5 out of 5 eggsTop of the line nForce4

Pros: Relatively small MB but has it all. SATA, IDE, PCI, PCI-e, USB out the wazoo. Great board for those who want SATA and IDE. Up to 12 USB ports! NIC worked right out of the box. Includes SATA and IDE cables.

Cons: Sound is questionable. Manual is limited but helps with jumpers, etc. No BIOS help at all in the manual. Take note that this isn't a 20-pin board, it's 24. Be sure your PS has a 24-pin connector.

Other Thoughts: Matched it up with an AMD Dual Core 5000+, 2GB of Gskill RAM, an XFX geForce 7950xt, 500 wattTopower XPT P/S and a 160GB SATA HD. Everything worked first shot, very happy. Added my old IDE drives and off we went. Works great.

3 out of 5 eggsdoes not take single 2GB RAM stick

Pros: Newegg shipped on time with no errors. 2 day delivery

Cons: This board only takes 128,256, 512, or 1024 MB of RAM memory in each of it's slots. Would have been nice to know before ordering it with a Crucial single 2GB stick. Neither New egg or Biostar has this mentioned anywhere on they're sites. Only found out after reading the owners manual for the mobo.
Now I have to order 2-1GB sticks of RAM

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 3 months :(

Pros: It's a nice board, has 4 PCI

Cons: RAM slots are VERY close to CPU. With my AMD 6000+ I can't instal more than 3 sticks of RAM as the one closest to the CPU would be touching it. Also the Ethernet NEVER worked, but I toughed it out. Today, after 3 months, my front right speaker stopped working. Tried 3 diff pairs of speakers and found out that the sound card is now shot and there's no way to get sound from that speaker.

Other Thoughts: Get something better. It's a nice board for the price, but little things that should work (ethernet, sound) took a dive on me.

3 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Works, does good job of running everything

Cons: Green is pale

Other Thoughts: Bought this board before knowing too much about computers, it sounded like a solid board, put it into my computer and saw the problems immediatly. A. RAM really close to CPU (probably normal but still makes me nervous about over heating) B. Have to hit F1 to continue booting and C. Will not slave for IDE if master is on SATA

4 out of 5 eggsBiostar mobo

Pros: Good layout, very stable.

Cons: The ethernet port did not work from day one. Then after 2 months of having it the mic for it died.

Other Thoughts: Everything is well now, it is a great mobo. AMD x2 4200, 2GB RAM, 7900GS, 160GB SATA HD, and Biostar mobo.

4 out of 5 eggsNOT A BAD BOARD, UPDATE BIOS!

Pros: This really isn't a bad board, that's if yours has no defects. It overclocks pretty good. The manual is pratically useless, but if you have experience then...you should be okay. No issues. Updated Bios that fixes the power and booting issues.

Cons: Cons...If you by the open box, it comes with nothing but the board. No I/O shield, manual, cables, notta. So, make sure you have all the proper cables and etc.

Other Thoughts: I have a Athlon 64 LE1600 2.2Ghz overclocked to 2.7Ghz stable. Luckily it's the 45W version.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great, poor sound

Pros: Runs very nicely with my dual core CPU and dual channel RAM. Has ten onboard USB headers, and three PCI slots that are well-spaced from the PCI-Ex video slot. Supports four IDE devices, four RAM chips and four SATA 3gb/s devices. A very nice board for the money. Works well in Vista, too.

Cons: Other than the difficult-to-find printer cable that attaches to the onboard header, the sound ports in the rear were the only real problem. They receive lots of interference. Also, Biostar's website has no drivers whatsoever. You will need the included CD.

Other Thoughts: Fortunately I purchased a USB/Sound Header bay insert, so I simply plugged my sound in the front of my case, and now it works great. If you're looking for a bargain mobo, the pros far outweigh the cons.

Pros: Had problems with my PCCHIPS motherboard when i tried to put a Athlon X2 64 and the board just died on me. had bios errors along with cmos errors that tech support coulndt help me with. put everything into this board and worked fine. i havent had any problems with this board.

Cons: no onboard video but who needs one when you have a video card. still need one for troubleshooting video issues if you have a card.

1 out of 5 eggsUseless as a cordless battery charger

Pros: None. This board is no different from the rest of the boards we have out today except for it having 4 PCI slots instead of 2 or 3.

Cons: This board is nothing but CONS like all the other boards with the useless PCI-E 1X slots and the over rated PCI-E 16X slot. The board that I received was a OEM which was DOA.
In 10 years I have purchase over 30 OEM motherboards and this is first one that I received that was DOA.
Biostar's support web site was just as dead as this motherboard was so I would steer clear of their products until they get their act together

Other Thoughts: I was kind of glad this board was DOA because it was more or less useless to me when I only have 1 PCI-E 16X video card and about 7 AGP cards.
I order a ASROCK AM2NF3-VSTA from UK to replace it. The AM2NF3-VSTA is the only motherboard for AM2/AM2+ with AGP support so I can get one of those new ATI HD 3850 AGP cards which supposed to blow the dust of Nvidia's 8800 for half the price.
If PCI-E 16X is so grate and fast, how come my ASROCK 939Dual-VSTA AGP slot runs 4 frames faster then the 16X PCI-E slot with the same X1950PRO and never pauses like the PCI-E card does? I will never purchase another PCI-E card again. I'm sticking with AGP.
