ASRock’s 775Dual-VSTA ATX Intel Motherboard is one of the first that developed specifically to be ready for Windows Vista™. Incorporating Hyper-Threading Technology and designed for untied overclocking, this board is ready to be built up with a collection of top-end components. A maximum of 2GB of DDR266/333/400 RAM lets you keep older RAM for now and upgrade to the latest and greatest later.
Your serial, parallel and 4 USB ports will let you tie in multiple peripherals, and 4 PCI and 1 PCI-E slots and 1 AGP slot give you room for all the plug-in cards you might want. Your ears will be as impressed as your eyes with a Realtek ALC888-8 channel audio Codec, connecting with HDMI-S/PDIF connectors which would allow you to feed your sound into an HDMI digital TV, and LCD TV, or a projector. This is a true multimedia machine ready to meet your tests!

This board ROCKS
- Pros: First off to the negative reviews. The board is a budget board and expecting sata 3.0 and numerous voltage expectations is absurd. The board is a budget board that is quite possibly the best board in this price range. To the problems posted I have no reply as my experience has been very good. Now to the good stuff, you must set the cpu to async in the bios, pci-e to 117, spread spectrum disabled and vlinc to normal. All these are necessary to go over the 300 barrier on this board for fsb. I currently am at 312 and posting this after running sisoft in the background fo numberous hours. The board is VERY GOOD for updating and staying on the back end until quad cores hit and dx10 cards hit the market.
- Cons: I suppose voltage adjustement would be nice but honestly the boards price range is sweet and it run conroes dual core duos COMPETETIVELY with over motherboards, and wins in some benchmarks!
- Other Thoughts: I currently own a e6300 overclocked to 2.2Ghz, not a bad overclock on air and I know other mboards have seen 500 MHZ clocks but the price vs performance ratio is no where near what i paid. 270$$....
Great board - horrendous manual
- Pros: Very well featured board, ideal for people who want to keep their AGP VGA card.
Supports wide range of CPU's, DDR and DDR-2 memory, AGP and PCIe.
- Cons: Absolutely horrendous manual.
Only 2 memory slots.
- Other Thoughts: Installing a single SATA drive with XP is a little bit of a challenge. First of all the drive shows up as an IDE drive (mots m/b's show SATA as SCSI). Apparently this is normal (would be nice if the manual mentioned it...). Everything worked fine except...it took 1 hour to boot: the system sits for 59 minutes, then boots in 1 min. After many days of trial and error found out that, contrary to what the manual states, YOU MUST INSTALL THE SATA DRIVERS ALSO FOR A NON-RAID CONFIGURATION.
After that, system works like a charm.
AsRock: please get someone to rewrite the manual.

Good Choice
- Pros: Great board. I echo most things that other people have said. Make sure your PSU has a 20+4 connector.
No problems using DDR400 and AGP, very nice!
- Cons: First one I got was DOA. Second time was the charm.
No Firewire.
- Other Thoughts: fyi, the RMA process took 2 weeks... not fast but not slow... enjoy!
- Pros: Very versitile. Good price
- Cons: the position of the ide and sata ports could of been better. hard to install an IDE hard drive (which is needed before you can install a sata hard drive) is a little difficult when the end of the hard drive is nearly sitting on top of the IDE port.
zero problems - great board
- Pros: Best choice for using DDRAM with CORE2 CPU. Low price, lots of slots.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Been up and running 24/7 as server, no errors, no problems. I had data corruption with some SATA controllers when trying to use ECS P4M800Pro, those problems went away with this motherboard.
