4 out of 5 eggsUps and Downs

Pros: Let's me play my higher load games (Source engine, etc). Not too expencive. Everything plugged in without a problem.

Cons: I have some issues with rendering. In games it will put in flashing textures that aren't actually there, it's not horrible, but it's still not functioning correctly.

Other Thoughts: If anyone has any suggestions or has had a similar problem and knows how to fix it, can you please respond, I'll keep my eye on this for the next few days. Thanks!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works very well. A nice upgrade from my 9600 Pro. I have noticed a significant upgrade in games like Counter Strike: Source and Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.

Cons: The card itself it a little big. It was not a problem for me, and it shouldn't be a problem for others.

5 out of 5 eggsUnlocked and Overclocked

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Not one

Other Thoughts: I got the open box of this exact card. It was the R430 core so a bios flash was in order. It unlocked to 16 pipes without an issue, then I was still able to get an overclock (no errors in ati tool for 15 minutes) of 550mhz on the core and 1100mhz DDR memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGood last stand

Pros: Great card if you are like me and waiting to upgrade to PCI Express, if you get the R430 core 16 pipes are yours, great price

Cons: The people in brown trucks held my card for 3 days making my 3 day shipping turn into 6, card is very very looooong, only 1/4 inch shorter than my MB is wide, so before you install the card you may have to adjust HD's and cables, this is not really a con just a friendly warning

Other Thoughts: I got the open box version, saved even more and it has the r430 core which can be unlocked to 16 pipes, I also have the Artic cooler 5 on it which makes it quiet, if you want to get alot of card for low $ this is the one, I have no idea about the overclocking potential because i prefer quiet over fast, but unlocking the 4 extra pipes makes a noticable diff

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Exceptional overclocking:
570Mhz Core (up from 400!)
575Mhz Mem (up from 490)
No artifacts (maybe 1 pixel mismatch every 10 minutes of scanning, lol). Stock cooler, but with pretty decent ambient cooling. Idles at 37C, 59C Load.

How is this possible? I don't know but I like it!

Cons: R480 Core, so stuck at 12 pipelines, but I have a feeling the overclockablility makes up for it.

Other Thoughts: Had to RMA my first one because of artifacts on POST and DVI not working. But, as always, newegg promply hooked me up with a working one. Excellent card.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I thought it would be.

Pros: This card was an upgrade for me from a Sapphire 9600PRO, and it`s everything I thought it would be, and more. Although, mine is not one of the unlockable chips, hey, if you can`t be happy with 12 pipes something`s wrong with ya`. You can OC this one more than any card I`ve ever owned or read about.

Cons: That CD that comes with this card is really a cocktail coaster. Get your driver from any of the good oc sites on the net and get the latest version of ATITOOLS also.

Other Thoughts: nada.

5 out of 5 eggsFast card.

Pros: This card is so fast. Thats all i can say, i ran the FEAR video test with all options max w/ 2x AA and 4x aniso at 1024x768 and got 45 fps avg and 75fps (vsync) max. wow! Overclocked to 520core and 600 (1200) mhz memory. This card is bad! Plays WoW at 1600x1200 maxxed at 75fps and sometimes down to 50 in VERY crowed areas. HDTV support was easy so i can play on my 55" proj thru the dvi connection.

Cons: I got the R480 core, so i cant flash to 16 pipes, however i flashed a r430 bios in trying to get to 16 pipes, so now ati tool says R430 even though the card has a R480. odd... Fan is real noisy. sounds like a jet plane in my case.

Other Thoughts: Great card for money. Wish i could upgrade to 16 pipes but luck of the draw i guess, but im still very happy with it!

5 out of 5 eggsSchweet

Pros: 256MB memory, nice overclocking potential (depending on chipset, the R480 can overclock much more then the R430.) Ability to unlock the other 4 pixel pipelines to give a total of 16 (Only availible with the R430 chipsets, mine was a R430 but both r430 and R480s were used in this model card, use ATItool to check and see if you have the R430 or R480). Included overclocking software is better than ATItool's overclocking in my opinion. HD output via YPbPr, can hit 480i, 720p, and 1080i. both a VGA and DVI outputs.

Cons: None really, other than that i waited so long to unlok the 4 other pipelines.

Other Thoughts: The entire GT- series cards (GT, GTO, GTO2) are just meant for ATI to use up their surplus boards and chips and make some money, as a result you can end up with a card with great overclocking and 12 pipes, or a card with marginal overclocking and 16 pipes. I run mine at 419 core and 573.75 memory with no artifacts, but everyones will overclock differently.
