5 out of 5 eggsWhat can I say? This board is great!

Pros: Board is extremely stable. Great over clocking features which are simple to use. On board sound produces excellent sound quality. Micro-ATX board which would be great for HTPC or a gaming system.

Cons: Only has 1 PCI X-Press x16 slot. This is NOT an SLI/Crossfire board, but if you don't need that, it truly is spectacular.

Other Thoughts: System from June 2006:

AMD Opteron 270 (overclocked from 2.0 to 2.7 GHZ)
DFI Infinity RS482 board
2GB Dual Channel G.Skill DDR 500 (PC400)
2x Seagate 80GB 7200RPM HDD (Raid 0)
Sapphire Radeon X1800XT 256MB

Still runs awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsPacked with features

Pros: Great board! I am amazed at how much stuff is on this board. A VGA and DVI connector on-board, for dual screen setups on the cheap. My setup- AMD X2 4200+, ASUS x1950 Pro, and 1gb of Geil Ram. This was a fast cheap and easy upgrade for me coming from 6800gt and P4 2.5 Ghz. Also has the option of controlling the CPU fanspeed to keep things quiet, Great board for the $$

Cons: None, nada, zip.... so far

Other Thoughts: I have yet to try the "surround view" setup. It is supposed to let you run 4 monitors at one time with the addition of a PCI-e card. I run 2 Samsung syncmasters now... planning on getting another to have tri-screen...

1 out of 5 eggsgreat while it worked

Pros: good overclock

Cons: the motherboard crapped out after a couple of months of use, i liked the board until that moment. when i tried to RMA the board the RMA department @ DFI is absolutly horrible. i had to RMA other products before like a asus m/b or a graphics card. and i understand that they lose money for every bad M/b that they make but they really need an attitude adjustment at DFI. so be aware if the product is bad u have an extremly high chance of being stuck with the product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: This is an excellent product, I've done over 30 installs now using this DFI Micro board without a single problem, mostly multi-boot, using XP & Media Center & Vista & Linux, both 32 & 64 bit OS's for friends, and my own. Everyone’s very happy with them for about 2 years. It has great 8 channel sound, and nice onboard graphics. The onboard ATI graphics chip can play the graphics demanding game called F.E.A.R. at smooth frame rates set at lower resolution, with in-game features turned on. Less demanding games play smoothly at full resolution with in-game features turned on. Great for playing movies, or listening to quality music, or video & photo editing, or just surfing the internet. I've only needed to use the drivers on the supplied CD, and didn't require a BIOS reflash for any of them. They all run very fast and very cool.

Cons: From reading all the negative reviews on this, and many other motherboards, I'm very worried about our Gene Pool, Please when your product arrives have someone that knows what they are doing help you from the very start, don't connect some funny smelling shorted out PSU and then call your friendly neighborhood IT guy to fix your fried board, and don't expect RAM that came from a burned out PC to do anything but damage to your new investment. And if you are too lazy to read your manual then find someone that will. The lights on your motherboard mean your sockets are still charged and you shouldn't even have the cover off when they are on. And don't press the any-key to boot from CD after the OS begins to install and needs to reboot. No wonder they need to put warnings on public restroom towel machines, but who is going to read that for them.

Other Thoughts: DFI has very capable engineers in their customer service department and quickly respond to questions, contact them first when you are unsure about anything, everyone at DFI is highly qualified. I've used them and the great staff at New Egg several times, and always find the experience very rewarding. If you have a problem, seek a solution from someone that has some experience. Try an E-mail with all of your components and product numbers written down so they have an idea of what you have. If you are using a funny smelling PSU from a failed PC add that info too, they may need a laugh.

New Egg also sells complete PC’s, they can customize to your liking before shipping, I now think most people should purchase those and save everyone a lot of time & money. You are going to bring a great hobby for those that CAN to an end.

4 out of 5 eggsGood except for onboard video

Pros: Cheap, full of features, some OC ability, very low power consumption

Cons: onboard ATi video is flakey, with it, system will hang/reboot/have random video card driver errors

Other Thoughts: added a 6600gt PCIe video card and works great

1 out of 5 eggsWhat a waste!

Pros: It is awesome when it works.

Cons: I've had 2 of these die on me already. This is what I get for using something else besides Asus or Biostar.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy. It is a waste of money unless you love taking apart your computer and replacing your mb.

overclocked my 3200+ to 2.6 stock easily.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclockers Dream

Pros: This is my updated review.
Very solid board I gave it low marks before because of board lay out in first review. Other than that this board is an overclockers dream. If you just want a cheap fast computer this is the board to get. My AMD Athlon 4000+ scores the same as my X2 6000+ in 3Dmark 05 (6050) when I overclock the 4000+ to 3048 with this board and crucial Ballistic ddr-500 and 2.5 cas you have to set manually.
Free lesson below for those that are just getting started in over clocking.

Cons: Poor board lay-out.
Read below for OC settings

Other Thoughts: OC settings: Genie bios
cpu fsb: 12X
cpu north bridge: 3X
cpu clock: 254
Dram clock: auto
cpu volts:1.575
dram volts:2.9
Memory timing (T1)

This is with crucial 2-512 sticks ddr-500 Ballistic.
The ram timing is not rated at this, but it is what it can do with the sticks I got.
Make baby steps on cpu clock the board does not like big steps.
I was not able to go above 3048 with the tight ram settings stable.

superpi:27.1-1 meg
3D mark05: cpu score 6050

Get a zalman 9700 or other cpu cooler. Watch cpu temps with software like cpu cool. Use Artic Silver 1 grain of rice.
