KILLER CARD - R481 CAN BE UNLOCKED
- Pros: Upgraded from a Radeon 9500Pro which had been flashed to 9700Pro w/Overclocking. This thing ROXX. Dolf's autoflashing cd makes it noob friendly to open the extra 4 pipes and get better performance. NEWEGG OWNS LIFE!
- Cons: None yet. I don't notice the fan noise, but my comp's fans aren't whisper soft. Haven't overclocked yet, due to recommendations for better card cooling when I do.
- Other Thoughts: Purchased this on 10/4, and was nervous about not being able to unlock the pipes. It's ALL good. Google for dolf r481 cd and you'll find success!
More Than I Expected
- Pros: I upgraded from a 9800 pro and I can't say how happy I am with this card. It plays WOW, Oblivion, Company of Heroes very well. A lot better than I was expecting!
- Cons: The only thing I can say bad about it was the extra 4 pipelines could not be unlocked. But didn't let that stop you this card performs well even with just the 12 and you may get lucky and get a bonus 4 pipes.
- Other Thoughts: P4 2.6c 1.5 gig ram 865pe pro MB I really thought about upgrading the motherboard but after seeing the way this performs I'm glad to squeezing a little more out of a aging system. Well I'm going to play some games!

- Other Thoughts: I ordered the card and got it fast - great service as always from newegg. I've got this card in an Asus A7V333+RAID motherboard with an AGP 4x slot. I can play F.E.A.R. now! I reccomend using the ATI drivers and not the omega drivers. I and a friend of mine have both gotten higher graphics benchmarks using the official ATI drivers with this card than the Omegas. I upgraded from an ATI 8500DV AIW. Money well spent. The fan on the card isn't terribly loud IMO either - I don't notice it over the sound of the 80mm front and rear fans.

- Pros: Best value/$ for AGP. Runs 1680x1050 fine over DVI. If you are lucky you may be able to unlock extra pipes and run as X850 XT PE. Overclocks well 580/580 on my card with H2O cooling.
- Cons: Performance a bit lackluster for high resolution displays. My chip was laser cut on both the die and the substrate. Substrate cut can be fixed with conductive pen but die cut is on the bottom of the chip and cannot be fixed. Use ATItool to check before flashing a XT PE BIOS. DIE_FUSES 0xFFFF7FF - Laser cut since 3rd hex is not F. SUBSTRATE_FUSES was 0xFFFFFF9E but conductive pen fixed it to 0xFFFFFF9F.
- Other Thoughts: Bought this to improve NWN2 game play at 1680x1050 but did not help much upgrading from NV7600GS. I guess I have to wait for the x1950Pro AGP before I can improve this situation.

- Pros: card has great proformance nothing in those areas are bad
- Cons: doesnt run 1680x1050 on dvi i had to make do with the analog thus if u have a wide screen dvi stay away
