech manual and lousy Raid. Do not buy!
- Other Thoughts: I have built several dozen computers over the years and have used New Egg for all. This is the first MOBO I ever returned, buy an Asus instead they are rock solid so far. I have 20 years in the trade and have not seen such lousy products except for maybe Rosewill.
