Sapphire takes aim at mainstream gamers with their Radeon X1950Pro card. This reasonably priced card has enthusiast class features like a 256bit wide bus to the 256MB of GDDR3 memory and acceleration of multiple formats including MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and WMV9. The 36 pixel pipes and 8 vertex shader processors provide stunning detail to every frame.

Native CrossFire support makes adding a second card easy, since it doesn’t require slave or master hardware. The 24-bit connection enables high resolutions and refresh rates on a broad range of Intel and AMD platforms.

The Avivo video and display engine has dual independent controllers with 30 bits per pixel support throughout the display pipe for maximum color accuracy. In addition to the advanced DVI ports, there's also a component video output to directly drive HDTV displays.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for what I paid.

Pros: This card for the price gives you a lot of kick. I was able to play Battlefield 2142, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Unreal Tournament III on full graphics with no problems.

Cons: My card died after a while, but then again I didn't expect it to last forever. For $135 dollars expect the possibility, but regardless of that it's done really well.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a great card for not a lot of money, this card would be (in my opinion) your best choice.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed without a hitch. Runs hotter than my stock card but the fan keeps up. Replacement for a X1350Pro and the difference is incredible and I can run most games on highest setting. World in Conflict stutters but that was expected and of course Crysis runs at about mid settings. Runs without problems with a stock Dell power supply but calls for 450W on box.

Cons: None at this point. It does run hot and I had some problems in Vista with the driver software interfering with Steam but got that straightened out. If anything involving Steam pops up during installation just hit cancel and continue.

Other Thoughts: For the price I'm very happy and until the day I want to build my own computer I'll always stick with these types of cards...Cheap and just enough power to make me smile knowing that I didn't spend many hundreds of dollars on a video card.

3 out of 5 eggsNot what I was hoping for...

Pros: Good price for the performance, although there's not a whole lot of difference between this and my old x800.

Cons: Fan is very loud, surprisingly so even on system startup from being cold. Runs hot, unit is heavy and very large, barely fit in the machine, I had to rearrange some other components to get it to fit. Seems rather cheaply made, to be honest. Wouldn't purchase again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: I spent much time researching these x1950s and I found that most x1950Pros will beat a 7900 GS. This card has good stock speeds and a nice 256 bit memory interface. Plus, this saphire was one of the only cards that I found to have the best speeds at the best price. There are few other x1950Pros out there that will beat it for the buck.

Cons: With the new HD3850 out already, which smokes this one in literally any measurable benchmark, there is only one reason to not buy this x1950, and that is if you have the extra bucks spare fir a HD3850. For me, I had to return this baby, which is the best card of its generation, and get me one of those HDs. I picked up GeCube's HD3850 not too long ago at 179.99. The HD3850 allows way better gameplay.

Other Thoughts: Buy this only if you want to run your 3D games at low but playable settings, but if you want to play your games while enjoying their visuals, then buy an HD3850.

5 out of 5 eggsSmokin' for the Price

Pros: Price:Performance. Retail packaged with all the goodies and connectors you need. Supports 30" if you need it. Crossfire supported so you can run two for cheap. This card smashes anything else in its price bracket.

Cons: Fan is a little noisy.

Other Thoughts: Running this at native res in games on a 19" LCD. With settings 'mostly' all the way up the card runs smoothly and I have yet to see it bog down in real intense moments. You can pretty much run everything at high with no problems, it is the 8x AA that will kill it. Drivers are easily attained and readily updated through AMD/ATI.

Pros: Nice looking video card, came in nice packaging. This thing was so easy to install.Great performance overall.

Cons: This thing was set to 575mhz,instead of the 580mhz that Newegg promised.

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD VC

Pros: Nice looking card, easy to install.A very nice upgrade from my old Nvidia 6200 SE.Can play the new games from mid to high quality.A perfect VC for a mid range gamer who can't afford the top dog's :D

Cons: My VC wasn't 580-700mhz it was a standard 575-690mhz.kind of mad

Other Thoughts: It has OC settings so that's why I gave it 5 eggsI set it to 621-770mhz :D.Can barely play Crysis, yet again even the big bad 8800's struggle with that high demanding game !
