5 out of 5 eggsStill Goin' Strong!

Pros: I bought this board from Newegg in 2005 and have been using it constantly ever since. I'm actually on the system right now. No problems with the board whatsoever to report over the last 9 years of service!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I ran this board with an LSI Ultra 320 SCSI host bus adapter (bought from Newegg)and two Seagate X15 Cheetah drives for 8 of the last 9 years in a RAID 0 config. Two months ago one drive seized with a loud screech. I was able to replace the entire config with a 1TB SATA drive with no problems at all, and just now mounted an NVIDIA Quadro K4000 graphics card to use for scientific research/calculations.

If all goes well, I will be taking this board down in three years when the 16-bit software I'm supporting will be taken out of service.

So far, you can't beat this kind of quality...

5 out of 5 eggsVery good motherboard

Pros: So far there are no problems with the config in the BIOS just do what c_haasl stated about the RAM and you will be fine.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: c_haasl did hit the nail on the head about moveing the RAM in 2 and 4 then it will clock to the DDR 400 (PC3200) for the board.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product All Around!

Pros: I've owned several of the DFI LANPARTY boards and loved them all. Great selection of boards to get exactly what you need and all at a reasonable price. Quality is excellent. These board are well thought out and it shows in layout, functionality, durability, and dependability. Great for overclocking and all around tweaking for best performance. LANPARTYs are THE experts' line of boards.

Cons: Some may find the location of the chipset fan to be too near their pci-e video card. Note that the fan is very short and does not protrude above the pci-e slot. If your video card's back edge does not go below the edge of the port, you will be fine.

Other Thoughts: If you are having trouble with this board (things like trouble installing/loading Windows, stability, crashing while playing games, please note the following:

For some reason, and I have called DFI and asked them about this with no answer ever given, the LANPARTY boards do not like to dual-channel memory in slots 1 and 3. If you are having troubles, try and move the memory modules to slots 2 and 4. Despite what you may read otherwhere, Corsair and Corsair ValueSelect RAM works great with these boards. Also, DO NOT install the IDE driver that is on the utilities CD. It isn't needed and causes BSODs in WinXP. One more thing; the chipset fan can get loud after time. Removing the fan and lubricating it helps keep it quiet again for months, however, I recommend this heatsink (item number: N82E16835109131) for these boards, as they will fit between the video card and just about any heatsink, even the Zalmans which can be very wide

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: Excellent board. Great for overclocking. I really like the uncoventional layout of the board. Tons of options in bios.

Cons: Hard to set up. Bios had to be flashed from the get-go. Had to install XP twice. First time it didn't like it, but no problem on second try.

Other Thoughts: Any review saying something bad about this board is inaccurate. This is an awesome board! It is somewhat difficult to get it started, but once you get all the updated software, it's smooth sailing. I have heard about incompatibility with Mem, but had no problem with OCZ Gold DDR500.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Great Board.

Cons: A pain in the Rear to get it working. I had to reset the bios right out of the box. I probably need to replace the on board battery.

Other Thoughts: I probably would go with the Asus board over this one if I had to buy one again. I Just recently worked with it. I had no problems with it what-so-ever. But now that the board is working... I like!

5 out of 5 eggsNot for the inexperienced

Pros: This board has amazing oc capability overclocking a AMD 3800 plus (2.0ghz)->(2.40ghz) Smoothly. My 6800gs's over clocked to 520mhz I did not mess with the memory speep left at 1.0GHZ. and Works well with SLI. Comos Reloaded works great in my experience. WAS able to get Linux Getoo and windows xp to work.
Board is laid out quite nicely

Cons: Not easy to use if you do not know what you are doing... Can be a easy pain. *Prepare for a ride if you do not know your stuff pretty well.
I did not see a tech support phone number.

Other Thoughts: Makes sure you have all SLI settings enabled in bios. -Ram is secure or will reboot constantly or not boot at all. -Just check little things like this and you should be able to get her going.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Upgraded from a socket 754 so I could support duel channel RAM... This is by far the BEST MB I have ever owned... So many different little things you can do on it its unbelievable...

Cons: None (See Other Thoughts)

Other Thoughts: Please be sure your ready to overhaul your entire system (which I was)... You need specific types of RAM because the bored doesn't respond to a lot of them... You also need a NICE PSU with all the connectors... Alot of people say C0rsair RAM doesn't work but some do (like mine)... This board is for more experienced people and has a lot of potential ^_^

3 out of 5 eggsToo good to be true...

Pros: It has a wealth of BIOS options, enough USB connectors, cables, etc. It would seem like it has potential.

Cons: Tried with 4 different Linux distributions (2.6, recent kernels), couldn't get the board to work, I thought it just might be something incompatible. Tried with Windows XP, can't get it to boot off of any SATA drive, IDE drive = random reboots, overall glitchy. Silicon Image RAID controller doesn't work. Bad board??

Other Thoughts: I thought it would be the perfect board for a new Linux workstation/server combined with an Opteron 170. Going to RMA right now and hope that I just got a bad apple.

2 out of 5 eggsNot good for high end parts

Pros: Many options for OC. Lot's of usb, firewire, 2 lan ports.

Cons: Will not run dual channel ocz platnums. Mem tester I ran fails. Mem works fine in Gigabyte board. SLI not responsive, old updates for BIOS, No tech Support. MOBO is unstable. Random Reboots. Troubleshot, MEM related. Disappointed. Gigabyte had issues also. Going to try Asus.

Other Thoughts: Systems Engineer
Mcse, Cne, Rhce, CCNA, Internet+, A+, Network +
