2 out of 5 eggsToo many problems!

Pros: 1. Good board for overclocking (if you get one that works); lots of bells and whistles.

Cons: I went through 3 of these boards in about 6 weeks (only ran at stock speeds, never overclocked):
1. The first board worked ok for about 2 weeks. Then it fried my 6800GT video card (ouch!). About a week later it died and I could not get it to post.
2. Second board worked great, until I found that none of the onboard USB ports worked.
3. Third board set up nicely, then died about 3 hours later during a run of Prime 95 stress test. Could not get it to post after that.

Other Thoughts: Some serious quality problems here. Besides the hassle of assembling then tearing down my setup 3 times, having to go through RMAs each time was not cool. I finally switched to the MUCH more stable ASUS K8N board and it's been humming along nicely.

5 out of 5 eggsSolution for Northbridge Cooler

Pros: The passive aluminum Northbridge Chipset Cooler can be replaced with a VANTEC CCB-A1C (Copper) VGA Cooler. No modifications need to be done to the Vantec Cooler or the motherboard.

Cons: The motherboard comes standard with a rather wimpy aluminum cooler causing Northbridge temps to run a bit high during overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent to me

Pros: Great mobo. Very Stable. Very easy overclocking bios settings for those not keen on settings.

Cons: Had a problem with the onboard nic after I upgraded drivers and bios a few months ago. Had to enter the MAC manually in the bios to make it work. If this is the only thing it has wrong I can accept that.

Other Thoughts: I would say this is a very stable mobo. It has givin me months of reliable service. I owned a DFI previously and it worked great. I would recommend them to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsoverclocking paradise !!!!!!!!!

Pros: WOW ..WHERE DO I START , WITH THE AUTOMATIC PCI LOCK OR THE AGP LOCK / OVERCLOCKING .THE OVERCLOCKING CAPABILITIES OF THIS BOARD ARE MASSIVE WITH THE GENIE BIOS .AND LET ME TELL YA THIS BOARD IS EASY TO SET UP , JUST A FEW JUMPERS AND YOUR READY TO GO . BUT THE REAL WONDER IS WHEN YOU CRACK INTO THE BIOS YOU HAVE EVERY KIND OF BIO'S FEATURE KNOWN TO MAN ..I LOVE IT .I'M RUNNIN AN ATHLON 64 3000 AT 3.8 ghz AND IT ROCKS .THANKS NEWEGG , FAST SHIPPING AS ALWAYS .

Cons: IT'S NOT FREE .

Other Thoughts: WELL WORTH THE MONEY ! EVEN FOR YOU PEOPLE THAT DON'T OVERCLOCK IT RUNS GREAT AT STOCK BUT WHEN YOU DO OVERCLOCK >>>>>>>> IT SCREAMS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

4 out of 5 eggsNewegg dropped the ball with this one

Pros: Easy to work with. DIY's dream board. 4 SATA connectors as well as some nice rounded cables for the IDEs. Easy to install and run (after like the 3rd time . . .)

Cons: OK here's the reason for my low score. I went through two boards (the first shorted out on me, guess it was my fault) and the second one that they shipped had two major flasw: malfunctioning audio plugs (had to install a sounblaster) and the plastic holder for the agp slot was gone. Not newegg's finest work but I'll take what I can get at this point

Other Thoughts: Really let me down on this one, but hell it works and its been runnin smooth since.

1 out of 5 eggsSeriously defective

Pros: Well rated and highly recommended previously. Has many desireable design features.

Cons: Both boards of this model have failed within a month of being put into service. DFI appears to have serious production problems.

Other Thoughts: Newegg deserves an A+++ rating for their handling of this matter, including their dropping this model from their inventory. Run them up a flagpole and I will surely salute and they will continue to have my business.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, stable board

Pros: This board has been a fast and stable workhorse. I haven't had any problems with drivers or devices. It has been a great starter in the 64 bit world.

Cons: Maybe if you don't like yellow.

Other Thoughts: I have not tried to overclock this board. I bought this for its high stability rating and it hasn't failed me yet.

3 out of 5 eggsUSB failed

Pros: For me... easy upgrade from the old board. no OS reinstall required. Great performance!

Cons: All of the sudden, every USB port on the board... stopped working all at once. Tried booting in knoppix, but it couldn't see the ports either (ruled out OS error). $xx bucks get's me a pci usb card, but I can't use the two front ports!

Other Thoughts: Won't buy DFI again, but I'm not scrambling to replace it either. Works for now.
