5 out of 5 eggskicking FPS and taking names

Pros: Got the ATi branded one but still the same thing. Got it to replace my 9700pro. Same image quality as the 9700pro but this runs circles around it. Easily adds performance for those wanting to prolong upgrading.

Cons: None. Seems like the 9700pro got more hot than the x850pro. I had to put an xtra fan on the 9700 while i dont have to have it with the x850. Stock cooling works fine for me.

Other Thoughts: Was planning on unlocking only the xtra pipes but decided against it. It performs so well that i am satisfied with it as is. I still may in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsSecrets Unfolded

Pros: 16 Pipelines (4 are have not been disabled by laser cut, 12 active at purchase) I have flashed my bios twice and now it is running as an X 850 XT PE

Cons: Buy additional cooling for overclocking. I use an additon two pci slot fan that forces air into the stock fan.

Other Thoughts: Running Oblivion at high settings with good results. HL2 and Call of Duty 2 scream. Additional HW on PC 3.0 GHZ Hyper Threading P4 with 1 Gig of RAM. New Egg Case with 2 additional case fans.

5 out of 5 eggsSapphire X850Pro - Great Card

Pros: This card is insanely fast. Being on a tight budget, I cna't upgrade my system for PCI Express, so I had to stay with AGP. This card overclocks well. Stock is 500/500, overclocked to 550/580. Must get additional cooling though.....Artic Cooling. I upgraded from a 9800 Pro. Running all of my games at 1600x1200 highest resolution settings and it hasn't skipped a beat. BF2, BFME2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Rise of Legends, and others.

System Specs: (outdated, but run great)

Asus A7N8X-Deluxe
Athlon XP 2800+ (333 Barton) OC to 2.2 (175FSB DDR 350)
1GB Dual Channel PC3200 OCZ Dual
Sapphire X850Pro (OC 550/580)
160GB WD SATA HDD
Sounds like a vacum cleaner, but runs extremely cool do to all of the additional cooling I have. System runs at 101 F at full load.

Cons: It would be nice to have know what memory was actually on the card. Can't upgrade the bios to the XT version since the memory is 2.0ns. I needed 1.6 to be able to do this. If possible, check to see what memory you have and if it's the 1.6, you can upgrade the bios on the card to unlock the additional pipelines (from 12 to 16) and run at XT (or even XTPE) speeds.

Other Thoughts: MUST HAVE ADDITIONAL COOLING TO OVERCLOCK to the speeds I have posted. This is alsp a MUST if you try and flash the bios to XT or XTPE speeds and unlocking the pipes.

NOTE: I don't play Oblivion so I haven't tested with that game. I'm sure the card would run it, but don't expect 1600x1200 resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: I used this card long enough to know what I am talking about, even though I don't own it.This was bought as a replacement for a Radeon 9800 Pro that has fried days earlier, and what an improvement it was. The computer it is being used on has almost 100 watts less than the recommended and it runs fairly stably?. Gaming is its number one use, which it does very well. Almost all games can be run at max settings with frame rates in the high 70's to low 80's. Fan does its job nicely.

Cons: Not many at all, the temperature can get kind of high, especially if it's in a tight case(like the one it's in). It can also be kind of noisy if you wanna get picky. Kind of big I guess...

Other Thoughts: Definately worth the money. Can overclock if needed too. Fairly cool, quiet; looks good too. nuff said.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card!

Pros: Strong Performance. Dual speed cooling fan. So far i am very pleased with this card.

Cons: Fan just a tad noisey, but tolerable. Drivers for ATI cards are a little quirky at times. A little pricey but thats what I get for still using AGP.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully this is my last AGP card, so far it's been my best.

5 out of 5 eggsUnlock the full potential

Pros: A great card right out of the box for anyone looking to upgrade an older AGP system. I was coming from a 128MB 9800Pro and the difference is substnatial. I can play games at higher detail levels, double my AA and ansio settings, and still get better FPS. Probably just added another 18 months to my system. Paid about the same as I did for my 9800 Pro two years ago.

Cons: A bit power hungry, as is to be expected. The Catalyst Control Center takes longer to load every time I upgrade it! Come on ATI!

Other Thoughts: This card is definately an outstanding upgrade for anyone who doesn't want to shell out for an entirely new system. Lots of bundled software and cables/adapters. Technically savvy buyers will also enjoy playing around with this card. Suffice to say I've had great success thinking outside the box with this card... great success indeed...

5 out of 5 eggspretty 31337

Pros: I was using this card in my frined's old compaq and i must say i was impressed. He had no installation problems and it even runs on the less than recommended power supply. Call of Duty 2 and F.E.A.R. can be run at almost max settings with ease.

Cons: The card itself is kind of big and it can get hot if not properly venilated. Minor.

Other Thoughts: Definately worth it. If I wasnt upgrading to PCI-E, I would get this.

5 out of 5 eggsX850PRO->XT

Pros: Rich packaging
Overclockable/unlockable to XT PE, i.e 16 pipes, 540/580 MHz

Cons: None found yet - hope it will live long

Other Thoughts: If you're going to overclock/unlock pipes - I recommend Arctic Cooling ATi Silencer 5 rev. 2. It runs really quiet and cools fine
