ATI's X800 series of cards has been one of its most successful. The X800 GTO is, however, a classical example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Under the skin of the GTO version lurks an R480 core, not the R430, standard on other X800's. This permits overclocking and BIOS mods to the serious enthusiast's content.
The X800 GTO powers through 3D games with 12 Pixel Pipelines, 256MB onboard memory and 256-bit memory interface. Featuring a quiet and cool single-slot design and ATI's breakthrough image enhancement technologies, the Sapphire X800 GTO AGP card unearths the true graphics potential of your AGP-based PC and pushes its performance to the next level.

Great AGP card
- Pros: AGP 12 pixel pipes, one of the best AGP cards to be had
- Cons: none yet
- Other Thoughts: raised my score from ~3000 to 10k on 3dmark03
Amd XP 2800+ 1gb corsair value X800GTO AGP allows me to keep current pc for couple more years, IF YOU NEED A AGP CARD THIS IS IT
r430 16pipes unlocked!
- Pros: R430 core, 16 pipes unlocked, full 256 bit memory interface, GDDR3 memory! Stock benches: 3dMark03=9580 3dMark05=4937. Right at twice as fast as the dying 9800 pro at XT speeds it replaced.
- Cons: No cons, so I'll use this for system specs: NF7-S rev 1.4, Athlon XP-M 2600 @ 2.2 ghz (it does more but its hot and no AC), only 512 DDR400@200mhz 2.5-3-3-11, This video card.
- Other Thoughts: I think this is the best deal left in AGP, its practically an X800XL, the only AGP card readily available still that takes it is the 7800GS at 3x the price almost. Looked up some benches and this card handily trounces the x1600pro and the new 7600gs. The review system was a s754 A64-FX with 2 gigs of ram on dual raptors, and I score 400 points better in 05 with the x800GTO on my busted old athlon XP than the FX did with 4x the ram and the 7600GS and 1000 points better than the x1600 pro.

Bought for Oblivion
- Pros: Bought this so I could play Oblivion on my XP2600+. It plays very well. It was worth the purchase.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I have re-discovered other games. Far Cry and Halo kick at higher resolutions. I am a happy camper. I wanted nvidia but I always seem to buy ATI and like it.
cool stuff
- Pros: 16 pp unlocked, now i can run FEAR and OBLIVION with a decent frame rate in high, i upgrade from a Nvidia 6200.
- Cons: runs a little hot
- Other Thoughts: i have a problem when i install the card , its not display nothing on the monitor, the problem was my AGP MB so i buy another MB, and every thing was OK.
nice card
- Pros: I loved this card, it was everything the reviews said it would be. I can now run Oblivion of high quality! came with 16 pipelines out of the box for me, overclocking is decent i keep it low to be on the safe side. great card for your money.
- Cons: heard it ran hot so i bought an AVC-AT1. brackets fit perfectly, also its bulky putting in case with the cooler on, had to move my harddrive around and a little nervous that it might just fall and break from the weight but its ok.
- Other Thoughts: even with all the cons i still give this card a five cause its probably one of the best cards for agp, i cant wait to play FEAR and PREY now.
