1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: cheap, only reason i rate it even 1 because have to and NEWEGG.COM is best on service, pricing, selection and quality. you can't expect them to police every single product that comes to their warehouse. I give newegg 5 stars all the way just making sure to confirm that. :)

Cons: DOA, first time installing Intel prcessr on intel board and will be the last. this 775 socket Intel CPU does NOT "plug into" the board like 99% of amd cpu's so you " know" it's connected 100%. I Pushed power, cpu fan spins for a sec or two at most then dies. Nothing show on screen, No beeps. I triple checked all connections and cables and components for compatiblity, emailed Foxconn about 7300gt bfg tech Nvidia vid card, 1.8 gig celeron processor, ddr400 512mb x2 ram GEIL brand, and the 450 watt PSU included with the mid tower (N82E16811240003). They approved of everything.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if all 775 socket intel cpu's are made the same with to bearly touch/connect with the cpu socket hub on the intel motherboards, but if that is the case..I'm sticking with the SURE connections of AMD cpu's and their mobos. I have NEVER encountered an AMD cpu and it's hub on the amd mobo that did not STAB/PLUG INTO the hub. Most if not all of them DO NOT have latches that you pull down and hope the cpu is correctly connected to the hub. I made certain i was very gentle with the cpu and of course made sure it was properly aligned with its motherboard hub. However i was still able to move it even after i carefully clammed the silver latch down that holds it in place. to mean that is poor design on intel's part. and heat sink and fan mounting is a joke. almost impossible to plug in 100% and equally on all four plugs into the mobo. I'll stick to the common sensable and proven true design of amd products from now on

1 out of 5 eggsCPU fan port Dead

Pros: cost

Cons: The cpu fan port was dead on my motherboard. Tried the cpu fan on another motherboard and it works fine. Updating the bios to the “latest” 2005 version had no effect.

Other Thoughts: Would have been great if the cpu fan power port worked but the motherboard is so cheap buying something else isn’t an issue

4 out of 5 eggsPleasantly Surprised

Pros: Really ended up impressing me. I got this because I didn't want to get a cutting edge mobo have to restock my entire system with newer compatible parts. It works well with my 4gb ddr400, p4 3.8 HT(even overclocked to 4.1 ghz), and the rest of my system. This board is stable unless I push my cpu and gpu oc really high. Neat features, comes with all the necessities, and has raid capabilities as well.

Cons: When this board came in the mail I was disappointed to find that there were no firewire 9 pin headers on the board(don't trust the picture duh!). The bios takes a bit to transfer between post, the raid bios, and strartup, which makes the startup time (power on, to system stable) a little under two minutes and thirty seconds. My system now boots windows faster after it gets to the windows splash though.

Other Thoughts: Thank goodness for newegg. Instead of returning this board, I did a little research and found the perfect firewire pci card(with one external port, and one internal 9 pin header!). Now this board is exactly what I need. Update the bios, which is very easy with Foxconns software package. Some of the other programs are pretty cool; one lets you monitor settings and set alerts for system temps/voltages/overclock(I wouldn't oc from the program though, do it in the bios), and the other allows you to make a custom splash screen that displays before the bios(cool for system builders)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you want the SATA RAID then buy model 9157AC 8EKRS. I got the wrong model. :(

Cons: No SATA RAID. So don't get confused. Suposed to detect 4GB but windows only shows 3GB.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board So Far

Pros: I like the fact that this board has DDR, and not DDR2. I just put my Crucial in this board, works great.

Cons: Wish the instructions told me to put those "standoffs" between the case and board! I went to turn the power on, but nothing happened.

Other Thoughts: For a first time build with little outside help, i think I this board is a good buy.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not the best

Pros: Pretty good motherboard while it lasted. Not the best out there, but still solid. Connected fine and setup was easy.

Cons: It's held up fine for a bit over a year, but the North Bridge has recently fried. I'd recommend buying something that will last you longer.

Other Thoughts: The pins for the case light were not compatible with the case I had (3pin hole, 2 pins available on the mobo)

4 out of 5 eggsWhat it says

Pros: SATA, PCI express 16, Decent Bios once it is updated. It was compatible with the existing parts already in the machine. (Replacement for a failed mobo, other brand) and as always Newegg's Fine Service.

Cons: No longer supported by the manufacturers software utilitys even once they are updated.

Other Thoughts: XP didn't like it from the start as a replacement. If you are upgrading disable all onboard devices you don't need first and install the drivers. I had to do a repair install of windows due to the change. I was locked in a loop until I did this. I am sure my client will be pleased over all.
